The new studio album from Nosound

Formed in Italy in 2001, Giancarlo Erra’s Nosound create a seductive and original fusion of elements of progressive, ambient and post rock.

Regarded by critics and fans alike as one of the most interesting up and coming alt/art rock bands in Europe, A Sense Of Loss is their third album, the follow up to the 2008’s Lightdark.

Lightdark was described by Classic Rock (UK) as ‘more great stuff from new label Kscope’ and A Sense Of Loss builds on this album by introducing alternative post rock songs to Nosound’s ever evolving sound.

Giancarlo describes the album as a ‘move from the classic ‘rock’ or (or rock ambient) approach used in Lightdark to a more unique sound, with influences from more contemporary alt and post rock.’

To create this sound the band used less synths (any that were used were almost all a strict selection of vintage synth sounds) and more real instruments including a string quartet, leading to ‘an even more emotional recording than Lightdark.

Erra goes on to state, ‘The overall production and sound have moved to a more ‘natural’ overall sound, combined with some different sounds and approaches, a little far from Lightdark, but still distinctively Nosound (probably more now than before).’

The album was written, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered at Nosound Studio (Rome) by Giancarlo Erra. Additional production was by Paolo Martellacci, Gigi Zito, Alessandro Luci, Paolo Vigliarolo. Additional recordings made at PanPot Studio (Rome) by Gigi Zito and Diapason Studio (Rome) by Simone Satta.

This 2 disc edition of the album includes a DVD containing 5.1 surround and 24bit mixes of the album, alternative 'long guitar solo' version of Fading Silently, video and video footage, picture gallery and more.

A video teaser for the album is now online at www.asenseofloss.com and the album is available to pre-order from the Kscope store and will ship from the end of October 2009. All orders placed through the Kscope store will receive a exclusive signed postcard.

A Sense Of Loss. Giancarlo Erra has put a video teaser for the

A Sense Of Loss is scheduled to be released for the end of October 2009 on Kscope.
From the teaser you'll see and hear a few bits of music and from recent

Memories Of Machines is the name of the new project formed by Tim Bowness (No-Man) and Giancarlo Erra (Nosound).
Involving contributions from Peter Hammill (Van Der Graaf Generator), Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), Jim Matheos (OSI/Fates Warning) and members of the No-Man and Nosound bands, the debut album (likely to be called Warm Winter) was recorded over a three year period in New York, Rome, Småland (Sweden) and Norwich (UK).
The album is almost complete, just to finish a few things on mixes and recordings. Even if still no record label or official release date, I'll post soon a teaser video to let you taste what you'll find on it..

Even on this project, waiting is almost finished..

Hi all,

as always there are periods when it seems everything stopped

or 'idle', but as you know with Nosound....it's just the quiet before

the storm! A lot of things to say, a lot of news for this 2009 year..

First of all we finally have our first, high quality, long and short sleeve

tshirts of Lightdark album:

http://www.burningshed.com/store/nosound/

They're available in several sizes and types, all with a big print

of the Lightdark cover on the front, and name of the plus

two lines of lyrics of 'From Silence To Noise' on the back!

We're thinking of selling these online until the new album and

new merchandise will be out, so hurry up if you want one  :)

Please notice these are not cheap diy digital print tshirts,

but high quality Fruit of the Loom med and heavy weight

100% cotton shirts.. we always care about quality.

Then I'd like to post you the link to my own Facebook profile,

where you can often find some exclusive news, comments and photo,

even before the official sites and social networks:

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=545844760&ref=name

I'll wait there also for your direct comments, sometimes I even

have time to check it more often then other websites!

Now speaking about some music and the new Nosound album..

We are working hard to play a couple of songs from new cd at

the summer festivals we'll play at:

July 5, 2009

Gong Festival, Parma, Italy

September 12, 2009

Ino-Rock Festival 2009

Teatr Letni, Inowroclaw, Poland

October 2, 2009 (still to be confirmed, among others..)

Cascais Prog 2009

Cidadela de Cascais, Cascais, Portugal

The songs and mixes of the new album are going really well,

probably even behind my own expectations. There's quite a change

and evolution since Lightdark, a shifting toward some more modern

sounds , loosing a bit of the evident influences to fall into a really

more 'unique' Nosound sound (funny eh?). We're all excited to release

this work, as we all think this is the real Nosound music today! The

wait to hear some material and promotion is almost finished..

Speaking of (hopefully!) good music, I'm back from UK and several days of

hard working with Tim Bowness...and yes we came out with a completed

and almost mixed debut album for our debut project! We have also name,

graphics, tracklist and everything else...just wait still a bit of time and more

details will be available online. A probable release now seems for the end

tof 2009, but let's see maybe time will play by our side....
