Art Opening Party This Friday January 9th, 2009 @ 6pm!

Welcome to 2009, it's time for another art opening party at the Chapterhouse. This year we've altered the schedule for the art shows. We've extended them to three months to give you more time to absorb their awesomeness. So let's welcome Jon Reinfurt and Rachel Reinfurt into the Chapterhouse family on Friday, January 9th at the spot where we'll share some wine and sit back and kick it. It's going to be totally sweet. Cathleen Miller is a poet and artist who lives and works in Philadelphia. Her poems play with the ways that subjective experience is shaped by culture, nature, expectation and memory. She is interested in the intersections and overlaps between past and present, subject and object, history and narrative. She gains inspiration from her work as an archivist, her time spent in the garden watching seeds sprout into food, and an ongoing conversation with the world. Some of her work can be read in EOAGH and Fanzine.

Laura Jaramillo is a writer from Queens and for Queens, but has tremendous nostalgias for other places too. She is the author of B (unpublished) and The Reactionary Poems (Olywa Press).

Brandon Holmquest: Look, I can't keep writing these bio things in the third person like they were written by somebody else. My publicist or something. It's more than a little disingenuous. So, I write poems and stories and essays and make translations, as the mood takes me, and edit a journal called Calque with my friend Steve. Greetings everyone!

It's that special time of year, which means new art at the Chapterhouse. This time around is a very special art opening party, combining our new art show with the Three Year Anniversary!

We're entering year four with two of our favorite artists: Agnes Montgomery, who will be having her third show at the shop, and Rob Cortez with a fresh crop of new mobiles, so don't forget to look up!

summer is officially over! we know this for a couple of reasons: school is back in session, the weather is cooling down and chapterhouse is celebrating its new art show. this time chapterhouse has teamed up with SCREEN N SPOKES where bikes and art come together to benefit the national ms society. so stop by this friday night the 12th between 7-10pm and celebrate by buying some cool prints for a great cause. hope to see you!!

Here we are again, almost midway through the year. We have an
exceptional show this time around with new artist Rich Kelly and
returning guest Matthew Smith...along with our residents Lisa Graf &
Rob Cortez. So grab a glass and put on some weird clothes and we'll
stand around and act cool, at the next the next art opening at the
Chapterhouse! Wine and cheese, beans and beats.

2008 is speeding by already & we've got 2 new artists warming up the shop for
spring. Danielle Rizzolo and Lisa Weber will be here with Rob Cortez and Lisa
Graf holding down the fort during the new show. We'll be having the usual wine
and snacks on friday March 14th. (second Friday) from 7-10pm. You can shake
it and look at cool art. Or you can just lounge. it's your call. see you then.
