we are big fans of m.ward ... and if you aren’t familiar with him, you should be and. but thats not my official recommendation.

if you haven’t heard, m.ward produced a record with zooey deschanel. they call the project She and Him, and the first release is called Volume One.

i could use some more of m.ward’s voice, but overall i think it’s an interesting album. musically, its a throwback to the 50s and 60s. the melodies make me think of what would happen if june carter and carole king magically had a child together. there lots of vocal layering with zooey’s voice ... i’m sure the beach boys were an inspiration for that.

if musically its a throwback to the 50s, then sonically its a throwback to the 70s. most of m.ward’s music has that vintage sound ... gritty, raw, organic. this record has all that. and also, some really good songs. all this, and i’m still trying to figure out how much i like her voice.

so if you need new music in your life all the time, like me, check this out.

hello everyone.

this is just a short note to let you all know that we are alive and indeed still a band.

after a great run at piano's in september, we have begun the arduous process of writing new material. our goal is to begin recordings for a record in the coming weeks. along the way we will be booking some shows to keep ourselves sharp, and to work out the kinks on some of this new material.

we are anxious to finish these new songs ... the progression our writing has taken is exciting for us, and we can't wait to share the music with you all.

there is nothing that makes me feel the way music does. it inspires, uplifts, and colors my life in ways that i can't describe. music is my church. i'm not sure what i'd do, or who i'd be without it. i can imagine that most of you feel the same way. we'd love to know what music is moving you ... if you feel compelled, share it with us ... comment on our page ... message us ... or take the time to share your favorite music with others that you love that are in need of consolation ... or commiseration ... or inspiration ... or for any -ation at all.

more soon.

happy belated thanksgiving.

our recommendations.

- the soundtrack to The Hottest State ... great covers of Jesse Harris songs. tracks by m.ward, feist, bright eyes, willie nelson, and others.

- the pearl jam dvd - Immagine in Cornice. wow.

- and if you haven't checked out the new radiohead album, in rainbows, consider yourself on notice.

never the advocates for massive television consumption, we must retract that sentiment for a minute (or two).

this sunday night, july 8, 2007, at 10pm eastern, Heavy Rescue has a song (Good Intentions) airing on Lifetime's "hit new television drama", Army Wives.

we are told that we will be very pleased at the usage of our song, as it will be featured in the show closing montage.

a very special thank you to our friend, and collective love, kate bergman for helping make this happen.

so, again ... army wives, this sunday at 10pm eastern, on lifetime.

hello.hello.

It seemed to me, there was a need to inform the uber techie community of what our band is up to. Therefore I will take this time to fill you all in on some of the haps. After a wonderful return to NY in early February, one in which we'd like to thank all who attended, we have been preparing to head into the studio to track some new music. We will be teaming up with Mike Sapone to record in the first week of March. We expect to post these new songs around the 15th. Be sure to check in around then.
Also we wanted to invite you all to come join us on Long Island on March 29th. Men, Women and Children was kind enough to invite us along to perform our music, as well as Aeroplane Pageant, and the Mercurial. Daryl Palumbo will also be DJing. Tickets are available here There is more news to come in next week.
Finally, Take a glance at some of the photos from our recent Knitting Factory show. We have stripped down the outfit to 4 members, and here is some photo documentation of the new lineup. welcome Phil Navetta on bass. We expect we will be seeing you all sometime soon.

hello.

on saturday night, february 10th, at new york city's knitting factory, the rescue will be performing in front of a live studio audience for the first time in 2007.

we had the chance to put together an entire bill. so joining us will be Guts, Mepos, and White Russian. these are friends of ours from all walks of our life, and we couldn't be more thrilled to be playing with them. i know many of you like to show up right at set time and bail immediately after, but i highly recommend coming early and staying late to see all these bands.

tickets are available here

we'll be debuting some new songs ... songs that will be recorded properly later this month, so stay tuned for that.

also, on march 29th we will be playing on long island at ...i never thought i'd say this .... the crazy donkey .... with Men Women and Children. more info on that to come.

hope to see everyone out on saturday. the show is all ages so bring your loved ones, young and old. we couldn't be more excited to be playing.
