Leaves fall from the banana tree, I realize I'm not sure that I'm sure how to spell banana. I watch the sun make the leaves translucent, like large glowing emeralds. I sit by the window hearing the sounds of my apartment hallway, a TV softly mumbling to itself, an occasional creak of the old walls, a door opening and closing and footsteps walking out. The crickets outside the window are already humming on this summer's night, a warm night, cooling only in the darkest hours of morning. The red carpets line the halls, black doors spaced evenly amidst the river of red flowing down the center. Each black door leads to some other world. One has a staircase, and at the bottom step falls off into the sky, one holds behind it a jungle, full if beatles and vines and trees, so thick you can practically see it growing before you. Behind another lies a throne, a large cathedral of a room, with a queen with a sour face like she just sucked the juice of a bag of lemons. Behind another black door is a lions cage, where Tiveti, the lion is sleeping, behind another a circus of red and gold and elephants doing cartwheels, behind another a castle covered in vines and snow, where a red rosebush grows bravely right in front. Behind another black door is a painting that you can step right into, feel and hear the squish of the painted flowers in your hands, the green pigments mixing with the orange and red, and dripping down your arm. Behind another is a wizard, and across the hall, behind another black door there is a witch. Enemies they are now, once the best of friends. Engaged in a magical war, you don't want to be in the hallway whe these two meet by chance. You might go up in smoke.
And behind my door, in a white white room, is me.
And I just sit and watch these things.
And write them down.

New lyric! Wrote in London with Matt Hales... You tell me what you think it's about. ;-) It's interpretive on purpose.
SAILORS IN THE SKY
(K. Sweet, M. Hales)
....
Close your eyes
Fall back into my arms
Let my breath surround your beating heart
....
Flood the gates
Tears deep within your well
Let the beauty inject to your deepest parts
....
We are shooting stars
Shining in the dark
Oh that’s all we really are
....
We are sailors in the sky
Astronauts in flight
We are sailors in the night, yeah
Flying high across this world
Looking down at Earth
And we’re not coming down tonight, no
....
Taste my lips
The hollowness is gone
Time was lying, it was never true
....
Cause love is strong
A chain of purest gold
Wrapping round us, its just me and you
....
We are shooting stars
Shining in the dark
Oh that’s all we really are
....
We are sailors in the sky
Astronauts in flight
We are sailors in the night, yeah
Flying high across this world
Looking down at Earth
And we’re not coming down tonight, no
....
I see it on your face
A silent prayer of grace
Oh it’s all just space
We are shooting stars
Shining in the dark
Oh that’s all we really are
....
....
We are sailors in the sky
Astronauts in flight
We are sailors in the night, yeah
Flying high across this world
Looking down at earth
And we’re not coming down tonight, no
....
Some things last forever
Some things last forever

Hey my lovely ones,
As you may know by now, I have posted a brand new song on my myspace page called RSVP. It's only going to be up for one week! So you must check it out right away!
RSVP is about a love that was far far away from me, and I was reaching out to him through the page of lyrics. He heard me.
I wrote this song with one of my favorite artists, Matt Hales of the band Aqualung. Check them out, if you don't know them. They're amazing. Also with the amazing producer Justin Gray. Check him out too. :)
we are one- xo

New lyric!!! I know it's been awhile!!
MY AMAZING GRACE
A lion broke into my room
His gleaming eyes lit by the moon
He held me in his tortured gaze
Lost myself within the maze
I waited for the sound of love
A calling heart to pull me up
The thought of you was breathing me
A dream that only I could see
You, oh you
Are sunlight on my face
Oh you, oh you
Are my amazing grace
Oh you, oh you
Like shooting stars in space
You, oh you
Are my amazing grace
You held me like a mother’s child
A warm embrace a gentle smile
A kiss that makes the flowers swoon
I’m endlessly in love with you
My dear the lion whispers still
He pulls me in against my will
But in the night I feel you here
A light up in the atmosphere
You, oh you
Are sunlight on my face
Oh you, oh you
Are my amazing grace
You, oh you
Like shooting stars in space
Oh you, oh you
Are my amazing grace

