Well here we are 2009 is almost over. I must say this year has been a trip for me. A year ago (almost to the day) I decided to throw myself back into music full-time. I'm not really sure what motivated me to do so. After leaving The Blackstones in 2004 , I stopped performing live and really dove into writing and recording. Performing over 200 shows a year (with The Blackstones) left me very little time and energy to compose, so I stopped playing live. 2009 was a rebirth for me. I released a new album "Jukebox Gypsy" and with the support of family and friends was able to tour all over America. Over 40 shows in 20 different states is quite an accomplishment for me. I had forgotten what it feels like to perform for an audience. I caught that "buzz" when I was a child and it's never really left me. Writing and recording music will always be a huge part of my life but nothing compares to performing live. Since August I've been going at full steam so I'll be taking it easy for the Winter months. I've been really behind in answering e-mails and updating my media so I'll be doing alot of that stuff over the Winter. I already booked a string of shows in May so I guess I wont be taking another 5 year break. I think I'm back for good this time. Being a musician is like being in the Mafia. It's for life. You think your out but it pulls you back in. I'm looking to hit up some new venues and festivals this year so if you have any ideas, hit me up. I know I'll be doing some East Coast shows with Colin McShane and I'll also be recording a New EP with C-Rok in March. It looks like will be doing a Blackstones reunion in May! You say why, I say why not! So 2010 is shaping up to be another busy year. Well I'm gonna go and hibernate for a few more weeks and then it's back to work. I'm posting some pics and video from the Fall Tour with Pete Pidgeon so keep a look out. Oh yeah, Fall Tour was sweet. It was nice to have a tour with no drama. Pete was a total pro. Granted the other tours were crazy and sometimes fun, it was nice to just hit the road and be all about business. I'm sure Pete and I will do something in the future. Well that's all I got for now. Does anyone even read this shit? Happy New Year Rock Sean

CITY:
I sit here and stare at the screen for a minute. What should I write? I'll start with I love New York, it's the city where I was born and raised and I will always call it home. September 11th should forever be remembered and those lives lost, honored. New Yorker's are a strong and proud people. I feel the time for mourning has passed and we should all be proud of how New York has bounced back and yes, it's still happening in Manhattan! So all the terrorists can consider themselves cowards and failures. Our women are beautiful, our men, fearless and our freedom, intact. As I've said before, time wounds all heels : ) SONG:
The song was written in one sitting this past Summer. My good friend and screenwriter, Steve Fleming asked me to write the theme song for a new cable TV series called "Manhattan". So the song "Manhattan" was the result. The show is being filmed right now and I've been asked to write a new song for each episode. The show is set in New York, so it's a wonderful opportunity for me to pay homage to the city that never sleeps. I recorded the track right before I left for tour and I mixed it really quick and sent it to the producers. I thought it was just a scratch track but they loved it and DJ Camaza stepped in and remixed the beats and added a whole new element to the song. Next we had a few guest musicians lay down some sweetness and finally C-ROK took it to the lab for the master mix. So alot went into this song and I thought it proper to release it on 9/11. While we always must remember the tragedy, one thing I've learned from living in New Orleans is that you must dance and rejoice, even in death.
I love NY
Sean

Summer Tour was amazing! I must say, I have a new found love for my country. I met so many beautiful people on the road, to list them all here would take an eternity. I really must thank my brother, Patrick for some killer vocal warm-ups. It kept my voice strong and healthy the whole tour and for that I am forever grateful. It's such a privilege to be able to perform my songs, with the energy of a different city under my feet. Each city's energy would seep into the songs and inspire a different set-list every evening. Since I was only selling my CD's for $1 per copy, I managed to sell or give away over 2,000 copies in under 3 weeks. A big-ups to Grubbs for picking up more copies of the album when I ran out mid-tour. My Mom sent a few hundred copies (thanx Mom) to Jimmy Valentines house and Grubbs was kind enough to bring them to the Swing State for me. You Rock Brother! Tour of course had it's ups and downs, but I finished all of the shows, even though my crew bailed on me twords the end, the tour rolled on without a hitch! Some people can't handle the road, but this Jukebox Gypsy had dreams of the highway when he was five. Additional thanx to Sandi for taking over when the guys rode out. Couldn't have finished the tour without ya! I also wanna express my eternal love to Starr for meeting me in Cleveland and taking her Jukebox Gypsy home. I started the tour with two guys and finished the tour with two beautiful woman. Sounds like Rock N Roll to me ; ) I'll be updating my site with new pics, videos and songs, so just keep checking back. Since my Summer Tour was so successful and fun, I'll be back on the road in November, so stay tuned for the dates. Also, I'll be releasing a new song "Manhattan" on September 11th!!! Manhattan is a new song I wrote for a cable TV series called "Last Call" that's being filmed right now. Well, I'm gonna take a week off and I'll be back on the 11th with a new song and a Fall Tour update.
Kisses and Nugs

First I wanna say that I'm overwhelmed with joy, over the response to "Jukebox Gypsy" . I booked a bunch of new shows, have over 500 pre-orders for box sets and a TV show might be in the works. Exciting time in my life!!! I need to address the lyric "so fucking beautiful" in the song So Damn Pretty. You must realize that I write from the heart and when I see something that's real pretty, I actually might say "look at that, it's so fucking beautiful". I didn't give it much thought and realize it might have been an oversight. I have received over 100 complaints! To those who don't know, that's a lot for an indie artist. Two complaints really stick out. My mother asked me to change it and if that wasn't enough, an old friend wants to use it for her wedding but can't, because of the lyric. I could say no, it's art, and I'm an artist. Jim Morrison didn't change his lyrics. Well, I'm not the next Jim Morrison or the next anything for that matter. I'm the first Sean Mullady! With that being said, upon returning from tour, I'll be working with C-Rok and re-mixing "So Damn Pretty" so they'll be a clean "radio"version at the end of the album. I hope this clears things up and look forward to seeing everyone on the road.
Love always,
Jukebox Gypsy

