What will you be offering? _______________________________________________

We’’ll set up inside RCA, on the sidewalks and in the courtyard.  Bring your tent just incase.  We don’t make space assigments in advance.  Space will be passed out at 9am.  Space will be approx. 10' x 10' in the courtyard and approx. a table or two length inside and on the sidewalk. This is a sunshine or rain event.

No commissions.  Entry fee is $20.  Bring with you change....RCA doesn’’t accept payment, nor credit cards nor checks nor do we keep change.  There are two atms walking distance from RCA (wachovia and first citizens).

Bring food and beverage to share.  We like to call it, Potluck.  Artists and Folks who like art enjoy hanging out, eating and drinking.  However, there are a couple of places to grab a sandwich but keep in mind they close early, I haven’t convinced the rest./coffee house owners to stay open late.......yet.

RCA does not have a fridge.  We will have some ice to put in your cups for iced soft drinks/iced tea.  Please bring a small cooler with you if you need to keep your bev. cool.

Its ok to bring beer or wine....if you wanna get wasted, choose another place to do so and don’t give beer or wine to other folks, esp. to folks under 21 years old.RCA does not have license to sell beer, so we don’t.

Bring your table(s) and display fixutures with you.  Inside we’ll keep it open, so if you have big displays, you’ll be outside.  Bring your tent for the courtyard (i imagine there will be lots of hanging out in the courtyard).

We have metal chairs so bring your chairs for outside.  Think of comfort.

Bring things to keep you busy (plus it attracts potential customers to see what you are doing).  Drawing, craftwork, etc.

Bring your portable computer if you like, but keep in mind, electricity is limited.  We don’t  have wi-fi but if you need to run down and check your email, there are a couple of place to do that.

We’ll have live music that starts sometime in the afternoon and will go till 10:00 pm-ish.  It will be mostly experiemental/ambient music.  It isn’t pop, but it is creative and RCA is all about creativity.

Invite tons of folks to attend, direct them to the RCA myspace, make hand outs if needed and pass them out (or stop RCA and pick up a few we have pre printed).  Do as much grassroots as possible to let folks know so they will come out and hopefully buy your artwork.  I have the flyer as a pdf and a jpeg that I’ll be glad to email to ya’.

You may mail or drop off (slide under the door) this applicaiton.  Please include your $20 (well hidden cash since we don’t have a bank account, no checks or money orders please).

I like to let you know about RCA....We are a not for profit artspace that is sponsored by Downtown Smithfield Development Corportation that offers gallery space, microcinema, performance art, workshops, events, space and just about anything under the stars of art.

We participate in Smithfield's "THIRD ON THIRD" each month (Third Friday night of the month that focuses on Art and Culture from Third Street outwards) We hold our opening/reception during THIRD ON THIRD from 7pm until midnight.

Artists are welcomed to be part of each exhibition. There is a small gallery commission on sales, a small entry fee, we ask artists to attend the opening/reception.  Fees and commissions are discounted if an artist gallery sits.

The exhibition will run 26 days and then we switch out the exhibition, thus creating a new body of werk for the patrons who come to RCA (the idea is to keep them coming back and seeing something fresh, not the same thing they saw last month).

We welcome musicans/bands not only to play our opening/reception, but also to perform on a Friday or Saturday night. Filmmakers are welcomed to show their films...theater, dance, etc. all are welcomed!
