It's time to crack open the crazy colors....
It's award season of every kind, we've got the Golden Globes, SAG and the Oscars -and the most important award in the country (and right now, perhaps the world) - the inauguration of Barack Hussein Obama as the 44th President of the United States.

I was in a production house yesterday and had a meeting with a client who used to work on the fabled 'West Wing' - in my lowly opinion one of the few televison shows that justify the whole damn medium. It is well known that the characters of  Santos and Vinick were based on Obama and McCain respectively (particularly the centrist elder statesman 'Vinick'...) and the way events played out was eerily prescient (bless that Aaron Sorkin!) - everyone was just curious and ever-so-slightly breathless as to whether the Season 7's ending would parallel 2008 America in reality!!!

Anyway, our hopes for the other awards of the season? That Kate Winselt stacks up some serious accolades for her work in 'Revolutionary Road' (unbelievably, no Oscar nod for her or Mendes - UNFATHOMABLE -maybe a little too close to home for some people???) and the exquisite 'The Reader'....Ah, what else to expect form a team of Stephen Daldry and David Hare - there seems to be no nuances  with regards to Holocaust historiography that they have missed out - excellent news for the academic community! A virtual playing out of all grey zones....

Enjoy the celebrations people!!!!! There is ALOT to celebrate!!!!

Now...if we can only hurry the launch of LagunaScapes so we can cash in on the festive atmosphere, LOL!!!!!

So much of the beloved California countryside is on fire right now and a heavy smoke hangs over us here in Los Angeles...Our Australian development assistant says that the way the sun hits the sidewalk with orange light is just like being back home for a Sydney summer! Our fingers are crossed that firefighters will be able to contain the fires soon.

Strange to have such heat  in mid-November - great for lazy trips capturing the beauty of Laguna - but not so great for keeping fires and draught at bay. We hope that the devastation and loss caused by these monstrous fires will encourage everybody to try and look after their environment; their own backyard and beyond - there's too much at stake not to...

Our wishes and prayers go out to all the people who have lost homes and treasured possessions in the last few days; and for our furry friends who have lost their precious habitats.
