Dear Pastor,

Greetings, thank you for taking the time in opening and reading this letter. We are “Answers In Red,” a musical rock band. But more than that actually, a ministry, a ministry of musicians trying to spread truth, knowledge, and hope through our blend of music. Each one of us contributes to this vision that has been apart of us from the first time we each picked up an instrument and knew the truth of the living word, which is Christ. We know that in due time our labor will not go in vain, in short, were the kind of band that’s not afraid of being bold and working hard to achieve success.

Elvin Alvarado, “Vin Alva”, is the lead singer of the band along side his brother and guitar player Hector Alvarado, “Hex Alva”, forming half of the band “Answers In Red.” Rogelio Barrera, “Rog Barrera,” is the bass player along side is his brother Daniel Barrera, “Danny B,” who plays the drums and forms the other half of “Answers In Red.” Together we are a set of brothers not just in a band, but a set of brothers dedicated to a life of ministry. Sharing our life’s tragedies and hardships, and showing how in the end Christ has been able to pull us out of any hole or situation we’ve encountered.

One of the most common things we all share aside from the love of God and music is a sort of tragedy you could say. You see both Elvin and Hector lost their mother to cancer, and Rogelio and Daniel lost their mother in a car accident. We all do miss our mothers and always wonder what it would be to have her back if only for one day. But we know that they would be proud of us for pressing on, persevering and not giving in when the enemy had us at our weakest.



We strive to move forward never settling for where we are or for what people made us out to be. We found that music was more than a way to escape or to vent our aggressions and frustrations and in performance. That God was arranging things inside us for his greater purpose. In time we found that those pains and hurts from past memories were beginning to be mended and those past hurts would become our scars, our badge of honor. You see, those scars don’t necessarily mean hurt, pain, or defeat. They show that this was a battle that we overcame and won, and because of this, we now know that it is something that can be overcome.

We understand the impact that music has on this generation and also understand that it impacts a far greater audience. So with that in mind, we know that now more than ever things must be taken by force. It is time for a bolder generation to arise, a Joshua generation. A generation that is not afraid to deliver a message of freedom, to stand up and shine the light and bring sight to those in places of darkness. “Stand up for something, or stand for nothing and fall for anything,” is what we say. “Answers In Red” is running alongside those who are bold and are tired of watching this generation be taken away into the darkness, we are sick and tired of being sick and tired.

So we ask that you would keep us in mind when you are looking for bands in any kind of out reaches, events, youth services, or anything you believe we might fit into. We will be honored and privileged to be apart of your movement, God’s movement. Included in this package is our LP demo and Contacts. Once again thank you and God’s blessings over your ministry.
