This thing that sight can bring to mind, i can touch and taste in my mouth.
It's growing from the inside so shouldn't I just chew it out?
As I am suffering, I can bring you there.

O' how sad am I to want you to see i care?
When you won't see light, when you won't see light.

No love, no right

Then and now, again and somehow, the shallow nerves evade inner peace that you and I can't find. Not together it seems, but in separate lives. I can't part the waters you swim to get away from this life. Oh, you don't know what you do. You can't see me as I see you. So you're nothing but an after thought and you march alone in the stars to me. So I dine alone on the rot that is your nest.

Death
Death, don't be my friend. I'm holding out for those I can pretend will see me through the rain as a rising sun. Those who will swallow my rays and dress their thoughts in colors that you don't deserve to wear. I know you'll try anyway, and even so, one day I will learn to love you through life's end and through the spaces you begin. Even so, I don't know if your colors are as golden as those who are true golden. And if I don't see you, then how do you take from me? And I don't want you, then why do you wait for me?

Winding On
Life can't drift away, it's always in you until the day you think you've had it, your heart is lit by the stars. Sometimes a simple wanting is enough for it to take you to forces that keep winding on. Do you see it lengthening your sores? That is just you, you are winding on. And when you think you've had it and are lit by the stars, I want you to know this, mama, I'll do my best to keep winding on too. Of course I really think you have the strength and of course I've prayed and prayed and even when you're gone you'll keep winding my heart. There's not too much difference, you'll keep winding on.

You May Have Me (I'll Be Yours)
If life is as equivocal as you sometimes say it is, and if you can't find a reason to be happy to be alive then the light inside me bears no face and no right. But even then and when you die you will have me and I'll be yours. If you can love me as your one and only and through your pain you can pray for me every night, together we will share each others highest of highs. And if you can be there for me in my lowest of times then maybe this light inside me is really right. If this is true, baby, you may have me and I'll be yours. I know sometimes life can seem so terrible and sometimes ugliness is all people really know. Ooo what do they know? You and I, and our highest highs. I will have you and I'll be yours.

Heaven
The sun coming out, portent thorn on my head, will ravage for these loves to be heard of again. What makes us alike, alike, looks starved in the air. What makes you alive, alive, reaches for your own heaven when you're here. Oh, separate from things that you love is an open player. One you can't beat on your own, it's another self taking form within you now.

LETHARGIC SOLO

If life is as equivocal as it right now seems
Then when you separate from me
The joy within me bares no right and no face
Still you will have me, and I'll be yours

If you think of me as the one who really loves you
If you have seen me in my lowest lows
Then you can guide me to my highest highs
You may have me, and I'll be yours

If you loose the love that gives you light
And that grain of purity that I believe
Betrays you indefinitely
You might fade away
And I'll still be yours

"Burial" being performed in a single verse if now over. I would like to express gratitude to all those who have taken a sincere interest or shown sincere love and support for me and/ or this performance. For the time being, I would like to refrain from talking too much about this. I feel that all the work and intention and time I spent doing this speaks and amounts to a worth far beyond anything I can or should verbalize.

Here is what you can expect for the immediate future. I am going to be sort of approaching my performance series a bit out of order and sort of giving whoever is there a taste of what is going to be the grandeur product in the end. At the end of the month, (10/30), I will be performing some of the songs that are currently slated to be on my first real concentrated album - a projection of the performance "Heaven" I forecasted more decrepitly in pervious articles. This will entail me singing all the songs live but for this one without the live choir and string quartet. Two of these songs can be heard here in alternate versions on this page (Marra V & Denillia). I would recommend listening with headphones or downloading them to a personal player and meditating on them to grasp the fidelity since they are hardly mixed at all.

In December, I will be premiering my first ever long play large production performance "Emaciation" which is slated to be a full fledged theatrical performance. I have explained this performance in other articles, but it is ever changing and by the time this happens it will inevitably be a much different than how I write about it. Details about this will be revealed soon. It is looking to be over an hour with an intermission and other characters included.

