Forever Slave:
Forever Slave was founded in 2000 by Sergio and Lady Angellyca. Soon after the band got in contact with others musicians and Forever Slave had been born.

Hate, their first mini demo (2000) and Schwarzer Engel (2001) were determining its special music style.

In December 2003 Forever Slave started to record Resurrection, a dark opera about Elizabeth Bathory's life.
In this year the band participated in some festivals.

In Spring 2005, FOREVER SLAVE signed an international deal with Armageddon Music (Germany). The band recordered their debut album ( Alice's Inferno ) between May and June 2005, which it was produced by Lars Ratz. This album became top 9 in metal French Underclass sales, top 27 in Tipo's Sales (Spain) and it was album of the Month in Metal Hammer (Spain)

During 2005-2007 Forever Slave played in important festivals: Wacken Open Air Fest (Germany), Metal Female Voices Fest (Belgium), Rock Stars Festival (Spain) and they shared scenery with bands like Amon Amarth, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Arch Enemy, Battlelore, Carnivore, Celtic Frost, Children of Bodom, The Dogma, Ektomorf, Emperor, Fear Factory, Finntroll, Gamma Ray, In Extremo, Korpiklaani, Michael Schenker Group, Ministry, Morbid Angel, Motörhead, Mystic Circle, Nevermore, Opeth, Primal Fear, The Scorpions, Six Feet Under, Soilwork, Soulfly, Subway To Sally, Victory, Whitesnake, Wintersun,... and gothic metal bands with female singers, per exemple: Tristania, Xandria, Midnattsol, Visions of Atlantis, Theatre of Vampires, Naio Saion,...

Forever Slave recorded their second album in May-August 2007. The title of this album is Tales of Bad Girls and it was released in April 2008 in Europe by Wacken Records/SPV. The promotion of this album was supported with an European tour with Kamelot and Firewind.

Tales for Bad Girls will be released on 7th October 2008 in USA by SPV USA

Now, Sergio and Lady Angellyca are composing new songs for their next album...

Lady Angellyca:
She began performing around age 5. She has worked as a professional gothic model for several model agencies. Angellyca has also appeared in short films. At the present, she selects very well her works. Music and art don't leave enough time for other things

Lady Angellyca took a degree in Fine Arts at San Charles University. She worked like an art teacher in high schools and like a painter for an art gallery. In her spare time she sometimes works like a designer, dark illustrator, webmaster, photographer and model.

Angellyca was born May 2, below the sign of the zodiac Taurus. She was a bit shy, and she loves music and art. She was 13 years old when she started composing her first songs with her guitar. These songs was very poor, but with a lot effort, she got better compositions. When she was 18 years old she change her guitar for the electric bass, and later this one for the voice. Most of the time, Angellyca has been a self-taught musician. She spent 1 year in the choral school of ther city. She studied 2 years in a rock academy and classical singing for 1 year.
During a concert in 2008 Lady Angellyca met a good friend of her and singer, who talked about a teaching staff exchange. Then I started to work with 2 teachers of Modern Singing, one from Denmark and another from Germany. While they teach Angellyca: Jazz/soul/pop vocal styles; Angellyca teached them how to paint  pictures and drawing.

She is singer of FOREVER SLAVE. She recorded her first demo in 2000 and their first album was released by Armageddon Music (Germany) in 2005. Lars Ratz (Metalium) was their productor. She started like a self-taught singer but she studied classical vocals at conservatory and in a rock academy for several years. At the moment she is working hard to finish his vocals studies. In October 2006, she travelled to Paris (France) to record a duet with Franck Senecal (singer of the rock band S.O.M.).

During 2005-2007 Forever Slave played in important festivals: Wacken Open Air Fest (Germany), Metal Female Voices Fest (Belgium), Rock Stars Festival (Spain) shared scenery with bands like Amon Amarth, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Arch Enemy, Battlelore, Carnivore, Celtic Frost, Children of Bodom, The Dogma, Ektomorf, Emperor, Fear Factory, Finntroll, Gamma Ray, In Extremo, Korpiklaani, Michael Schenker Group, Ministry, Morbid Angel, Motörhead, Mystic Circle, Nevermore, Opeth, Primal Fear, The Scorpions, Six Feet Under, Soilwork, Soulfly, Subway To Sally, Victory, Whitesnake, Wintersun,... and gothic metal bands with female singers, per exemple: Tristania, Xandria, Midnattsol, Visions of Atlantis, Theatre of Vampires, Naio Saion,...

Now, she is composing new songs for her band Forever Slave and works in another projects at the same time.

