What's up with Dites this summer?  Here's the 411:

1!  In order to celebrate Allison's glorious return to the glourious U.S. from glorious Mexico, we will be PLAYING SHOWS.  Yes.  Because that is what we do.  Here are our performances for JULY:

JULY 3rd @ CACTUS CLUB w/ DAN DEACON and a bunch of other rad bands...9:30pm. 
-I have no idea how much the admission is for this show.  We were contacted by Dan Deacon about playing the show, to which we of course said an enthusiastic "yes", but really, we know little else except that we're playing.  You should definitely come, as it may be fully possible that we will otherwise be the only females in the room(It's happened before...), and you KNOW how we love the cameraderie of our sisters.

JULY 21st @ the SHOREWOOD LEGION HALL...5:30pm $6
-This show starts early.  Why?  Becasue it's a BRO-B-Q, baby!  Come have summer fun and grill things while listening to tons of wicked electronic music from our beautiful selves as well as a bunch of other nice people, like J+J+J, BRONZXYLOPHONE, and the always inimitable SAMWELL!  We think this show will be lots of fun.

2!  New comps from States Rights Records are here, and available for sale from our hot little hands.  It's a double disc comp, 38 songs, 36 bands, including DITES DONC!, all new and unreleased material, all made for the comp with a very specific challenge. The artists were challenged to take a formative love of theirs (mostly music but a couple non musical) that had at some point become somewhat shameful (in their own eyes or peers or the critical public opinion) and to make a new song that embraces and pays a loving tribute to that GROANish influence.  It is $10 and worth every stinking penny.

3!  We are gearing up for the SOCIAL EVENT OF YOUR LIFE!!!! as we make preparations for LET IT BLEED, a two week festival of all things fantastic and female, right here in our own little hood.  NEIGHBORS Gallery will be host and home to TWO FUCKING WEEKS of lady-gasmic fun.  From AUGUST 11th through AUGUST 28th, all day, every day, there will be bands, plays, films, workshops, discussion groups, hang outs, crafts, gallery shows, drag shows, weird performances, and outcries of LOVE and Admiration for female humans!  We will be playing as DITE DONC!, on at least one of these dates, as well as being constantly present for all sorts of other shit, as we are organizing this whole she-bang. 
If you want to help out, play a show, do something fun with us, WHATEVER! then...
 We want all the ladies in Milwaukee to jump in and OWN this shit, because it's OUR PARTY!

OMG!  Dites Donc! have been so busy lately!  We thought you might appreciate an update...

* * * * * GROAN ZONE* * * * *
We've just finished a new song for a comp that will be out soonishly on States Right Records.  The comp is tenatively titled Groan Zone, following in the tradition of past SR comps Own Zone and Bro Zone.  In homage to the title of the comp, we have done something we never do.  We made a song about our feelings.
Uh, sort of.
The song is called "I'll only play Xiu Xiu Songs If You Break Up With Me".  We'll get it up here soon so you can hear it.
 
* * * * *I LOVE CO-OPERATION!* * * * *
Allison & Lindsay have just finished a grueling round of grad school applications, as we are attempting to get out Master's in fine arts together in the fall.  As all y'all who know us are aware of, we've been doing projects together for a long time under various guises (Fash Attack!, Connexxxion, Reflection, Dites Donc!...) and now we want to do projects together while getting our MFA at the same time.  To this end, we've created a blanket moniker for our of our many projects together.  Friends of Dites Donc!, meet I Love Co-Operation!  Awesome! 
Will the grad schools we apply to think it's awesome?  The jury is still out.  So far at least, they all seem a bit confused by us, which we're interpreting as a good sign.
Ohmigod, and also OMG?
Not simply satisfied with resting on our laurels and watching YouTube after finishing all those wicked grad school apps, we've started work on a new project, just for the ladies, so if you know any ladies, or if you are a lady, you can take part in this...we think it's fuckin' sweet...
This idea came to us the other day while we were celebrating being done with grad school by eating a huge pizza at Pizza Shuttle. 
Basically, we're trying to build a resource guide for all of the amazing women we know. Being crazy-active women, we realized how daunting it can be to do it all yourself, and we have been longing for awhile to find a way to connect with other like-minded ladies. The idea behind the guide is that it will be a directory of fabulous women who were willing to share their knowledge, skills and resources with others in order to build a strong community of awesome ladies doing amazing things! Only women who participate in the project will get a copy of the resource guide when it's finished.

We're super-psyched about it, and if you are also super-psyched about it, and also consider yourself female, you can totally be a part of it.  Just go here, and add I Love Co-Operation as a friend.  Tell us you're down with it, and we'll send you a short survey to complete.  Fill it out, and TA-DA!  Like magic, sometime in March you will receive an attractive and useful directory of awesome women in the mail, with which you can get advice, make connections, procure help for your projects, and meet other awesome women.

We are very excited, both sexually and otherwise, to announce that we will be playing a show right here in Milwaukee on MARCH 20th with our totally awesome cohort TOTALLY MICHAEL, the only boy we know that can rock a pumpkin costume like he was Prince in those buttless pants.  Could it be love?

We don't have a lot of the deep details on this show yet, such as time and venue, but we will keep you SO updated, so keep checking back in with us, m'kay?

Ooh, thanks babies, for coming out on humpty hump day to participate in our freakin' awesome mid-week dance party.  We loved seeing all of your sweaty, smiling faces.
So.
Lots of peeps be like, "If Allison is moving, does that mean that Dites Donc! is, y'know, splitsville?"  Let us ease your worst fears, darlings. The answer to this question is: Fuck No.  We luuuuuv being your favorite band almost more than we love breathing.  Dites Donc! is not breaking up.  Damn, you think a little thing like living far away from each other is gonna break up a good thang?
We are spending the summer working on recording in St. Louis with our superstar producer Mike Stasny, (We are planning on having a whole fucking album for you to rock out to by mid-September.  Aren't you so excited?!) and playing some dates out in the world, including a performance at Plan-It-X Fest in Bloomington, IN, a week-long DIY music extravaganza that will also feature many of our amazing friends like Best Friends Forever, Marine Corpse, and The Prophet Doomlicker.  If all y'alls have some time and resources to do so, you should get your asses to Bloomytown sometime during the week of July 6th - 11th, as there will be many, many more bands, workshops, dance parties, fabulousness, etc.  Awesome!
