Let me start out with wishing everyone Happy Holidays!

May ALL your wishes come true!

The Holiday season is a time to share with family and friends, a time to reflect, a time to show how much you care about others. A time for loving, caring and compassion.

Right,.....and it seems like people forget the rest of the year!!!

But hey, that's a completely different topic - maybe for another blog, back to my original thought...

So, I am single this Christmas, nothing really new, been single for the past few Christmases and it don't not get any easier.

My entire life has changed over the past few years. Those of you who know me know how! I don't have family around. I have some wonderful friends - they ARE my family (You know who you are!!! love yah!) but unfortunately they are scattered around the world and nowhere close.

I have single friends who get together with family and then there are those single friends who have, like me, no family around,.....and then there are the single guys,....hmm,...in a category on their own,....smile,.....looking for a Christmas date!

So – every year the question I have for myself is: How will I spend Christmas this year???

I love my friends - the ones I consider family, I love them dearly. And while they try their best to make me feel like family - and I feel that they ARE the closest to it - I am reluctant to spend Christmas with them.

Wishing I could have a family on my own, is it maybe a little jealousy... I am sure it is. What a bad thought!!! Jealous of what they have together, memories ...... and all those years together, hmmm, I think it would hurt me to look from the outside in,.....I don't know if I am strong enough to do this - maybe next year,.......

I could hang out or get together with my single friends, ...maybe have dinner, ....go hang out at some bar or club and be around people I love and care about and who are, like me, .. single......sounds like a plan.....?!?

....and then I could always accept one of the invitations which have been extended to me by some of the single guys I know,......hmm,.... a date on Christmas,.....interesting thought. So, would it be special because it is a special occasion??? ...or would it be just a regular date, (of course all dates ARE special! but nonetheless just a "regular" date?) And what do you do on a Christmas date? .....and is it an indication for the guy that he is "super-special"....??? ...hmmm

Of course I could also just spend it alone - maybe reflecting on the past year, feeling sorry for myself ...naaawwwww - NOT!!!

So – this year I did something different, I kept myself and a DEAR single friend of mine (HEY gurl – you are THE BEST!!!) occupied by having my car towed back into town (for those of you who didn't know – my car broke down last week about 40 miles away from home!) We spent a total of 5 hours getting to the car, waiting for ADAC (something like AAA here in Europe!) and then having the car towed back to my town, then getting home.

I felt so bad that it took so long, I know that people have things to do on Christmas Eve,….while I was so grateful to my friend I didn't want to mess up her entire Christmas Eve, and then she said something amazing, she said that she is having more fun spending Christmas Eve with me, hanging out at a cold gas station, waiting for the tow truck then spending it with her mom.

I knew than that she is a true friend!!! Someone I can count on – and there are so few of those around!!! I can't thank you enough, girl!!! You have no idea what that meant to me.

ok, so in one of my last blogs  I talked about the one thing all men (the ones I know!) have at least thought about before - the FMF 3some.
