Ok, so I'm officially not a blogger it seems, but since there's so much officially happening right now, I thought it was time to start again, and I think I'm ready to be a little more regular for the rest of 2009. At least.

First up is music. Curiosities and Such was released in April on my independent-art-collective-label-studio-call it what you want.....I call it EEPSOCIETY. The response has been great, so thanks to everyone who continues to support because, you know, we need you to and everything. For those who still need a copy, go to
www.joyelectric.com.

Currently in the works is a Joy Electric covers album that I'm knee deep in the middle of recording. This will be a Tooth and Nail release coming out in....?....well...all I know right now is that it has to be done by the end of June. In an effort to avoid contributing to the onslaught of tounge in cheek 80's covers being done by almost everybody right now, I thought I would only cover current hits starting from the last few years onward. So far, I've completed "I Miss You" by Blink 182, "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay, "Falling Slowly" from the Once soundtrack, and more on the way. It hasn't been easy. I'm going in a different direction musically than the minimalist styles of MGTC and C&S, and that's to keep everything as musical and listenable as possible. In addition to the Moog, I have Roland Juno's, Sequential Circuits and DSI polyphonic synths all contributing to the overall sound. Still no samples, still completely analog, still completely Joy E, though. Final tracklisting and a song or two on My Space will be coming after June.

How about the next "real" album? The follow up to MGTC? Well, I actually completed all of the drums for the entire album last month, and I plan on jumping in and finishing the rest this fall, Lord willing. Fast tempos, lot's of energy, big choruses. That's about all I can say.

My studio....Eepsociety....has gone through a major rebuild/overhaul over the past two months. A new website is on the way, which will include pictures, rates and recording samples of recent things done at the studio. Eepsociety will be specializing in mixing, mastering and remixing, so if you have a project that needs any of those services, you can write me at
ronnie@joyelectric.com and we can discuss options.

Finally.....there are SHOWS coming this weekend and next! Check out details on this site.

We hope to see ya there.....thanks for listening.

ronnie.
