Hey y'all,

Join us tomorrow for our last show of the DECADE!!  Our Christmas party is upstairs in Twisted Pepper, we're playing a set, with DJ sets from GPO, Al Le Galaxie, Bellajane, I Phoenix, Little X's For Eyes and (maybe) one or two more...

Expect Christmas oddities, choons aplenty and, well, a session basically, before we all retire to the family to be waited on for a few days...

Doors at 7.30, come down early and hang out, but stay late if you please?

Bodytonic's annual charity Christmas hoolie "Bring The Toys", in aid of Crumlin & Temple Street Children's hospital, returns on Saturday 12 December at POGO. Now in it's fifth year, this will be the first time that POGO has hosted Bring The Toys, with the previous events taking place in the Bernard Shaw & Pod, and we have put together one of the biggest line-ups for BTT so far. The idea is simple, to gain admission we ask you to bring a brand new toy (unwrapped) or pay eu10 without a toy. All the toys & donations are split evenly between Crumlin & Temple Street Children's hospitals, working to help sick children and their stay in hospital less distressing. Check out their websites at www.olhsc.ie & www.templestreet.ie

Downstairs in the basement longtime Dublin electronic stars Decal & Americhord will be playing a very rare live set together, while Joe McGrath dusts off his records and POGO residents Barry Redsetta & Donal Dineen play back to back for three hours. The Stage will be hosted once again by one of the country's top live music forums Thumped.com with DJ sets from Richie Jape and Delorentos, and a live band TBA.

Up in the Mezz it's the
Comic Cast crew with a specially themed exhibition for Bring The Toys entitled "All I Ever Wanted For Christmas" featuring cartoon work from local artists like Chris Judge & Gerry Hunt. The pieces will be on disply in the Mezz from 01-12 Dec and will be auctioned off on the night for the cause. Comic Cast will close the evening with a selection of DJs & live acts.

Finally we'll be having a bit of a bake fair in the Cafe with various Bodytonic friends & POGO regulars bringing in homemade buns, mince pies, Christmas cake, mulled wine & egg nog, free for all, no doubt getting your tummy lined for all the Christmas munch over the weeks ahead.

Current mood:  hungry
As November should be a busy month for us, outside of the live circuit we thought a quick heads up is in order!

Keep your eyes peeled for us in the current Hot Press issue, our single City Lights was reviewed and (thankfully) well received, which was nice...  Also we got to talk vintage video games
via the 'My Favourite Game' piece as I described my history in the Starfox squadron, where I've saved the Lylat system from evil scientist Andross on no less than 3 occasions (Super Nintendo, N64 & DS).  True story...

Unfortunately due to some scheduling issues/time constraints with the venue, we won't be playing with We Have Band on Fri 13th, but head down to the new night, Yours Truly, as we will be!

Sleep Thieves are recording a live session for Dan Hegarty/2FM on 30th November which will air soon after, 4 songs on the day, live and dangerous so we cant wait for that...  Last time I was out in Donnybrook I was 8 and got to stand inside Fortycoat's Flying Sweetshop (anyone?) so we're fully expecting to see Socky, or possibly Zuppy this time??

Finally, our video for City Lights is nearing completion, a first edit almost there so expect a barrage of comments to get all over to the page to view once its out over the next week or two...

The song is free free free to download here so get to it!

Thanks for all who came to our three shows last week at DEAF, late show at Whelans and the amazing Destructor's Manifesto night in the Tivoli, much fun had at each...

A little more info on the Destructor's Manifesto night on Friday 30th that we're taking part in, it sounds deeeadly which is why I'll let their own blurb speak for itself

"the Destructors’ Manifesto takes over Dublin’s Tivoli on Friday next, October 30. A music-and-film-and-art-and-photography-and-theatre-and-storytelling-and-stuff event, it will feature music from Robotnik, Global, Sleep Thieves, Seneca and Bangers and Mash; art from Maria Roche and Sarah Sheil, photos from Sinead Keane, a bunch of flicks and visual installations, a performance of The Boot’s on the Other Foot, a graffiti wall and a whole lot more. Kicks off at 7.30pm, admission is a tenner."

Tis fancy dress (as you would expect), there's a short play within the plethora of art, visuals and of course bands, drinks promo's and guaranteed good times I'm sure.

PLUS, given a slight change in the running order we're now playing last, right after midnight so everyone will be no doubt sloshed and out for dancing, just how we like it

See ya there!

Hey y'all,

We have a bizzay week ahead of us that we're looking forward to, we've 3 shows around Dublin, all with a different vibe and all promise to be a lot of fun!

First up we're playing at the Sunday Roast's DEAF festival special at The Globe this Sunday 26th (free entry), followed by the late show Upstairs in Whelans next Thursday 29th.  Finally we're playing at the DESTRUCTORS club night
on Fri 30th, part of the relaunch of the Tivoli nightclub which has been impressively revamped.  Robotnik & Cloud Castle Lake are on the bill, its fancy dress, 'nuff said!  We hope to see all manner of masked music fans and caped crusaders for that one...

Also, our first video (for City Lights) is currently being edited by Killian Broderick who has of course already released fantastic videos for Ham Sandwich and Le Galaxie so we're eagerly awaiting the first edit and hope for the release in early November.  Check back for more soon...

As part of the huge Beatles anniversary thats going on right now (cant wait for Beatles Rock Band), I-Con asked some bands that they've played to record a cover of a Beatles song of their choice.  We chose Daytripper and its on the show tomorrow with all of the other covers.

There's going to be some primo tunes involved, from some great bands so tune in, 9 to 11 tomorrow!

Yes indeedy, we liked putting our EP out and the many kind words from press and punters that followed, as it didnt involve any of the hair-tearing-out that can happen with releasing records, we're doing it again!

This time though its one track, City Lights, that has been held up as our 'total single' by kind gig-goers over the last glut of shows.  We're making it download only this time, as is the style at the moment, and to mark the release we're also shooting our first video with expert lensman Killian Broderick over the next week or two...

The launch is Sat 19th September in The Underground, Kennedy's with an electronic overload of a bill.  The awesome Holy Roman Army are in to mesmerize all and a personal favourite and rightly tipped electropop duo Nakatomi Towers are coming down from Belfast to get feet moving too.

Yes indeed...  We were profiled and the Tom Robinson 'Introducing' show on BBC 6Music on Sunday just gone.  A very nice thought that so many potential listeners could get their teeth into us, we've already had a few nice words and mails from the other side of the water from it!

Thanks to Tom's guest Ruth Barnes for the kind words and great profile, and picking Osumi to play.
