Well, I told you we'd see you in 2009...here we are. Sadly, no new album yet.

But we're about to (finally, for real this time) hand it in to mix. What happened was we had to re-record ALL the rhythm electric guitars. LONG story, but that and a few other things actually caused this album to take LONGER than the debut...sad, really.

When all is said and done, we'll have run these songs through 4 studios, we had to drop a couple of songs, we gained then lost a drummer, had to line up another drummer, Nikki had cancer/treatment, my wife was hospitalized for 2 months, we had to (as I mentioned) re-record 20+ guitar tracks, and, to top it off, we've had issues with members (I'm sure you've noticed Ed's "downgrade"...more on that later...we love him, we just arrived at a crossroads)...are we cursed, or what? LOL!

Anyway, depending on when the mixing studio gets to us, I'm HOPING and PRAYING we get this out in 1st quarter 2010....2010...sheesh...we're as bad as Def Leppard (without being rich...LOL!).

So, here we are. I hope you've all enjoyed the demo version of "The Fire Never Dies" we've had up for a bit now. We hope we haven't burned you all out with all this waiting & empty promises. We really do think about you guys all the time...we're embarrassed that its taken as long as it has on this second album. We're lucky to call you all friends and we hope you can hang around for just a little longer so we can get this new album in your hands.

Hey everyone...we realize it's been a long, long time since we started our second album. Two and a half years on and we're still not finished.We hate it. We're sorry. We're tired of giving you guys false hope and excuses. The truth is, we don't know when this record will finally be completed and be in your hands.

While there were legitimate reasons for some of the delay (Nikki's cancer treatments, Shawn's wife's hospitalization, other personal crises) a lot of it has been simply a lack of focus and getting sidetracked. Things simply took a lot longer than they should have. We had a false start with Marc on drums (we still love Marc, by the way...awesome guy!), then Nikki got sick and Shawn's wife got sick a week later. Since then, however, just simply a lot of ball dropping. Not going to bore you with details, but suffice it to say we're less than thrilled with how this has gone.

So, where are we? Well, Jamie King @ The Basement Studios has most of the final tracks in his hands. I say "most" because there are things Nikki and I have to re-track...don't ask. That won't happen, obviously, until after the holidays. Then Jamie has to find time in his crazy schedule to get us mixed/mastered. We still haven't started artwork. We had initially wanted to call the album "Momentum" but, haha, that's kind of funny now... So, we'll probably call it something else...don't know yet.

But, it is coming...we will finish it...you will have one....we just don't know when.

We're sorry we've kept you guys hanging for so long...sorry if we've let you down. We're sorry we've been kind of avoiding you (we've had nothing concrete to tell you)...it's all actually been kind of embarrassing.

We want you to know, as always, that we greatly, deeply appreciate each and every one of you!!! You still listen to the songs on the page, you still leave us comments, and we still get friend requests (some of them are actually people, too...haha!) and we love you for it!

So, this will be our last transmission until after the holidays. I wanted to remind you of a few things:

- Nikki's old band DIMAGE has released a CD...it's on Divebomb Records (a division of Tribunal) and it's killer! Visit his page to see how to get one...

- Nikki has also joined a cover band called GEAR 5...check them out and go see them if you're close by...

- Scott Board, as well as the other former members of DIMAGE (minus Nikki), has some new music with the band NO LOVE LOST...visit their page and show some love...the songs rock!

HAPPY NEW YEAR from LINE OF FIRE

Hey everyone...this is Shawn just wanting to tell everyone HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2007 came and went, but not without incident. Nikki had a serious health scare, as did my wife. Needless to say this took a LOT of attention off of LINE OF FIRE's second album. But thankfully, both Nikki & my wife made it through to the other side by the grace of God and a lot of well-wishes from you guys! We cannot thank you enough for it!! So, now that a tumultuous year is now behind us, it's time to look ahead to 2008!! 2008 WILL see new music from LINE OF FIRE hit the internet-waves (as air-waves have become a wicked expensive pipe dream for bands like us). We hope you like it as much as we do! Also, as a reminder, our debut is still available (in VERY limited quantities) on CD from Tribunal Records...go to TribunalRecords.net and hit thier store. You can also get the entire 10-song album on iTunes...so, if you haven't already, you can burn up those iTunes Gift Cards you got for Christmas on LINE OF FIRE! OR - There is also the LIBERTY N JUSTICE album Nikki & I were on. We co-wrote a song w/ Justin Murr called "My Sacrifice" on their latest CD Independence Day and this song (plus all the other ones on this album) is also available on iTunes. OK, guys & dolls...all my vocals are DONE!!

I spent 10 hours on Saturday singing the final 2 songs & adding harmonies to 4 others and, as of now, all of my vocal parts, lead & harmony, are FINISHED!!

The album, as of now, is about 70% finished. That sounds close, but there is still a lot of work to be done with drums, bass & solos...as well as Nikki & Ed's vocal parts.

I don't know when the album will see release. I wish I had more info on this front, but sadly, even if the album was 100% done & mixed right now (which it is NOT), it would be at least February 2008 before it was released. Right now, best case scenario, look for sometime in Summer 2008.

I can tell you that the record, like the last one, will be 10 songs. I can even tell you some of the song titles:

Give Me All
Undone
It Takes Time
Obsession
I Belong

There are 5 more, but that's all I'm giving you now.

As for the studio pics I mentioned, well shame on me, I forgot my camera...sorry! I'll see if I can get Ed & Nikki to take pics as they finish their parts.

So, this will be my last Line Of Fire update until I drag some info out of Ed & Nikki (after the Holidays) about thier progress! I'll also try & get some rough mix clips up as they are available...

In case I don't do another Blog/Bulletin, I want to wish all of you HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Could it be? A Studio Report?

Ok, this is Shawn. In case you don't know, I'm the singer here.

This coming Saturday, December 1, I will be hitting Ed's BluWynd Studios with my brother Nikki Dimage in tow to finish recording my vocals for the next LINE OF FIRE album. I have 3 songs to sing from the ground up and a couple of harmonies to add on a couple more. Then I am DONE! Yes! All my vocals at that point will be complete. At this point, the album will be about 70% recorded.

Who's playing drums? You'll have to wait and see!

Anyway, the album is shaping up to be 11 songs this time...not the 14 we were shooting for, but we don't want to try your patience with us any more than we already have.

Anyway...look for some photos from the studio come Sunday or Monday. They'll be good for a laugh if nothing else.
