WUSSY MAKES MAGNET A MIX TAPE - 5/13/09
Read more here - includes full audio of mix tape and a free download of "Muscle Cars"
"Since 2001, singers/guitarists Chuck Cleaver and Lisa Walker have have created an X factor (that’d be their John Doe/Exene Cervenka-like vocal interplay) for Wussy, the Cincinnati quartet that brings bar-band grit to droning, almost jangly guitar rock. As the group prepares for a summer tour in support of its third album, Cleaver and Walker took the time to make MAGNET a mix tape with a broken-record theme: songs they find themselves singing obsessively and compulsively."

WUSSY - (s/t) NEW REVIEWS FROM SPIN & MSN
"For exposing ordinary life's flaming weirdness, you can't beat the shabby folk rock on this witty third album.. messy, seething passions in all their juicy splendor. - Jon Young
Robert Christgau's Consumer Guide Grade A: This is as brutal a relationship album as Richard & Linda Thompson's "Shoot Out the Lights."...spooked by Appalachian Cincinnati, their country-drone guitars and locked-in rhythm section never give up, not even on the slow ones. -

KEXP Seattle: Their most fully realized work on their 3rd and best album yet.. A number of standout songs combining distinctive imagery with dark raw emotion..
Washington Post: Few bands since the Velvet-steeped heyday of the Feelies, Yo La Tengo and R.E.M. have abandoned themselves so completely to the ebbing, flowing currents of droning guitars.
Cincinnati CtyBeat: A culmination of everything the band does well. The definitive Wussy release.
KEXP Twitter: I'm declaring the new Wussy, self-titled record a masterpiece!

Hi Wussy folk, we'd like to extend an official warm welcome to our newest member Joe Klug. Lineup changes don't happen in this band very often, so it's a pretty big deal for us. You may remember Joe from the Staggering Statistics, or maybe you've seen him in the newly re-tooled Me or the Moon.

And best wishes to Dawn Burman, who leaves us to begin a new life in Dallas after six long years behind the Wussy kit. She was a big part of developing the Wussy sound and we'll miss her.

In the meantime, we're writing new material and booking shows for this summer and fall. This summer it'll be east coast, midwest and south. Then the duo will be heading to the UK for a week in September. More on that soon!
