Hi Fab People. I M.C'd yesterday's Get A Floor Spot Session. Apart from Ken, who left early, and Ben, who didn't want to, everyone got two spots, with our Len rounding off the afternoon with a last song. You'll soon be able to read Clive's review here. This coming Sunday is our last session of the year, and it's going to be a good one! The FaB Christmas Party.

Hi Folks...Trevor and I officiated at last Sunday's session. Trev on hosting, and myself as reviewer. It turned out to be a very busy session with 12 solo or duos performing 36 songs! It was great to see a packed room, and am only sorry that we can't get more people to come to the guest sessions, as we have such good people playing. Our next Club In The Pub Session is on November 15th with "Whatever Next". Before that is another GAFSS this Sunday at 2.30 Click on reviews page Whatever Next

Fab Club Review 200909Hi All. We had a great afternoon's entertainment on 20th September. Our Guest was from Kent. Doug Hudson is a singer/songwriter/comedian,barn dance caller, Leader Of The Hot Rats Ceilidh Band, Comentator and P.A. announcer for Gillingham Football Club, Promoter of gigs and booker for Folk Clubs.
Still he had time to be our FaB Guest on Sunday,20th September. The audience was, unfortunately small, though those of us that were there enjoyed it tremendously.

Normally held on the third Sunday of the month, our Guest Sessions are held in the Pub's Pool Room Bar.We aim to present a variety of music, and recognise that lively performers are better suited to a pub situation than those who sing well, but are quieter. The Committee is considering the idea of having occasional paid Extended Floor Spots within the Get A Floor Spot Sessions that are usually held on first and fourth Sundays in the Back Room.

Occasionally we get emails from professional performers asking to be booked. My reply to them is simply this:We are a small gathering of music fans and most of our sessions are "Get A Floor Spot." Once a month we have a guest performer at these sessions.
A Committee decides who to have, and books people on the reccomendation of it's members. They perform for very little money, because its a great club. Therefore, with respect, there is little point in contacting us in the hope of being booked, when we don't know you.
If you happen to be in the area it might pay you to drop in for a floor spot. Best wishes..Sue
