TOUR DIARIES

Hey gang....so here's what we've been up to....keep checking back cos we continue to add entries to these tour diaries as we rock around the world. For more ancient entries, check out the Tour Journal section at www.alabasterbox.comRock on,AB Behind a van......somewhere... 12th July 2007How's this, on our tour we sold out of AB T-shirts and had to do a detour to Nashville for more. We got the gear, had a snooze, and jumped back in the van, for an all day drive to Alabama. After the show we jumped back in the van for an all-nighter home. Right on queue, the van decided to kick the bucket (Aussie for 'break down') only 5 miles from home. So it's 3:28am and we're pushing this beast up and down hills in the wee hours of the morning. Due to the dire circumstances, Naarah was finally allowed to sit in the drivers seat and steer, while the lads provides the man-power. Good times gone bad. I'm sure there'll be a myspace vid about this debarcle. Oh well, I guess it could have been worse. It could have been raining. Oh that's right.....it was. Bristol, VA, USA 10th July 2007 Lots of miles under the belt already this tour. Last night we finished up in Pennsylvania at a the charming town of Chambersburg...and today we zipped into Bristol. We were greeted with a MASSIVE pre concert dinner! LOTS of KFC, Pumpkin Pie, and all things "American". Once back at the hotel, we had the biggest game of "Marco Polo" in the pool. We spotted people on the 8th floor looking down. I think we may have been a little loud for that time of night...all the same, we invited the rest of the pool to join in and we all had a great time. Let's do it again Bristol! Irwin, PA, USA 7th July 2007Tonight was pretty funny. After the concert we got lost on the way to the restaurant. We had about 20 people there waiting for us but we thought it would be a ten minute ride to our hotel for a pre-dinner check-in. Over an hour later we get to the restaurant...yikes. Anyway the steak was great, and the company was awesome, and we even got the youth leader,Frank to challenge the waiter to an arm wrestle. He's massive. He won.
Ichthus Festival, Wilmore, KY, USA 15th June 2007 It's our fave USA festival, Ichthus. This year was the biggest and best! We played on mainstage alongside Newsboys, Switchfoot, TobyMac, Reilent K, Third Day, Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Phil Keggie, Barlow Girl and Skillet. Our set was even recorded by 'God TV', which will be aired later this year. To top things off we won the annual Ichthus "Alabaster Box vs. the World" dodge-ball competition...of course :P
Oxford, MI, USA 11th June 2007 Seriously, the setting here is like a movie. What a beautiful place.? We are playing a charity concert called 'Band Aid', to raise money for single Mums (Moms) here in Michigan. Our new friend and promoter Frank has a wonderful program reaching out into the community, it's an honor to be part of this event. An interesting little fact, we are the first band to play in a new $4 million building...oh, and we learned a new game called "Corn Hole". It's all about throwing a little bag in a hole, yeah yeah, it sounds boring, but it's actually super fun. I think we should get one.
30,000 ft up....somewhere 28th May 2007 Another early morning flight...little Isaac (Matt's son) and I were having a little rest until Naarah took this pic which woke us up...so I thought I would do another tour diary...hang on, Isaac wants to write something: "& 8987we*(D*&^@JJ" ...I think that is baby for: "Greetings, I'm having a great flight, although we're a bit tired from our very heavy touring schedule in California. However, I am being groomed to be a great road dog...one day I want to be named 1 Roadie in the world". Anyway, back to me, we're not alone on today's flight, the band 'Stella Kart' is also here. I think Isaac was worried that the runway was not long enough because of all the heavy band gear on this flight...but so far we're still alive.
Santa Maria, CA, USA 14th May 2007 Tonight's show is just up the road from the world famous "Never Land Ranch", the home of Michael Jackson. As I chomp on some amazing tri-tip...I'm wondering if I should pull out some MJ dance moves during our set...say the moonwalk or something. I wonder if MJ will come to our concert? Now that would be funny. Ok gotta run, dinner is over, the opening band is playing, and I need to get ready...Naarah is now calling to run through our set...I hear we're going cart racing tomorrow...
California, USA 9th May 2007
Tonight was one big Latino party!!! We had a ball (Aussie for 'fun time'). They say Aussies know how to have a good time...well after tonight I reckon Latinos know how to party! It's good to check back in to California where the palm trees are plentiful and the sun is hot. We have about 20 dates here in CA over the next three weeks, it's a jam packed schedule...we've been looking forward to this tour. Let the games begin... Sarahsville, OH USA May 2 2007 I can't believe I jumped into the Columbus crowd and danced!! What was I thinking…now that I've had a few good sleeps I'm hoping that not too many pictures were taken…tonight was our last show of this tour, tomorrow we head back to Nashville for three days before we fly out to California for the next tour…what a night we had!! The venue was jam packed, the Sherriff's made sure everything was safe, and we were given the green light to enter the stage…from note one the crowd roared, we loved every minute of it…but do you know what the best moment was? Seeing around 100 people stand to make a decision to follow Christ…good times! California, here we come.
Columbus, OH, USA 29th April 2007 I just like saying this word…Columbus…its great…so I've been saying it a lot. We had a great time tonight, a very intimate setting. Due to my severe jetlag, for some strange reason I had the urge to get down into the crowd and dance with them during one of our songs…so mid way through when Sam came back to rock out with me I said "do you dare me…" of course he said "YES", so I jumped off stage and started busting a move…the look on Naarah's face was priceless…the look on everyone's face was priceless…Columbus Ohio will hold fond memories deep within all our hearts:)
Franklin, TN, USA April 14 2007 It's not all too often that we get to play in our 'home town', Nashville's Franklin. Since being here for over a year now we all felt it was about time we put on a show for our neighbors and friends. As many of you know, Franklin is pretty much where the whole Christian music industry is based, so in this town you never know who is going to be a your concert! Being the new band from Australia, we were all a wee bit nervous…I'm not a name-dropper so I won't say who came…enough to say we were delighted with the turn out for our first Franklin concert! Thanks to all our friends who came as well, we had a blast. I better get some sleep cause in a couple of hours I'm jumping on a plane to Aussie for a few days!
Orlando Airport, FL, USA March 21, 2007 Woohoo! There's no place like Florida…plenty of buffets, beaches, warm weather, retirees…what more could you ask for except some rocking concerts? And would you know it, we got it all! We have had an awesome time over the past two weeks playing in the warm cities of Deltona, Plant City, Clermont, West Melbourne, Gainsville, St Petersburg, Clear Water, and Orange Park. Each night we would travel back to Orlando, with Disney World and orange groves as far as the eye can see. As you can imagine our down-time was full of fun! > Americus, GA, USA
Enterprise, AL, USA Feb 22, 2007
Three promotional shows later and the big night for the Enterprise gig is finally here. Our green room looks more like a plush room from a European castle, it's massive! Earlier we found it a little funny, cause the front of house bathrooms are in the next corridor and we can hear what all the girls are saying about us...they would die a thousand deaths if they knew we could hear them...good times Enterprise!
39,000ft up somewhere 22 Jan, 2007
> We're 10 hours into our flight from Brisbane, Australia to Los Angeles, USA. As you can see from the pic, we're nearly there...I just paused my movie to flick to the map channel to see how far away we are...you should see the sunrise over the Pacific ocean from 39,000 feet up! God is amazing. It was great seeing family and friends back home as well as doing a few shows. We're all pretty excited about this year and what lays ahead in America...
