Barkley's Barnyard Critters
Mystery Tail
LOAD 089 dvd
Barkley's Barnyard Critters is the continuing saga of rocker dog Barkley and his band of animal friends. In this latest installment, soaring popularity equals rising tension, ultimately forcing Barkley to quit the band and embark on a drunken voyage of discovery through a sea of confusion. While Barkleys away, record label CEO Snakeworthy Price comes up with a devious scheme to replace Barkley and make colossal profits. Watch as Barkley claws his way back to the Battle of the Bands to lay it all on the line!
Animation on the this release is hand drawn in parts, uses 3-D animation in others, and features live action characters in exciting sequences reminiscent of the BANANA SPLITS. This will appeal to fans of the CARTOON NETWORK, SPONGEBOB, and the like.
"Mystery Tale" is an hour long animation by Brian Gibson, the third part in this series thus far. The first was a small run video tape in 2001, the second came out on 2004's "Pick a Winner" DVD (LOAD 050).
Metalux and John Wiese
Exocteric
LOAD 082 cd
release date: 4/18/06
A cold journey awaits you in this collaboration between electronic duo METALUX and sound levitator, JOHN WIESE. Vocals are chopped, and oscillations move themselves into long sheets of ribbon thin taffy confusion. The middle ground in this collaboration has a coldwave appeal that clicks with fans of throbbing rhythmic noise like WOLF EYES and FORCEFIELD. This record is not noise however, more a full blown Kevorkian cocktail of reverberated malaise.
The seven tracks flow one into the next with a rebounded tape smack that does not forget foot bounce, while keeping the main dome fully occupied with variable speed vox fukkk and equipment groan. This one is for the heads and takes notions of either artist to places where neither is safe going. This is for late nights and early mornings.

Yellow Swans
Psychic Secession
LOAD 090 Ccd
release date: 4/18/06
Beaming down from the sky like a ray of white-hot light intent on saving us from outselves, the Yellow Swans come up with their second studio record. Thier other record was "Bringing The Neon War Home" on narnack Although the band has countless releases documenting their live aktions, "Psychic Secession" is a work of uncomprimising vison, weaving together all sides of this duo's 20-sided die. Moments of quiet hum but up against crunchy speaker burners to make this record essential listening.
The last few years have seen the Yellow Swans coat the planet with live dates in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. Songs on this record were road tested in front of this planet's hungry eyes.... you might have heard "True Union", which has been a staple of many of these live sets.
This record was originally released in Austrlia by the Numerical Thief label, and comes to you on LOAD in a remastered format. The new master will allow you to hear the whispered hush, disjointed polyrhthymic attack and squealing how, in a new manner, as the Australian version is a bit noisier.

Ovo
Miastenia
LOAD 091 lp/cd
releasedate: 5/2/06
Milan, Italy's Ovo are a two piece using guitar/violin cellos and drums that dump a toxic sludge with an unmistakable butterscotch scent. This sludge is in line with contemperous doom salesmen such as BORIS and the MELVINS, with the addition of vox stylings that take this record to a new place entirely. The sounds coming from Stephania Pedretti's mouth as she sings go from lullaby sweet to terrifyingly raw in short intervals. Instrumentation on this platter is diverse, with guitars, bass, drums being added to the mix as well as music store stand-by's like harmonica, piano, and cello.