Interviewer:Eric

Eric: Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions Lady Angellyca.

Lady Angellyca: Thanks to you.

Eric: I visited your personal website and I noticed it said you were a model and actress as well. Tell us a little about your other jobs other than fronting Forever Slave.

Lady Angellyca: Hahaha, and you forgot that I’m an artist too. Everything started when I studied Fine Arts at the university. A friend of me studied photography and one day she got an interesting project and she needed a model, but she needed a girl with a dark style. She thought about me and my gothic model career started here. I have posed for advertisement, dark fashion catalogs and websites,… It’s a funny job. I like it.

About my actress career, I have appear in some film, advertisement,… but I have work more in theatre than cinema. Because I have worked for a theater company some years. We went to a tour,… It’s a life similar of a musician: a lot rehearsals, tours,… hahaha It’s funny too but I prefer the musician job.
Eric: Is it hard trying to do all these different jobs at one time?

Lady Angellyca: Sometimes, because you are worked in a project and suddenly you got a tour or a concert and you must decide. What thing is more important in that moment, what you prefer ,… ufff it’s a jam

Eric: If you had to pick your favorite job you do which one would it be and why?

Lady Angellyca: I like work as a web design and artists because I studied for being an artist. And I love work as a musician, for the same reason. I’m a good Taurus an art and music, it’s my life.

Eric: Do you try to incorporate your other jobs into your music?

Lady Angellyca: Yes, for me art and music are complemented each other. When I compose a vocal melody for my band Forever Slave, most of the time I get my inspiration from a picture, illustration,… and when I create a picture I need to listen music to get my inspiration

Eric: Tales for Bad Girls is your sophomore release and I think it is great. Tell me what is the meaning around the album?

Lady Angellyca: Thanks, very much. Tales for Bad Girls is a collection of stories with a Romantic touch where a woman has the leading role. If the main character was a man, he would become an heroe. But the main character is a woman and society’s prejudiced against women, so these women are bad girls and bad people. They couldn’t choose their stories and their genre

Eric: Some of the tracks have some pretty interesting titles. Are you expressing real life events that may have happened to you or somebody you know?

Lady Angellyca: All of them has a base in real life. But I give my Romantic touch and I transform the real story, so The identity of the real characters is protected.
Except our ballad THE LOVERS that is about a couple who must separate. Sea entails the boyfriend. And the girlfriend waits everyday at the beach that he return. The years flew and for people the girls become a crazy woman who wandered by the seaside. At the end she decides to threw herself into the water. Here the spirit of the women finds the spirit of his boyfriend.

Eric: What are your future plans with Forever Slave? Do you plan on leaving the band in the near future to persuade your modeling or acting?

Lady Angellyca: Our plans is looking for concerts, concerts and look for more concerts. Hahaha. No I don’t have plans on leaving the band. I think I can combine very well all my jobs.

Eric: How was it like touring with Kamelot?

Lady Angellyca: The tour with Kamelot was a very great experience, we learnt a lot. Beside the guys form Kamelot are very good people. UFFF I hope we can repeat the experience very soon again

Eric: Do male fans give you a hard time when playing live because of your looks?

Lady Angellyca: Sometime, but it’s not usual. Our male fans are usually very respectful toward me

Eric: Are there any plans for a tour in the United States?

Lady Angellyca: No, at the moment. As I told you we are looking for concerts at the moment

Eric: Time for something completely different. What is your favorite television show of all time?

Lady Angellyca: Ufff I don’t watch TV. When I have spare time I usually read, study or I surf the net

Eric: Would you consider a cup cake in a league of its own or is it a cake?

Lady Angellyca: (silence)

Eric: Last but not least tell us why we should buy Tales of Bad Girls on October 7th?

Lady Angellyca: Because you will find a lot stories and melodies which can seduce your soul and becoming our slave forever ;)

Eric: Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. We'll have to do this again whenever you get the time.

Lady Angellyca: Thanks to you.
Saturday, February 14, 2009

First of all Lady Angellyca Id like to welcome you to our Interviews section here at Metal Temple Magazine.

Thanks. Its an honor for me, you can be sure about that. :)

Q:Before I ask you about the band youre fronting, Forever Slave, Id like to ask you a few things about yourself first. Youre a professional model and a singer too, right? Am I forgetting anything? Please, do tell us a few things about you, a short bio lets say. Like when you started modeling, at what age did that happen? Same question goes for your involvement with music.

A:Im an artist, a model and a singer. Also, I had some contracts to work as an actress in the past.