Hello my friends... new song : )
I really like this one.
WORDS
All the times you broke my heart From little tears to missing parts And I have spackled and plastered Heart mending master I’m some strange work of art
The pieces left strewn on my desk You always liked to put my work to the test Well, I’m tired of buying New stitches and tying My fragile heart to all this mess
Still you’re knocking on my door Promise you won’t hurt me anymore What a trifle thing to say I’ve heard it all before
You’re louder than your words You think I haven’t heard You’re louder than your words These games are just absurd So I’m giving up on you You’re not worth what I go through You think I haven’t heard But you’re louder than your words Words, words
All the times I held your hand When you were lost wandering foreign lands I brought out my maps and I tried to make you laugh and Now you know just where I stand
Still you’re calling out my name Aren’t you tired of the same old places What silly girl I’ve been I know you’ll never change
You’re louder than your words You think I haven’t heard You’re louder than your words These games are just absurd So I’m giving up on you You’re not worth what I go through You think I haven’t heard But you’re louder than your words Words, words

Hello my loved ones,
New lyric! This one is a bit abstract. I know what it means to me, so I can't wait to see what you hear in it. I just wrote and recorded it with Guy Chambers the other day.
PICTURES AND NUMBERS K. Sweet
Sand slipping fast through hands Hands that are heavy and have held onto me since I breathed
And time, time has told it’s joke Well nobody’s laughing, and moments are passing with greed
I’m just a girl alone in a world I try to break through And pictures and numbers is all I’m amounting to I’m just a girl I don’t know the world Not like you do And pictures and numbers was never enough for you
Oh, I needed you
Love has a different face The shadows are longer, the words come out stronger with age
But you, you weren’t bought and sold Don’t let them take me, corrupt and portray me this way
Cause I’m just a girl alone in the world I try to break through And pictures and numbers is all I’m amounting to I’m just a girl I don’t know the world Not like you do And pictures and numbers was never enough for you
Oh, I needed you Oh, I needed you

Current mood: drained
Hello my friends,
So I've decided in blogs I'm not going to post my thoughts about sandwiches, weather, whether or not leggings are in, politics, etc. but rather lyrics that I just wrote. Lyrics are my children, I love to craft and shape them as much as I love music itself. So therefore, I'm going to post some of my favorites and when the record comes out later this year, you'll already know the words. : ) And I think you will be more able to hear what I truly mean to express. I'd love to know all of your interpretations of the songs. So here goes!
ROBIN SQUARE Lyrics by K. Sweet (ASCAP)
At Robin Square Fresh as the ribbons in her hair And she’s walking there Watching butterflies in warm air
And she’s all alone Waiting for the boy she knows But when he doesn’t show Heartbreaks hitting like a thrown stone
And the pain in her face She tries erase just stays there Cause she’s too young to fight But too old to just close her eyes
And I said, Oh, just take my hand I will hold you No one has to see the tears you cry And I said, Oh, you’ll be all right Love is hard on fragile hearts And I’ve been there exactly where you stand Between your heart and hands
At Robin Square There’s a man with a piano And he’s sitting there But he cannot play a note though
And the pain on his face It’s usual place just stays there Cause he’s too old to learn But too young to not feel the burn
And I said Oh, just take my hand I’ll play with you I won’t let them take away your pride And I said Oh, you’ll be all right Love is hard on fragile hearts And I’ll be there exactly where you stand Between your heart and hands
At Robin Square I am sitting on park bench And I’m watching them As they’re turning around life’s bends
I don’t claim to know The paths that they chose for certain But one thing is clear That I can hear little hearts break
And I said Oh, just take my hand I walk with you I alone will catch the tears you cry And I said Oh, you’ll be all right Love is hard on fragile hearts And I am there exactly where you stand Between your heart and hands
Love,

Poem I wrote this evening... it may end up in a song of mine ; )
KS
DEAR LOVER K. Sweet
Dear lover on the hill Waiting in your window sill How's the weather way up there Can you see me standing here?
You are a rose that blooms in spring Sharpest thorns I've ever seen If I pick you I will bleed Why are you so afraid of me?
Dear lover at the gate How long will you make me wait? My heart was sent to you by mail Since my love did not prevail
Locked away behind the wall Behind a door inside a hall Am I just a foolish girl Like all the rest across the world?
Dear lover I am here I will make it very clear I will love you from afar I would rather crave your heart
And stand here in the rain Vines curl round my veins Than turn and walk alone You may be far and hard as stone But dear lover, you are my only home
