With Stan out of the country the jammers just had to manage without him. Helen got set up with the help of Laz and Tom, with only two panicky (PA related) phonecalls to Italy.  Zoe and Rob had kindly agreed to front the jam and help keep order.
So, at the appointed time, away we went for 3 hours of jamming from 24 jammers in 12 different line-ups and 24 not quite all different songs. At least an equal number of listeners were there too.
Not only did we  hear some great blues, but also a jazz interlude, a couple of drum solos, several unsuccessful attempts to get the jammers to play in the key of F (it's called F for a reason y'know!)  and three great sets from Papa George and the jammers - Ah well........while the cat's away.....
We look forward to having our leader back in the saddle for the next jam. It's just not the same without him.

Vocals - Zoe, Sue, Alice
Vocals & Guitar -  Tony, George
Guitar - Rob K, Pedro, Karl, Rory, Kacper, Ian P
Bass - Helen (far too stressed to play!), Nige, Roger, Albert, Steve, Ian
Drums - Gordon, Greg, Rob W, Marti, Jamie
Keys - David, Lee

Thanks to all who came along and played their part in the shenanigans.
Vids & Recordings up soon.

With some jammers back to school and others who sent a note from their mums with their excuses, we had a slightly lower turnout than last jam, 25 jammers in 12 different line-ups performed 24 songs. Jammers and  audience numbering some 50 or so in total. Unprecedented in the history of jamming, we managed to get through the evening without either Texas Flood or Crossroads being played.
Only managed to catch the first 2 line-ups on the recording gadget (won't be buying batteries from the infamous 99p Store in Lymington again) so plenty of vids to make up for it.

Vocals - Trevor
Vocals & Harp - Pete R
Vocals & Guitar - Stan, Yan, Jim, Tony.
Guitar - Pedro, Ian P, Ash, Rory, Tim W, Dean.
Bass - Helen, Albert, Nick B, Robin, Steve.
Drums - Gordon, Greg, Stephanie, Jamie.
Harp - Flavio, and a Man of Mystery whose name didn't go on the list.
Keys - David, Matt.

Thank to all who came along.....see you next jam!

Whether it was due to the recent spell of hot weather, or the phase of the moon, but this month's jammers seemed to be in particularly high spirits. They managed to pull themselves together sufficiently to frolic through 26 songs in 13 different line-ups. There were 25 jammers, including two sets of fathers and sons, and another 25 or so audience.
With the jammers showing a distinct reluctance to bring the proceedings to a halt and go home, we finally pulled the plug at 11.30.

It was good to see old friends returning, and yet more new faces, at this month's jam. We revisited another 24 songs in 12 different line-ups (more or less).
Also, lots of info about the forthcoming gigs at Champions, such as  Albert Lee on the 17th June,  The Hamsters Hendrix Set on the 28th June, and, what clearly has caught the imagination of the diserning live music fan, The Ramonas on 25th June (described in the publicity material as an "All girl Ramones Tribute band - Girls in  skimpy clothing, leather, fishnet stockings with big boots rocking hard"). I can't think why they're so popular! Get your tickets now before they're sold out!
Check out www.myspace.com/championsvenue for more details of all the gigs coming up at Champions.

The jammers this month were:
Vocals & Guitar - Stan, Pedro,  Rob B, Dave Mc, Tony.
Vocals & Harp - Pete.
Guitar - Lee, Ash, Richard, Phil H, Tim W, Ian P, John.
Bass - Helen, Andy, Albert, Dave.
Drums - Gordon, Connor, John, Josh, Damian.
Keys - Stan tinkling the occasional ivory.

Thanks to all those who came along, and for the help lugging the gear up the steps.
Much appreciated. See you jammin'!

Thanks to all who took part and we'll see you jammin'!!

With several of our "old hands" sending in a note from their mums saying they wouldn't be able to make it to the jam, we were a little concerned that the turnout might be low. There was also the footy on the telly, and Eric Sardinas at The Brook to compete with. However, we ended up with more than 60 people, 27 of whom were jammers. There were 12 line-ups, playing 24 songs. Everyone was enjoying it so much we forgot to stop at 11 and eventually realised we'd over-run. There were several interesting moments, but few matched the climactic, bordering on suicidal, leap performed by Rear Admiral Ian Peterson at the end of It's all over now - see video!!
