wanted to share these pics from my scotland trip. my bud andrew rannells and i had the most amazing trip into the scotish highlands and to a secret, 'unbelievable' place on loch nevis. you can see the house in the picture above. that's it...that castle looking thing at the base of the mountain...yeah...that's it.

it was luxury like i have never experienced but on such a personal level. generosity personified from the people who allowed us to be there. cindy, nick, mike, finoa, and sir c...many great thank yous. we had the best time.

then we popped down for a quick trip to edinburgh. definitely not enough time, so, i guess i have to go back! but we stayed at the best hotel: the tigerlily on george street. all i can say is, spend the money, go, and stay there. swanky, hip, fun, sexy, great restaurant, the rooms are huge, and the amenities...fancy. go go go.

ok. i have to rehearse now. we are bringing scarlett strallen back into the show, and we have to do a couple quick tech calls so she is ready to go. lisa, the current mary poppins, is off to an american adventure in MY FAIR LADY, as eliza doolittle. sad to see her go, but wishing her well on what is bound to be a fantastic experience.

i'm coming after you....


i got a fire in me today. it is a perfect day, and i wanna tear into it. i wanna scream loud and drown out all the bull. i wanna jump and grab stuff. i wanna pull it apart and say, 'it's fine in pieces.' leave it. love it. and do something new.

i made some changes. for the first time since i started my MYSPACE page, i updated FOUR NEW SONGS from GOODTIMENATION. check out the new jams. i am feeling pumped up with fresh summer flavors. a little disco, a little punky radio jam, some immitation-ska, and more. i just feel refreshed today. refurbished. renewed. you should too. maybe aging one more number gives me power. whatever it is...it is clarity and i LIKE IT!

oh... and i put up new PICS as well. check the myspace. it is full of yummy surprises.

to come: an online discussion with whoever is out there...about how we can get the GOODTIMENATION to a hell of a lot more people. start thinking....

HOW IS EVERYONE? whoever is out there listening, hooray! surprisingly enough, i get a lot of notes from people saying that they enjoy my blogs. i'm not sure why, because i usually just blab with no point, but it warms my heart to think that someone out there gives a toss. (brit phrase deliberately used)

i thought i would answer a few questions i have received from people. i don't have time to write to everyone, but i owe you all some answers....so....here we go:

1. KYLE asked about the GAVINCREEL.COM updates. i know i have been promising this for a long time, but we DID put up new NEWS stuff on the site. check that out. for now, that will have to do. we'll give it a new look and everything eventually, but look out for new PICS soon too. some MARY POPPINS treats...

2. DAVE (and a lot of other people) have asked if i am coming stateside to do MARY POPPINS. at this point, there are no official plans. london is treating me very well and i am staying here until november 4. after that, who knows. there may be a chance in the future of me cleaning some chimneys in my good old home land....and yes...i am coming home eventually. contrary to rumors, i am not moving here for forever and always. chill, yo.

3. AMY asked if i am planning another trip to my home town FINDLAY OHIO. well, we're almost to the one year anniversary of the concert i did back home (april 29 last year) i have such fond memories from that night. it was so great to connect with so many people i haven't seen in over 10 years. i'll get back there someday. oh yes...i must have a Wilson's Burg and Malted.

4. JGB4 asked a cool question on myspace: "in Fri Sat Sun, who are the other '2 little devils' you are talking about?" love that you picked up on that. they are my friends andrew and sean. when i came back to new york after being away for a while, i was in serious need to party, losen up, and let go of some sadness. those were the 'boys' i hit the town with, and we had a total blast. good question!

5. and finally... KAREN asks: "why do birds suddenly appear, everytime you are near?" well karen, simply put...i'm magic. pure, electric magic. that, and i have a suet cake stuck up my---

i am the worst with birthdays. the worst. i don't remember them. i don't think about them. i just...don't. yesterday was my friend catherine's birthday (she is the gorgeous bride in the picture- www.gavincreel.blogspot.com) i remembered that on feb 11, rich and mary jo marsh welcomed their little girl into the world. and we rejoiced (well...i didn't because i wasn't born yet....she's older than me...she's old....) but you could hear a sigh because the world gained a beautiful friend. a fun spirit. a good, loyal, perfect soul. who would later crash into gavin creel at the university of michigan (that's me with the hippie hair talking to her- www.gavincreel.blogspot.com) and in a beautiful union in june 2005, she would marry the kind, hard working, patient, and good, mr michael matuza (the other man in the pic- www.gavincreel.blogspot.com). they live in new jersey now. they are two of my friends. i am glad i know them. and i miss them and their ghetto-ritas.

and i'm glad i remembered her birthday. since i may forget yours, i would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a

VERY

HAPPY

BIRTHDAY.

but if i were you, don't wait until that day to get someone you know a present or send them a card or wish them well or do something nice or kiss them or tell them you love them or anything that you might wait for.... screw that shit. do it now.

feb 5th, soho revue bar, london. gavin creel and robbie roth got back up on the wooden stools and shared the music with the peeps.

we had a great time monday. after the MARY POPPINS play, i raced over to the cool-as-hell soho revue bar to meet robbie and my wo-manager, michelle. we zipped through a 5 minute sound check, made sure the room was vibin, and then waited for the crowd to arrive. we had over 100 there to support and it felt lovely as ever. we haven't played out since june of last year, so it was LONG overdue. felt good to get back up there and dig through some of our goodies, as well as debut a few new ones.

some highlights for me were forgetting lyrics to a song i have sung at EVERY concert that we have EVER done (i think i was just happy to be singin again), completely offending the british audience with an anti-british original song (they secretly loved it because they LOVE "takin the piss") singing with two gorgeous POPPINS gals, jaime and rebecca, and singin a new tune called LONESOME. i think it is my favorite one right now. (although my mind changes by the minute)

we had a great night and i with you could ALL have been there. we promise to keep writing and creating new stuff. this reaffirmed how much we love doing it and how much we look forward to making our next record (it is in the works...)

but....GOODTIMENATION has not even begun to blow up yet....so please spread the word and play it for everyone you can.
