I are looking forward very much to this sat'dee, when myself and 3 marvellous naaarfuk bands shall be hitting Brighton town for a gig at the Great Escape.

The Norwich invasion shall take place between the hours of 12.30 and 16.30 at the Fortune of War pub (on kings way arches, brighton beach - between the piers). I will be taking to the stage first, followed by Girl in a Thunderbolt, Fever Fever, and Bearsuit.

You can't argue with that. Come, bring mustard and Bernard Matthews treats. Anyone who does an Alan Partridge impression will be beaten.

As things have been quiet round these parts for the last wee while, I've got a special treat for y'all. This Friday, the 6th of March, at 5 pm GMT, me and the band will be playing a bunch of songs from the new record, broadcast live across the world wide web. The session will be recorded, edited and mixed as it happens, so we will all be flying by the seat of our pants, so to speak.

allo all!
i have recently been trying n trying (without home internet access mind you) to get some new songs on the player, but myspace just won't play ball. i am in the process of trying to sort this out BUT! thanks to our good friend mr Huw Stephens, you can sample a song off the new album right now.
Huw played "The Only One" on his Radio 1 show last night, and you can listen again for the next 7 days. All's you gotta do is go here, and then click "listen again". My song comes around 21minutes in, but the rest of the show is well worth a listen.
and there are plenty of exciting things coming up, so keep yr eyes peeled.

I hope this finds you well. As for myself, I'm a very excited young man at the minute. That is because tomorrow, I'm going to get on a bus, which will take me into the heart of the Norfolk countryside, and to the marvel that is the Sickroom studios. There, surrounded by horses n cows n grass, as well as bus stop boy racers and "lottery louts", I am going to record the songs which will (fingers-crossed) end up on album 2. I've been playing these songs quite a bit at recent gigs (mad props to those at norwich playhouse, sheffield academy n london bush hall), and I am positively chomping at the bit to get them recorded before my untimely death.

The provisional title for said album is "Another Sleepless Night with Rory McVicar", and all being well and good, it should be out n about early next year.

Hello all,

Long time, no update... and this blog does not pertain to my music. HOWEVER! there is some proper news coming in the next week or so. Be excited, be very excited. I know I am.

 

Anyhoo, the purpose of this is simply to say "Have you heard Nat Johnson's new single, 'Dirty Rotten Soul' yet?" It's a barnstomper, and I had the pleasure of playing some proper guitarring on it. It is Sunday, I am half-watching Slash's rundown of the all time rock guitar gods, and avoiding the pile of work that I know is there. But! this blog must be written, for I have exciting news of future musical movements.

First up, I am happy to say that "No More Do I Care" will be the next song off the album to try and break from the pack in the form of a download only single. It's backed with an exclusive, non-album song called "Voice Familiar", on which I do my best to lock into a groove last heard on Coolio's global smash hit "Gangster's Paradise". It'll be released on April 7th through Series 8 Records.

In addition to this, I've been invited along by Nat Johnson and James Severy at the Circus-Circus to join them on their UK tour. This all ties in nicely, as it probably means I will playing in a town near you in the first couple of weeks of April. Have a gander at the details of all of this on my main page.

In other news, Guitar Hero II has destroyed any hope I once had of playing a real guitar like a motherfucker.
