Dear Diary,
After 12 months of highs, and a couple of lows, The Ceilings will perform the final gig of the year on December 17 at Carpe Diem.
Those who came to the New Roscoe gig will have heard two new numbers, Vinyl Whispers and I'll See You on the Way Down. You will hear them again at Carpe by the looks of things.
As it is the end of the year it feels right to say cheers to anyone who came to a gig, listened to the songs online, helped us record, loaned us money or generally helped out in any way.
Carpe Diem provides a nice focal point to sign off for a few weeks and brings a nice conclusion to the year.
Next year there are a few plans afoot but the main intention will be keep writing better songs and keep playing better gigs.
Hopefully in 12 months time there will be a lot to talk about.
See you on the 17th.
Mark

Firstly say hello to Steve our new drummer. We forgot to put on here that he had joined us and we're sorry.
Hi Steve and welcome. We've already had a couple of gigs with Steve in the hot seat and they were cracking (even if I do say so myself)!.
Also you might notice that the songs have changed a bit. We have at last been in the studio and recorded proper versions of three of our songs.
Long day at ivolv studios in Bradford Thanks to Grant for putting up with us all day. Great bloke with some truly funny stories to tell .....
So have a listen and enjoy...

See you at a gig soon....when we get round to booking some!

Ok, we know that the songs on here sound a bit ropey. Recorded at prcatice o a handheld MP3 recorder they don't really catch the sound. So Monday we are going into the studio to do some proper recording. Hopefully 3 tracks will be sorted so you can have a listen and we hope enjoy. Watch this space. Si.

After spending the initial few months of the band's life with drummer Chris he has decided to move on.
Accordingly we are now seeking a new drummer.
Ideally we want someone solid, dependable and capable with a touch of flair.
Above all we want someone enthusiastic, who will contribute positive ideas to the songwriting and have a love of performing live.
The band has no delusions of grandeur nor a list of required influences.
It does have a strong set of original material and four good musicians seeking the finishing touch.
Please get in touch if you are interested.

Hello,
First of all massive thanks to those who came to the gigs at The Primrose and Cardigan Arms - your attendance was greatly appreciated.
In the next few days we play the New Roscoe in Leeds on Monday May 25 followed on Thursday May 28 at The Loft in Castleford.
Plan after that is to get a decent recording done and keep thrashing out new material ahead of the next scheduled gig, which is not until July.
The new material you ask? It's pretty good so far, lots of ideas floating around at the minute. Our latest tune, Tick Tock, is pretty special. Depending on our mood you may hear it at the above gigs.
In the meantime if you've got any comments please leave them on the wall thing or drop us a line.
Lots of love, The Ceilings x
