This photo was not Photoshopped! It's a real rainbow that the band spotted while on the road during the Fall 2009 European and Russian tour. They could not resist the opportunity to take a spontaneous photo. Please do not use this photo without our permission.

PRESS RELEASE
Contact: LisaWalker@ToTheMax1.com
EX-RAINBOW MEMBERS REUNITE TO TOUR EUROPE AND RUSSIA
Over The Rainbow Announces Fall Concert Dates

(New York, NY) In August 2008, four former Rainbow musicians reunited and asked Jurgen Blackmore, son of Rainbow's founder Ritchie Blackmore, to join them in Over The Rainbow. The band launched their debut tour in Russia, Belarus and The Ukraine earlier this year before sold out arena crowds. The buzz generated by fans was so
intense that the demand for them to return to Russia had to be met.

Bassist Greg Smith says, "I am very excited about going back to Russia. The fans there were amazing and I cant wait to play for them again. Its also exciting to bring this show to several cities in Western and Eastern Europe for the first time."

Vocalist Joe Lynn Turner adds, "The variety of European cities that we are playing on this tour is a strong testament to the fact that the music of Rainbow is alive, well and in demand by the fans who have never forgotten its contribution to music history. As for returning to Russia, the Russian people and fans have always had a warm place
in my musical heart and soul. Debuting Over The Rainbow earlier this year there was electric! We are ready to give the fans more this fall!"

In the 70s, 80s and 90s, Rainbow released over 20 albums (five Gold, four Silver), seven Billboard Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock tracks, six Top 75 UK songs and at least seven MTV frequently played videos. Since 1998, former members of Rainbow and their respective management offices were overloaded with requests for Rainbow to reunite. Rondinelli, Smith and Turner agreed that the only legitimate way to accomplish this was to employ a Blackmore on guitar.

Jurgen Blackmore said, “This is my home continent and I am very happy to do this tour. There are so many different countries on this upcoming tour, that I am very curious to play there. Every country is different and I think it will be great to experience these different cultures. I especially look forward to playing in my native country of Germany."

Over The Rainbow is:

Vocals: Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow 1980-1984)
Drums: Bobby Rondinelli (Rainbow 1980-1983)
Bass: Greg Smith (Rainbow 1994-1997)
Guitar: Jurgen ("J.R.") Blackmore
On keyboards for this forthcoming tour is Paul Morris (Rainbow 1994-1997). He adds, "When I played with Rainbow back in the 90's we did a couple of tours in Europe, but never went any further [east] then East Germany. It will be awesome to play this great music to so many new people who never got the chance to see [the original]
Rainbow."

Drummer Bobby Rondinelli sums it up best by saying, "Europe is our second home and Russia is where the band was born. It will be great to go back."

Tour Dates are all listed in the "Tour Dates" section on the MY SPACE site and are subject to change as the tour progresses.

About Russia....it was absolutely fantastic to play in Russia/Ukraine/Belarus. All the
fans are so much into our music. It was like they all are a piece of this band.
I think these fans are some of the best in the world. Looking forward to playing there again.

As for touring Europe....this is my home continent and I am very happy to do this
tour. There are so many different countries on this upcoming tour, that I am very curious to play there. Every Country is different and I think it will be an awesome tour to all
experience these different cultures. Love to see u all...rock n roll! ~ Jurgen

Get Ready to Rock's Ian Pollard writes:
"Special mention must be made of Rainbow Mk. IV keyboard player Paul Morris, who filled in at short notice following Tony Carey being taken ill, and learned the set in 4 days. From the opening bars of "Tarot Woman" to the "Since You've Been Gone" / "All Night Long" encore he is note perfect."

(New York, NY): Over The Rainbow adds Ex-Rainbow Keyboardist Paul Morris to the band’s roster on the following tour date:

Sweden Rock Festival-June 4- headlining Sweden Stage

Tony Carey, the original and permanent keyboardist for the band, is unavailable to perform on this date. After the return from the successful OTR Japan tour, Carey developed a gastrointestinal disorder that requires immediate treatment. His doctors have recommended that he refrain from touring and travelling for a short period of time.