Yesterday we all lost a great teacher. Sky Sunlight Saxon was lead vocalist and songwriter for a legendary rock group called 'The Seeds". If you don't know who he is go on youtube or google and find out! NOW! He was amazing. He made an impact on every single person he met. Just a powerful spirit. Sky will always be remembered to me as the man who saved my soul from ruin. I was in a really dark place when he entered my life. I had the privilege of touring with Sky in the Summer of 2007. The whole experience changed my life in such a profound way, that now, I'm finally performing my own music and touring all over the country. I'm not here to self -promote in anyway, I'm here to let people know that Sky renewed my own sense of self-worth with his kindness and grace. I had all but givin up on myself when Sky came along. He taught me to be true to myself and to not let other peoples will get in the way of my own. He taught me that music can really change the world and change someone's life. After the tour with Sky, I stopped traveling my self-destructive path and threw my heart and soul into writing songs. Sky said that I had a gift for song writing. He made me feel like I had something to offer. I dedicate my new album "Jukebox Gypsy" to Sky, because without him, this album would have never been made. May he be at peace with YaHoWha on this day and may his music and spirit live on forever. Love Always Sean
I was on a tour bus for weeks before I even had an idea of who occupied the back room of the bus. Sadly, even on his dying day, no respect: Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson both were fated to die today, denying Sky even this hollow recognition.

Damn it's hot down here!!! New Orleans in the Summer, you gotta love it : ) As the tour nears, I'll be very busy, so please be patient, I'll get back to everyone eventually. I feel I must address Jason's and Mat's absence from the tour. Simply put, they both quit. I found that musicians spend a lot of time talking about everything else, except for the music. Instead of listening to me they talked over each other and decided to take themselves off the tour. I wish them both luck. I don't rely on luck. I rely on hard work and dedication. I take my music very seriously and expect the same from anyone that I'm working with. Speaking of hard work " JUKEBOX GYPSY " is in it's final stage of production. I'm still hoping for a July 8th release, but ya never know. C-Rok will be mastering the disc in the coming weeks and words cannot express how excited I am about this album! I can't wait for everyone to hear it! I'll be heading to New York next week to see my beautiful family and to hang with C-Rok in the studio for a few days. When I return to New Orleans, I will be in the final stages of tour production. Lots to do, so little money : ) The live show is really starting to gel. The House Of Blues show kicked some serious ass!!! The place was packed and I'll be doing an even bigger show there in the fall. Stay tuned for details! I'll be back in a few weeks with a new album!!!! WORD!
Keep it real or give it up Sean

Greetings! Much to talk about, lots going on. First I wanna thank everybody that came to the show last night. It was great to get out and perform. I put some pics up, so check it!
Here's some updates:
1. "Jukebox Gypsy" will be released on July 8th!!! I have so much going on right now and I don't wanna rush or release something, unless it's 100%. Thats the beauty of being an indie artist, you can take your time and get it right! My boy C-Rok will be mastering the disc and I'm stoked to have the best producer in the business helping me out. Just go to my top friends and you'll find him. Post-Production is sometimes longer then recording. Actually, it always is. It's a labor of love for sure.
2. After The Howlin' Wolf show I was offered a gig at The House of Blues. I quickly accepted and the show is confirmed for June 19th!!!! The show will be free and the drinks are half price!!! So to not go, is an "Irish" sin : ) I'll see you there!
SHOUT OUTS
Shawn Patrick Rice- he designed my Summer Tour poster and it the best poster in the whole wide world! Shawn and I went to college together and have been friends since we was little. We go back like car seats! Thanx Dude!
Gene Robertson- Gene set up The Howlin Wolf show and The Local Spotlight Series is his baby. Supporting local artists is cool so that makes Gene the coolest! We'll do it again bro!
Kelly Riley- Kelly offered me the gig at The House of Blues and she's super sweet ta boot! When you see her tell her that you love her and scream "I Like Ya Face!" (she will laugh) I promise! Very excited for a show on my home turf : ) Thanx Kelly
Well that's all for now back to the lab love my Sage

The album entitled "Jukebox Gypsy" will be released on JUNE 8TH !!! I'll be streaming the entire album right here on myspace, for free! Jukebox Gypsy is a collection of songs that represent the last five years of my life. It's a very personal record and recording it has been extremely cathartic for me. The songs go way deep, a lot of sub-text going on. You see, as an artist you run the risk of being rejected. You put yourself out there for the world to see. It's the good, bad and ugly and it's real. I consider myself lucky to be living in the "information" renaissance. 20 years ago, releasing my own album and touring all over the country, without major label support, would have been impossible. I'm essentially living out my dream. When I get emails from fans in Europe and Australia it really puts everything in perspective. To have the opportunity to communicate my music to so many people is amazing! A lot of people ask me "why would you post the album for free?" or "don't you want to sell the album and make money" My answer is simple, I'd rather be heard.
On another note, I'll be performing at the world famous "Howlin' Wolf" on May 14th!!! It's my first performance of the year. I figured I should get out of the studio and see how the rest of the world is doing. I hope to see some of you there. I have a few tickets so if you wanna go, gimme a holla : ) Well that's all folks, see you at the show!
Take care of eachother,
Sean
