Hey everybody this is ys girl Aksent and I'm sorry I haven't bee keepin
you up dated I've been so busy trying to promote my album that'll be
droppin June 27th 2006 and I hope that yall really go and get that
support your girl you won't be disapointed.

On this busy month I went out to a lot of beautiful places like
Orlando,West Palm Beach,Miami,and Melbourne.I visited all your local
stations there and I had lots of fun,I did some interviews, freestyled
on air and I even helped give out some prizes they had goin on for that
day. And I also wanted to give 95.1 The Beat a special thank you for
putting a wonderful dinner together for me and grand prize winners at (a great mexican resturant ) I had lots of fun taking pictures, signing pictures and most of all getting to know each person in some kind of way

Everyone was so cool and the food was great too! I didn't get to visit
the beach any because of the busy schedule but I enjoyed the wheather
and the nice hot Florida sun it was a wonderful experince!

Hey what's up ladies and gentlemen I just got off the road and y'all
wouldn't believe where I've been....well here's a brief idea.. Phoenix,
Salt Lake City, Tucson, and Las Vegas and man I had a bangin' time! I
visited a couple of stations did some interviews, but there was a
station that I will never forget Hot 97.5 KVEG in Las Vegas. When we
pulled up and went into the building, I was welcomed with a room full of
wonderful staff, a red carpet, red and white balloons, wonderful soul
food from M&Ms!!! But wait that's not all... I was tricked into doing a
'wild and crazy dance'......lol ohhhhhh my god it was great, very funny
and I actually liked it!! It was the craziest thing ever and I'll never
forget y'all or you especially Donut thanks....Next week Florida and
Atlanta...here I come....Peace!

yall know about my wonderful experience at CD USA and just in case yall
don't know what that is -- its a televised mini concert given only by
direct t.v. CD USA was my 1st actual televised performance and it was
such a great feeling to get out there and show the world who I am...I
had the pleasure in meeting other performers such as John
Sally,Avant,Janes Addiction,Van Hunt and the KING T.I. It was a star
studded event!

Hey everyone itz dat girl again Aksent, I'm into my 4th week of radio
promo and may I say its been exciting and wonderful. This week I visited the Eastcoast, New York City,Boston,Jersey City,Philadelpehia,Albany,Providence,Harford, Portland.Maine it was very much so my first time to all those places my days started at the radio stations doin lots of interviews and tryna get my record played.....lol,

When I got to New York City I had the best time I visited Z100 and had
the pleasure of being a featured artist for the MTV You Hear It First!
Mtv followed me around the whole day and taped me where ever I went,it
was amazing It felt like I was dreaming it was surreal. I had such a
great time but most of all I got all the work done so if you wanna hear
my single Zingy please request it on your local radio stations or if
your on the eastcoast hit your stations up after all my visits still new

Hey what's up everyone "Its Dat Girl Again" A.Keezy.I'm back on the road
for my radio promo tour and Texas has been great they have showed me so
much love out here,just to get specific I've been to San Antonio,Corpus
Christi,Austin,and Houston. Let me just say I'm eatin so much great

short break and I was invited to the DKNY teen vouge fashion show and
let me say it was so fun and very excited for me I saw so many wonderful
pieces from the line that were interesting to see for the first time at
a top of the line fashion show I had so much fun and ill make sure I

currently in Northern California "the bay" and its been what they say
"HYPHY" everythings been goin really well so far I've been to San
Francisco,Sacramento,Stockton and Monterey , all the radio stations have

2006 is the year to let God.

On June 20th, Capitol Records will release International, the debut album from young female MC Ak'Sent. The Los Angeles native teamed up with an undiscovered, Miami-based production team, The Jugganauts, on several tracks, including the first single, "Zingy." With its tongue-twisting rhymes and addictive dancehall beat, "Zingy" makes it clear that this is a young woman with a fierce flow and a clear vision for her music. In addition to rapping, she handles all female backing vocals on the album but she recruited Jamaican reggae icon Beenie Man for this track.  While her work with The Jugganauts has a heavily percussive, Caribbean feel, also contributing on International is the legendary DJ Quik, who blessed Ak'Sent with his production skills and aggressive vibe on "..1."

For the title track, she enlisted a choir of neighborhood kids. "I was a really big Jay-Z fan," Ak'Sent explains. "I loved how he had kids singing on 'It's a Hard Knock Life' so I got some local 10-year-olds into the studio and they were psyched. I told them, 'You guys are going to get a check when the album comes out, so you better start thinking about saving your money!"

 

Ak'Sent is a second-generation rapper her father, an aspiring rapper, died in a gang shooting when she was only four. After his death, her mom made the difficult decision to send Ak'Sent to live with her grandparents in LA's South Central district.  While raised on gospel music, she also sang in several R&B-based girl groups and had extensive dance training (including studies with Debbie Allen and Lula Washington). By the time she was 16, Ak'Sent had completed a 20-song rap demo and was an accomplished performer so accomplished that Capitol signed her one short day after seeing her perform. She dedicates the song "My Life" to her dad. "He inspired me," she says.  "I felt that it was my job to pursue rapping because he didn't get to."
