What can I say about the guy we all call Craig?? We can call him a son, a brother, a best friend, a Co- worker, a trainer. How about someone who has touched every single one of our lives in one way or another. Right now I would like to share some stories about the toughest man we all knew and the teddy bear who was inside of the same phenomenon. ..

Last night was the prime example of exactly who Craig was. So here we are, Sybil, Jackie, Aileen, Hike, Mike W., Winter and myself sitting at Chef Orient eating one of Craig's many favorite meals. We sat down at one of those tables where they cook right in front of you and other people who you don't even know are sitting right next to you. We get half way through our meal and we raise our glasses and decide to toast to Craig, who I believe to have been there with us. Sybil decides to share a story with us on the reason that Craig had decided to shave his head again. There was a woman in his past who unfortunately had Cancer. Along with her sickness she had to go through Chemo therapy. The 1st day of her treatment Craig had gone to the barber and had his head shaved with the exception of this lady's initials kept on the back of his head. He then proceeded to take a picture of the back of his head and send this photo to her. After she told the story & We toasted Craig's life, the 2 strangers sharing the same Hibachi table approached us & let us know that Craig had impacted their lives also.

But his caring for other people and being there for them in a time of need didn't just start a few years ago, it has been a personality trait of his since he was just a young boy. Last night when Winter and I were typing this up, we got a Myspace message from a childhood friend of Craig's. This story was explaining how Craig had helped him and his family during a fundraiser for his mother who had multiple sclerosis. The one thing this friend and Craig had in common the most was they both loved WWF. So the two of them decided to build a wrestling ring in their back yard and sell tickets to this wrestling match, the main match being this friend and Craig. Prior to the start of the match the 13 and 14 year old boys had a game plan (as we all knew, Craig always had some sort of plan up his sleeve) to where towards the end of the match they were both going to knock each other out of the ring for the count making the match even. The way I got the story was that at that golden moment Craig's friend had decided to try to win one over on Craig and get back into the ring. Well, Craig being Craig, he as well got back into the ring and dropped this kid with a flying knee to the chest. With the wind knocked out of him and on the ground, Craig went over to him and they wrestled around until the kid wrapped Craig up and the friends father did a quick 3 count making Craig loose the match. The gist of the story is that Craig's friend thought that Craig was going to be mad to his breaking the game plan, only to find Craig walking over to him and saying "hey man, are you ok"?? this friend describes his feelings about Craig to be a class act, even at age 13. not only was the class shown by Craig not being angry but also by a 13 year old kid helping a lady who had MS.

The hardest part of this speech is to talk about what and who we all had lost, and who and what the lord had gained. The loss of us seeing the strongest man accomplish his gains in the gym on a weekly basis, or the possibility of Craig T. Viera being the worlds next strongest man. How about never being able to see his biggest work of art finished, his massive body with his own designs tattooed head to toe. We all lost a huge sense of security with Craig, weather it be one of our co workers and patrons in the nightclubs he worked and protected, or a client he had trained at the gym with the faith that Craig was going to make that person feel better about being them. A sense of security that when any one of us had to spill our beans and confide in someone having a secret that we just had to tell someone else, knowing that Craig would never sell us out. We lost being able to pick up the phone and have a solid shoulder to cry on. Craig was a motivator, someone who had the mentality of "stay strong, don't ever give up". And he never gave up, even when he had that motto tattooed on his body during one of the hardest points of his life, his father's illness and soon to be death. Craig was the strongest security blanket anyone of us had.

On a hard hand that we were all dealt with the loss of Craig Mack, we do need to remember all the smiles that landed on his face. This is a person that knew how to have fun, even at the expense of finding time in between his usual 80 hour work week. When it came time to play, that's exactly what he did and did it well.  Weather it was time for him to play on his motorcycle, take a vacation with a lovely lady or even his mother, beating someone's ass in madden, making his hummer the biggest baddest machine on the road, finding one last spot on his body to put another tattoo or piercing, collecting another signed sports memorabilia photo, card or jersey, meeting a celebrity who he would instantly win over (or intimidate) or stuffing his face with the foods he loved. What about  finding another absolutely gorgeous lady to romance. The smile on his face after benching 500 lbs was the most priceless ear to ear glow you would ever see and the best expression of self accomplishment. Even when he was younger playing basketball or any sport for that matter in school, when he played he played hard and played well.

Sybil, as strong as Craig was, you were Craig's rock. You are his creator and he was so happy and grateful with the life you gave him. I have to speak on his behalf and say that you and Eddie ( lord rest his soul ) did a job that nobody else could have done better. Everything that Craig had worked for, you and your well being were always his 1st priority. The moment that his stabbing occurred, his 1st natural instinct was to pick up the phone and call you. Craig was a lot of peoples security blanket, you were his. Sybil, you lost your son, but don't ever forget that you gained a bigger family than you had before Craig's death. You are not alone, far from it. As Mike, Mike Winter, and myself stand up here, we promise Craig and we promise you that no matter what, we will always do our best to carry out what Craig had intended for you. We will watch over you as three sons, along with Craig watching over all of us. Every day we will all go on with little things that will always keep Craig in our heads, weather it be seeing a Hummer on the road, a man smiling in the gym happy from his gains and accomplishments, hearing thunder in the sky's knowing that it is Craig working out in the heavens dropping his 150lb dumb bells on heavens floors, or just some big guy with tattoos and a backwards hat and a Chris Webber jersey on, your son will always be with us. I ask this of everyone here today, do whatever you possibly can to learn from watching the biggest toughest strongest soldier fall, and please help stop the violence in today's world. This was 100% unnecessary and should have never happened. Craig, we all love you and will never forget. Stay strong brother, and never give up. Never.
