We know the audition video can be tough for some people to do. Not because you can't work the camera, but because you're not sure what to say or what to do to express yourself. We get it. So here are some general tips that will help you make a motherf***ing kickass audition video.
THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT A VIDEO IS NOW MONDAY, JANUARY 26TH
1. Read and Follow the instructions on the website about what to include and the order before you start making the tape.
2. Test the camera and video first to make sure it actually records sight and sound. Believe it or not sometimes we get totally blank tapes - don't let this happen to you.
3. Don't play music or the TV in the background. We want to see and hear you.
4. Make sure you are in good lighting. Lights should be in front of you, not behind you. For example, face the window and place the camera in front of the window so the daylight is hitting your face.
5. Get excited about what you are talking about. If basketball is your passion you should be pumped to rant on the most overrated player in the NBA. Don't get humble now. We want to know why you are the best.
6. Tell us something we wouldn't know about you just by looking at you. We know you are a talented athlete. But we didn't know you abandoned your rising sports career in college to take care of your sick great-great grandma and rebuild her log cabin from the ground up. Let us know about how you unwind after a tough game with a bubblebath and a glass of fine wine. Whatever it is that makes you stand out from all of the other applicants let us know. There is no such thing as too weird, wild, sad, funny or outrageous as long as it's true.
7. Do you. If you usually curse like a longshoreman (no offense to the clean-mouthed longshoremen out there) or talk with your hands keep doing it. Don't change your personality for us. That is what will make you stand out.
8. Get creative if you want. If you are teacher and feel like doing your interview portion in the classroom, go ahead. It's up to you. If you only have a studio apartment to shoot in that's fine too.
9. Don't take any of this too seriously. The most important part is getting the video done.
10. Realize the casting team cannot spend 3 hours watching your video so it should make you feel better that you don't have to talk forever and don't have to record a whole afternoon of you playing football.
11. If you have any other questions - ask before the deadline.

I DIDN'T LOOK AT THE WEBSITE AND I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS. CAN I ASK YOU?
- Please read all of the information posted in each section of the website. Most of your questions will probably be answered there. But here are some answers to questions most people ask.
DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO BE 21 OR OLDER TO PARTICIPATE?
- YES! You MUST be 21 or older by 2/1/09. And yes, you will have to prove your date of birth if there are any questions about your age.
CAN I CHOOSE TO AUDITION FOR BOTH FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL?
- YES! You can select to audition for either football or basketball or both. Remember that in addition to the combine drills you must complete the sport-specific drills (listed on the website) in your video for the sport of your choice. If you opt to audition for both football and basketball you need to do both sport-specific drills.
WILL IT HURT MY CHANCES IF MY TEAMMATES/FRIENDS AUDITION TOO?
- No. You will be looked at as an individual applicant and be reviewed based on your submission. Wouldn't you want your friends to tell you about this audition if they knew about it?
I PLAY ON A MINOR LEAGUE/SEMI-PRO TEAM, BUT I'VE NEVER BEEN PAID. AM I ELIGIBLE?
- As long as you have never been paid in exchange for your participation in any sport, you should be fine. If you are still unsure, you can apply and we will contact you with any questions we may have.
ARE YOU ACCEPTING ATHLETES WHO PLAY SPORTS OTHER THAN FOOTBALL OR BASKETBALL?
- We are only casting for those who think they could compete against a professional player in either football or basketball. If think you can, but have played hockey your whole life give this a shot. If you can only play baseball and want to compete in baseball you will have to wait for another season.
WILL THE CASTING TEAM REALLY LOOK AT EVERYONE'S AUDITION SUBMISSIONS?
- Yes, we really, really review everyone's auditions application and tapes.