Other than this, I am doing everything I need to and can to make this record the most top notch thing I can do. From there, with this record and new performance I am hoping to start touring internationally and for longer amounts of time doing.

The Carpenters Rainbow is near ready for more frequent shows, contact me with inquiries. There will be more external information besides www.myspace.com/thecarpentersrainbowusa made available shortly.

Thank you for your support.

It may be too soon to be writing about "Heaven," but I can't help but want to share it to whoever is interested. "Heaven" is the title of the last chapter of the conceptual performance series which includes "Burial" and "Emaciation." It is also for now the conceptual theme/ title of the album I am working on which I am planning to be my first concentrated full length album.

The performance of Heaven is going to be the songs from the album performed will all live singers and orchestration. At the moment I see the performance being a four piece choir and a string quartet to do a live rendition of the songs for this album which are at the moment being written with me doing all the choir parts myself and using synthesizers and other vocal manipulations for the string segments. I will stand before the choir/ quartet singing the leads of the songs as well as a more choreographed dance routine.

The themes of Heaven are things that are very personal to me, but done so in a way that is more universal, with the leads written in a way that can be open to more interpretation and be clerical to others in which ever experience or place they are at. I hope by this point to start doing performance as a full time deal. This could take awhile to get to, but it has always been my ultimate goal in terms of musical/ visual/ live performance.
[28 Sep 2009 | Monday]
The progress of the new performance "Emaciation" is ever changing, but it is clear to me that this is something that will stick and just needs to be materialized. The way I can tell is that I obsessively think about all sorts of different things that could be made all day and all night and if every day I wake up and it stills sounds good and realistic and I have vivid visions of it as I peacefully fall asleep there is some higher necessity for it to happen. This is how it is been thinking of "Emaciation" along with the premise of the new album.

So without talking too much and getting sidetracked I am just going to now explain how I see "Emaciation" panning out since I last wrote about it (due to getting more of the recorded portion done).

If you are the type that likes to be able to conceptualize something in a topical way, think of this performance as you would a classic western film. It is all about stillness, endurance, building tension and about physical strength that becomes more and more revealing in less overt ways. I anticipate that a lot of people are going to think it's not that hard to do, but then they'll actually pick up the type of weight I will be using and realize they got ahead of them self. But more importantly that this will make a lot of sense to other people who have felt a sense of sacrifice or struggle with taking from someone or something they love uncontrollably, searching for the right forces to build things up while struggling with those which break them down. I want to stray away from being overtly personal with this or even getting into it in a way where it's even about me.

1. "Silence & Building"
- This is the first segment which will consist of extremely quiet hissing and breathing that slowly slithers up until a choral lead starts to come in. Visually, the lights will slowly come up to reveal me standing with two large box weights in my hands. This part will go on for about 3 minutes and strain will begin to show on my body.

2. "Song 1: Other Selves"
- Visually I will still be holding the weights and the strain will continue to increase as this four minute song will happen started off and lead by an off stage and deeper voice. This would be my other self singing a clear lyrical lead to me which I will join into and it will become somewhat of a duet. Eventually the off stage lyrical lead will dissolve and transform into a repeated guttural throat piece. At this point the weight will become enormous, we're talking 7 or 8 minutes in now of me holding two 25 pound boxes with a less than average grip. I will get to the ground and jam my hands into each weight one after the other. The first one will have black tar in it and I will paint my face, the other will have a harness. I will then tie the harness to my waist and attach the two weights.

3. "High Tension"
= This will be an enormously visual part, the music will be full of deeper and more tense vocal harmonies and orchestral parts. Visually, this is the climax - I will pick up a very large weight which will be about the size of my upper body and cradle it next to my head. This will be the longest part, projected at being at least 8 minutes long or as long as I can stand to hold the weight. Eventually I will begin to eat the large box while holding it, and drop to the floor with it due to the exhaustion and fact that my character and most likely me in real life will have not been eating or nourishing himself for a very long time and yet still have to handle these weights. I will drop to the ground  and the reality of what has happened will sink in to my character and he will then rub the blood of this body all over himself, he will eat it, he will put it on his crotch, he will rub it everywhere and craze over it. This thing that he cared for so dearly and tried to give himself up for had done so for him as well.

