Nouveau Vadge

Hello to All you Lovely Ladies..

Has taken a while to get it back up and running again, but this time its on a much larger scale and I'm really excited, hope you will be too...

This is your official invite to Nouveau Vadge.

As the event is closer than you can imagine, please read the email carefully and confirm

your presence as soon as possible and before the 10th of May.

WHEN..
Nouveau Vadge will have its Opening on Saturday June 27th and an all day exhibition on Sunday 28th from 12pm till 6 or 7pm ( to allow for tidy up ).

WHERE...
Nouveau Vadge will be at the Back Loft, La Catedral Studios, 7-11 St. Augustine Street, Dublin 8. You
can visit their website www.myspace.com/lacatedralstudios if you have not been there yet.

Also here is a youtube video of an exhibition held there, just to give you a better idea of the space.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIeDKhF-cpU

Find enclosed a picture of the back loft.
After party in Thomas House, Thomas st.:)

COSTS...

All the Artists  will have their 5metres squared for 30 Euros, this will include the cost of the space, insurance, and of course you can sell your art.

Each one of you will be responsible for his/her own space, setting up, making the space your own, looking after your space during the exhibition and leaving your space exactly how it was found.

CONCEPT...
The space will be divided into differently shaped surfaces of 5 square metres. Each space

will be personalised by the artist. So we are looking for visual artists, sculptors, photographers, painters and the like.

During the exhibition ideally we would like to have some live acoustic music or minimal electronic.

On the Opening night we hope to have a gig as an after party, with all female musicians..

This will be slightly different to the last Nouveau Vadge, with the Art on a much larger scale, which can only be a good thing..

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE VISUAL ARTISTS
WHAT TO DO...
before the 30th of May

You have exactly 5m² to play with and to design your own installation.
You can choose between the three following layout options, on the basis of which is more
suitable for you (see attachment).
OPTION 1 - Square Shape - 2.25m wide by 2.25m high - 2.25x2.25 = 5m2
OPTION 2 - Horizontal Rectangular Shape - 3m wide and 1.65m high - 3x1.65=5m2
OPTION 3 - Vertical Rectangular Shape - 1.65m wide by 3m high - 1.65x3=5m2
You can use the walls, the floor, or both together. The total surface has to be
5m².
You can do whatever you like with your 5m² but remember that you will be responsible for
you own space!! For example you can paint your 5m² red or you can write on the walls but
then you will have to give your space back the way you got it.

IMPORTANT – before the 30th of May you will have to send us an email with the following
information:
1. your choice of layout option
2. a sample of the works you want to exhibit, so we can have a sample for the brochure..

So if this interests you, please get in contact....

Please forward to any ladies that might be interested and that i may not have contact info for...
I suppose we will have to work on a first come first served basis, so get in touch as soon as you can....

The launch of Nouveau Vadge:
28th of Feb 09

It will be a fund-raising gig for the children in Hampi India, all the acts on the night have kindly agreed to play for free, so a big thanks to them.... will update this blog next week with the final update, but for now here's a little about the trust...

The
  HAMPI CHILDREN’S TRUST
Giving something back to the ancient city of Hampi + its’ people

The Hampi Children’s Trust (HCT) is a non-profit Charitable Trust

The aim of the Trust is to promote + improve  the educational prospects
of those
young children  ( aged 4 to 16 years )  living in Hampi Bazaar
who currently do not receive an education  ,  primarily  because their
parents do not allow them to attend  school  ,  preferring  instead to send them
out begging for money from the many Westerners who visit the magnificent Hampi site during the tourist
season.Without a formal education , the prospects for these children are bleak
.

HCT currently has 30 children enrolled
in its’ programme , expanded from the initial group of 8 children
who started back in May 2007.The children are provided with full school
uniforms and the essential materials for their education and are enrolled
either at the local Government school or the Sri Pampapathi private
school ( with HCT paying the annual school fees )  located at the
far end of  Hampi  Bazaar main street .  HCT employs
a young man , Chida  , who  speaks  Kannada – the local
dialect – and who runs HCT’s   pre-school  ‘ kindergarden
’ group , as well as helping  with  all of  its’
other activities ; we also employ a cook to provide the children with
3 meals a day , 6 days a week . HCT also offer an out-of-school-hours
programme , 7 days a week , for this group of children , in order to
try + give them a structure to their week and to help develop
and  improve  their  essential  life – skills

HCT hopes to
expand its operations in future months  ,  as it already has
more than fifteen children on the waiting list ,  with many more
in need . This expansion is fully dependent on donations and volunteers
from both Hampi residents and foreign tourists who are supportive of
HCT’s aims  and objectives. Not only are monetary donations needed
, but equally important to HCT is the participation of volunteers at
the Trust, and the help of those  - living abroad -  who can
raise  people’s awareness of the work  +  aims of
our small project .

HCT is always
looking for volunteers to give their time and help out at the Trust
: however ,we ask for
a minimum commitment of at least 2 weeks . HCT has leased a guest house
in Hampi , re-naming it Harmony House ,where Kali , Tim and
Celia
( the HCT administrator) live. In Harmony House , three rooms
are available for volunteers to stay in exchange for either helping
with the children as part of our volunteer programme ,  or a donation
to HCT.

Hampi
itself  is  a  magical , spiritual  place and a
major Hindu pilgrimage destination : 26 square kms of temples , ruins
and a magnificent  river  running  through the site .
It  is  a  uniquely beautiful place to stay  ,
and volunteering at HCT provides a perfect opportunity to get to know
the area and its’ people better than one would by simply taking
a tour or staying for a few days .   Visit our website
