2 awesome releases for you. read below and give us your money

We just received the Taco Leg 7″, Freemasons Hall, and it is now in stock in our store! click here to orderPerth, Australia, is a city of 1,650,000 that’s separated from the rest of Australia by over a thousand miles of outback. Perth is home to the Australian Football League’s West Coast Eagles, the late Bon Scott, and a lot of bored young people, like the three charming young men who make up Taco Leg. Instead of buying Marshall stacks and trying to play the Big Day Out festival, Taco Leg plays sloppy dirge-pop, indebted to the back catalogs of Subterranean, Kill Rock Stars and K Records. The A-Side of Taco Leg’s debut 7″ is their hit, “Freemason’s Hall”, which originally appeared on their Spider in the Mouth demo cassette. The take here is more aggressive than the original version on the tape, which Vice described as having “all the punch of a timid wigger on a rainy day, but seems to be the track that gets across all these fellows want to say.” A hypnotic, looping riff buzzes underneath Andrew Murray’s cryptic lyrics. B-Side “Sunbathing in Squalor” is a bit poppier, or at least more trebly, and features use of a cowbell. You wanna talk “weird punk”? Let’s talk “weird punk”.

FNU Ronnies’ Golem Smoke tape is having its US release on Fan Death Records, complete with 17 minutes of new material recorded just for the FDR release! This is their first full-length, and it’s ready to order now! click here to orderDon’t get me started on this one, folks. We are super stoked about this tape. While you may own the other versions (vinyl and imported tape, which both rule and if you don’t got ‘em, go find those versions now). We at Fan Death got a treat for you. The US issue comes with a 17 min b-side only found on this release. This is quite possibly the most epic thing the Ronnies have done yet, or the most retarded… you choose. Completely different art as well. While you may have heard “Watchful Eye” before, in conjunction with the b-side, this changes everything—trust us. Tape is a nice bridge (along with THE CHICKENS’ new tape) for the new FNU Ronnies first LP out sometime early next year.
November 12, 2009 - Thursday
Hey folks this is already half sold, so if you havent gotten on it do it now. Information on Pre ordering is below

Pre orders have now started on this: http://fandeathrecords.mybisi.com/product/194902/Puerto-Rico-Flowers--4-FDR-013-PRE-ORDER_1111423.html

this will more than likely be out even before our drop date, but any pre order will be notified of every step we take, so if there is delays you know first, but we've never had any delays (oddly enough) on anything we've put out thus far.

we are taking pre orders because 1. this will more than likely sell out (though it will stay in print, different vinyl etc each pressing) 2. it gives us an idea if we need to press more instead of waiting a month or 2 after first press to get more in.

please keep in mind though the drop date is JAN 19th. If there is a bump either way you will know. Please do not email us 2 weeks after pre ordering asking when it will be out. you record nerds gotta give it some time

Also to make things manageable for us, there will only be 100 pre orders. Once those are gone no more pre orders

we wanna do this pre order right, so please though feel free to email us at anytime. Pre orders are a bummer sometimes, but they also can be awesome, good things will come to those that are first.

Artist: Puerto Rico Flowers
Title: 4
Format: Twelve inch record (45 RPM)
Edition Size: 500 Copies
Catalog Number: FDR 013
Release Date: January 19, 2010

This is the debut ep from Puerto Rico Flowers and it is called 4 because there are 4 songs on it. If there were 5 songs it would be called 5. Bass/Drums/Synthesizer/Vocals found here. Slow songs not unlike a skinhead crying. John Sharkey III wrote and recorded them. He lives in America and Australia. Yes, he used to be in Clockclean Er but he also used to be a smoker. He gave that up a long time ago. Performances are seasonal and enjoyable. Thank you.

Let's Make Friends is streaming on the myspace now, and will download-able through iTunes and emusic in the next week

http://www.nextclues.com/index.php?affiche=L3JlY29yZHNfc2VsZWN0ZWQucGhwP2lkcmVjb3Jkcz00MjA0 The New Flesh s/t Fan Death Records 2009 My very dearest and tender, sweet noise, I love when you drag yourself through the mud, subject yourself to violence, trampling, stoning, and then ask for more. The New Flesh, a Baltimore group that excels in this audio disassembly, is an old specialist of this torturous device. But don't worry, they know how to satisfy you. Since 2002, The New Flesh have created a ravaged noise, a racket that sounds like a hairy cat, drunk and armed, sniping a pachinko before going back for Ted Bundy's ladybug. This Cassette — when I said five years ago that it was the format of the future, all the losers scoffed — is the first thing they released, in 2003, and the last thing they released, in 2009, initially on Human Conduct, now re-pressed 200 times (mind you, there will never again be more, so move your anus and get one), by Fan Death Records, for our great pleasure. It's slutty noise, agony. I don't know exactly how many acts of vandalism take place on the magnetic tape — in any event more than what's announced on the vile jacket — but the brain begins to fart and the missiles of a rare savagery, which understand what must be approximately the best bass sound in the world — I don't want to know how this thing (a demo?) could have been recorded... finally if, with a microphone that sways back and forth in the middle of a recording studio... and a tape recorder on the other side, here we have something that recalls the happy feelings one knew during the first listen of Thee Friendship Village EP by Godheadsilo. Possibly genius. Long life to the New Flesh. 9/10

Pygmy Shrews came to our attention after asking to play DNA TEST FEST II.  The guitar player looked like Milhouse wearing a ZZtop shirt so we weren't sure what to expect, but after their set and seeing them a few times after, we were pretty much blown away. "Lord Got Busted" was recorded during the sessions of Pygmy Shrews first LP "The Egyptian" on Wantage USA. Instead of beating you in the fucking face, this is more like giving you a curb stomp that happens over and over again. It pounds until there is nothing left to say but "fuck yourself, try to get off". The b-side is a cover of the Pussy Galore classic "Kill Yourself", which you probably should do anyways.

Fan Death is honored to re-issue the very first New Flesh release. Long forgotten by most, this release previews and instills  what would be a force in Baltimore for almost seven years and counting. While many are  just coming around to what The New Flesh were and are doing now, this tape can be seen as the connection and progression of mid 90s "noise rock" to full blown out harry pussy meets drunks with guns fucked up-ness. Only 200 copies of this will be pressed on audio tape, and will never be issued again.

Label/Buy: Fan Death Records
Listen: Myspace (although if you want to listen to a specific track from this 7″, you’d be better off going to Fan Death’s Myspace, linked through their site linked above)

If Drunkdriver’s full-length LP from last year, Born Pregnant, was not enough for you, then have I got some good news for you. in the Their new 7″, Knife Day, finds them pushing their already punishing hardcore sound to even higher levels. I don’t know if the single format suits these guys more or if the up-and-comers at Fan Death caught these guys at their best, but this single is Drunkdriver at their most focused.

Here is some honesty for you: I was (that last word is key) not a huge fan of Born Pregnant until I listened to this latest 7″. This single has sold me on Drunkdriver. Enough that I went back, revisited their LP and yes, you may now consider me a fan of this Drunkdriver. On Knife Day, it sounds like they have gone even farther in their mission to lead their listeners into pummeled submission. I hesitate to say that they’ve gone “all the way”, as that says that they have nowhere left to go. For all of our collective eardrums, I’m hoping that there’s still some unexplored level of sonic punishment they haven’t reached yet.