4. "Closing Song"
- Finally the character will sing a clear lyrical song alone. Despite what any element of character tried to accomplish, staying alive, to survive, wound up meeting the inevitable - embracing death by force and finding as much of a peace with death as possible.

5. "Silence & Breaking"
- The reverse of the first part. There is a meditative silence, the death of the character takes place and he embarks upon heaven. There will be a clear transformation in the character's look by this point, the body will be very strained and vascular, the exhaustion will be impossible to hide and he will lay beside himself and ascend to heaven.
[18 Sep 2009 | Friday]
Sorry that this coded, but it needs to be... or can really only be like this right now. This is just for anyone who is wondering about the progress of the new performance or feel anxious about it.

In a way you could consider Emaciation the aftermath of Burial, or you could consider that they really have nothing to do with themselves. You could consider the character in Emaciation is the same one from Burial after making transformations and becoming more calm and clear and less fanatical.

"Emaciation" in 5 Verses

Concepts/ terms this performance follows: silence, restraint, discipline, angular physical strength, reaching closer to heaven, ascending from the self, talking to (singing with) your other selves

1. Character is nude aside from a white painted rose attached to his chest, and either white or buckskin pants. Hair is clean and combed back and straight. He stands in a spotlight with two heavy black "rectangles" with red cords coming out and attaching them to each other. There is a second character, a large man in a tuxedo sitting in a chair holding a large fur carcass.  Character stands in perfect posture with the heavy rectangles in each hand before the audience, open chested, with nothing and nowhere to hide. The music is a very sharp and eerie choir, there is lots of tension built not only in the tones used in the singing but in continuing to hold the rectangles as a small controlled movement back and forth in place begins by the character. This continues until the character can no longer deal with the movement or the weight of the heavy rectangles and folds over himself into the ground.

II. Tune changes and the sounds of beautiful singing and instruments come in. As the character recovers he misses the first bar of the song he is supposed to sing the words to and a voice begins at the second bar that isn't the character and isn't anyone present. The song becomes a duet between the character and one of his other selves.

III. Once the song is over there is silence and the character bows until he is again folded over himself on the ground. The lights go out and enormous bass melodies appear as the melodies become more orchestral the lights slowly come back and the audience sees the character holding weight again. This time is a singular black rectangle which is as big as the character's upper body and even heavier and harder to grip than the first weights. This continues again as the arduous nature takes course and another small controlled movement begins. The character shows more discipline this time with the tones being much more distracting and the strain on his body becoming worse and more apparent. Holds on as another song begins.

IV. This time the character sings in a deep voice in contrast to most of the music in the performance being deeper music and higher lead singing. The song is sung and ends with the character fulfilling his obligation to carrying the weight. He rests it gently to the ground.

V. A soft, soothing song plays. There is no lead vocals, it is just soothing with sounds of the ocean mimicked by vocalization, the character now either accepts the fur carcass and warps it around himself and stands silently until the music and performance is over or dances energetically due to the achievement he's accomplished. Second character never moves or does anything outward or obvious. This doesn't mean he actually does nothing however.

---

After Emaciation will be "Heaven." You can think of it like this... Burial was the birth to death to rebirth (transformation), a very personal and fanatical approach. Emaciation is the the middle ground between living an honest life of survival and sacrifice... enduring and building discipline in hopes of reaching heaven, and reach out towards the best self possible. "Heaven" will most likely be the end of the series whenever it comes. (Plans are for Heaven to be done as a more orchestral thing with a live choir and string quartet with me focused on singing lyrical leads only live).

BURIAL -> EMACIATION -> HEAVEN
