So I keep reading a certain "quote" that I'm accused to have said to People magazine re: "being the best race car driver ever" and I really want to get this off my chest.

The "quote" was completely taken out of context and was made to sound like something completely different than what I was talking about. The quote was.... "I don't want to sound conceited, but I don't think there has been an actor or celebrity-turned-racecar driver that has made it as high up on the racecar circuit as I have," he says. "So I don't think there's anyone who can keep up with me. And that's just me being honest."

That makes me sound like I am saying I am "the best ever!!! And no one could ever beat me!!! Or that I'm soooo accomplished as a race car driver..."  which is not at all what the conversation was about.  The interviewer kept asking me about racing other "celebrities" and "which celebrities I thought could beat me"... so my response was:  there aren't any other "celebrities" that are racing at the level I am right now.  I race cars at a very high, professional level, and that there aren't any "celebrities" that could keep up with me.  I don't want to race "celebrities"... that's not exciting to me, nor what I am trying to accomplish as a race car driver.  I am trying to be the best driver I can be, and remember, I am having the time of my life doing this!  I am working really hard to learn and compete against some of the best drivers in the world, and I take it very serious!

Let's look at the positive as well... I chose to put acting on a hold indefinitely to do something that I am more passionate about.  I'm following my dreams!  Which is something I hope others look up to and do for themselves...

Instead of being the "typical Hollywood actor" who ends up in rehab, or unhappy... I'm doing what makes me feel complete.  And I feel that I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to be able to pursue my passion.  I moved from Los Angeles to Scottsdale, AZ to fully pursue this and to keep away from certain "dramas" that come with being involved in Hollywood.  I think that should be viewed as a positive...

Now, because it was PEOPLE Magazine who was conducting the interview, the questions were all "celebrity" oriented.  So I get it...  But I was made to look like an asshole who thinks I'm the greatest actor-turned-racer ever.  I don't want to "say" I am the best actor-turned-racer...  I want to keep working hard enough and keep progressing as a driver so I "PROVE" that I am a great race car driver, regardless of the fact that I was a former actor.

I'm just tired of people talking about this when they don't really have the truth of the conversation between PEOPLE and I, so I wanted to help clarify this.

Just to make it public, coming straight from my mouth, I DO NOT have Lou Gehrig's Disease. I really don't even know what it is? But somehow a rumor started on some blogs that I have this disease. I am 100% healthy. Pretty sad that people make things up like this, to me, it's no joking matter. Especially when many people are suffering from this disease and take it very seriously.