Carey and the other members agreed that for the sake of the fans’ demand to see Over The Rainbow, that the “show must go on” at Sweden Rock Festival as long as the integrity of the band’s concept remained intact.

Like all members of Over The Rainbow (except Jurgen), Paul Morris was also a member of Rainbow. He recorded and toured with them from 1994 through 1997. Morris looks forward to playing the great Rainbow classics from all Rainbow eras just as he did during his tenure with the band.

Over The Rainbow is:
Vocals: Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow 1980-1984)
Drums: Bobby Rondinelli (Rainbow 1980-1983)
Bass: Greg Smith (Rainbow 1994-1997)
Guitar: Jurgen ("J.R.") Blackmore
Keyboards: Tony Carey (Rainbow 1975-1978)

OVER THE RAINBOW: Japan, Spring-2009

For the last 10 years, we Japanese fans were quite lucky to see and
enjoy many incredible concerts by former Rainbow vocalist, Joe Lynn Turner. Recently he gave us great memories with his "Tribute to Rainbow concert" with Orchestra.  Additionally, JLT and ex-Rainbow singer Graham Bonnet also teamed up for "JLT vs.ALCATRAZZ" shows within the past few years. Surprisingly, we could see one more "dream" in here Japan. It was the
Over The Rainbow Tour!

Japanese fans were very exited to know that former Rainbow musicians
teamed up for OTR. They were JLT, Tony Carey, Bobby Rondinelli and Greg Smith. And, we had so much interest with a second generation Blackmore on guitar to form OTR. I'm so proud of the well-known Japanese JLT band called " Tokyo-Mafia" ---They were just perfect! But I really wanted to see another band with JLT in next time he came to Japan. Yes, OTR was the best band in this world, I think.

No need to say, there are so many Rainbow Fans in my country Japan. Actually, the venue named Tokyo Kosei Nenkin Hall (1,800 capacity ) was filled with a huge audience. It was double the capacity of  JLT's last Tokyo show, "JLT vs.ALCATRAZZ".

I, Kaoru went to the Nagoya and Tokyo shows. The set was same. But the venue of Nagoya was "general admission (no seats)." OTR was just front of me, so I could touch  their hands very easily.  It was a very HOT and exiting night! The Tokyo show had seats. Some of fans had also seen Rainbow during thier Japan Tour in '80. I was so lucky person who enjoyed diferrent style OTR shows. However there were no backdrop yet the sounds were so clear and also lighting was so beautiful.

The show was started with "Tarot Woman" and next was "Kill The King". It was NOT same as we saw before with JLT solo shows. These songs had taken us to the OTR world in less than 10 minutes. On keyboard,Tony Carey was excellent, however the stage set was so simple.

Many Rainbow fans are love ALL of the Rainbow albums. Also I, Kaoru does too. JLT was quite powerful to sing "Man On The Silver Mountain" and "Eyes Of The World." I wrote before that  JLT has become more powerful than last year. I do think same way in this year too with his strong shout.

OTR played "JLT's masterpieces for Japan" Street Of Dreams" and "Power." But NO "Spot Light Kid." We were surprised and glad to hear "Ariel" and "Wolf To The Moon." JLT sung these songs just like his own songs!! Also it was very fresh to hear a B-side tune "Jealous Lover." OTR had shown us a more WIDE Rainbow's world than the original
Rainbow.

Greg Smith did wonderful backing vocals with JLT. He was shining like a star on the stage.  Jurgen gave us his tender smile with stabilized sound all through the shows. I really enjoyed  Bobby Rondinelli' s drum solo time!  They all are so excellent, I was so I moved and enjoyed this very authentic sound! it was such a wonderful thing for us Japanese fans who had seen JLT and his Japanese band to see him with OTR.

"Star Gazer" and "Long Live Rock'n'Roll" shook to us so much. All of audience shouted so LOUD with OTR. A couple of encore times  made us feeling high! Almost everyone in the audience could sing these English songs so perfectly!

If I try to describe these shows in only one word I would say they were"FUN." They gave us a never ending dream. I am strongly wishing that many JLT fans and Rainbow fans  in the world will be able to enjoy the marvelous Over The Rainbow show. And I hope that we will be able to see the show again. OTR guys, See You Next Year. Thank you very much for the WONDERFUL
shows.