About my career in art and photography: I took a degree in Fine Arts at San Charles University. I have worked like an art and graphic design teacher in a high school and a painter for an art gallery. In my spare time I sometimes work as a designer and photographer. Right now Im a business woman and I have created a designing company only for the underground world called Lady Angellyca Underground.

In 2001, I seriously thought about my career as a model. I have worked for several years with many professional photographers like: Mercedes Durn, S. Perry, Victor S., Valenzuela, Alice U.M., DM Media etc ... My first runaway was when I was 4 years old, because my uncle is a clothing designer and he was the owner of a clothing shop. Yet modeling for me is not a job. Its a thing that I do in my spare time. Firstly, Im an artist and if Im not so busy I do some modeling work too.

My singing career started when I was 13 years old although Im a self-taught singer. And this is so hard.

Q:Is it hard to be a model and a singer at the same time? Dont those two things ever collide in terms of schedule?

A:Its not difficult because I studied in order to be an artist and not a model. So Im not always working as a model, yet its difficult to be an artist and singer at the same time. Because I must meet my customers and If Im on a tour I cant do that. I have a lot of work, a lot of underground work and these customers know my work like a singer and they can understand that I would be on a tour.

Q:Would you ever drop any of those two features of your life? If so, which one would you drop and why?

A:I would leave modeling, of course. I like modeling but it is not a job which you could win enough money to live from.

Q:What are your influences as a model and as a singer?

A:As a model my influences could be found in a photographer called Helmut Newton. This is my main influence. Like a singer my influence come from classical music: opera and sacra music.

Q:As far as modeling and Heavy Metal go, tell us if youve done any photo shootings for any bands (other than ones youve been in), Metal magazines etc.

A:I have sometimes been a cover girl, for example the catalogue of Unholy Cross and Black Light.

Im also a cover girl on some CDs of bands from different countries: USA, Sweden, Spain...though I have decided that I wont leave my image on any bands CD anymore, at the moment. Because there are people that could think that I collaborate with all these bands.

QNow, lets talk about Forever Slave a bit. If someone came up to you and asked you what your band plays, how would you describe it to him?

A:Forever Slave mixes Classical musics instruments (violin, piano...) together with Metal music. Our guitars and drums try to sound as powerful as possible. In "Resurrection", our demo, you can notice that. But our upcoming new CD is stronger than our demo.

Q:When and how did Forever Slave form?

A:Forever Slave was founded in 2000 by Servalath and me. Soon after the band got in contact with others musicians Forever Slave was born.

"Hate", our first mini demo (2000) and "Schwarzer Engel" (2001) determined our special music style. The copies were limited for both CDs. During these years we played on many tours and gigs. In May 2004 Forever Slave released "Resurrection", our present demo CD and recently, we signed an important contract with the German record label Armageddon Music. So our upcoming CD will be distributed around the world.

Q:Officially youve only released one self-produced/self-promoted album, "Resurrection", in 2003. Havent you had any offers from labels ever since? Are you going to sign with a label in the near future? I mean, your musics pretty good and it sort of amazes me to see its been 2 years since "Resurrection" and still nothing more official.

A:Forever Slave signed with Armageddon Music for an international record deal. We will enter the studio for our debut in May. Lars Ratz will produce the album in the Tornado Studio in Mallorca (Spain) and will mix it in Tornado Studios in Hamburg (Germany). And this new CD will be released by the end of September 2005.

Q:Talk to us a bit about "Resurrection". First of all, who wrote the lyrics?

A:Im the songwriter in the band. The story of "Resurrection" is about a real character: Countess E. Bathory. Although this character is very related to the vampiric world, I tried to tell the "true" story. I used historical facts concerning her time. "Resurrection" is about the love and hate story between E. Bathory and Ophelia (one of her maids and victims). I like history and E. Bathory and Lucrecia Borgia are my favorites.

Q:Is it true that Kristian Gundersen of Sirenia made a guest appearance on "Resurrection"? Want to tell us a few things about that?

A:[Laughs]... Yes, its a funny story. I was on MSN Messenger and I was bored because I had to write the lyrics for a new song for my band and I didnt know what write. I was desperate. And Kris helped me with this lyrics.

Q:Is that you on the cover artwork of "Resurrection"?

A:Yes, Im the model and the one who designed this cover.

Q:What about live performances? What is the bands status as far as live performances go? Have you been in any major festivals in Spain or outside Spain?

Are there any immediate plans for any shows?

A:At the moment we wont be playing in any live shows because were starting to record in less than a month, so we are so busy with our new songs and the recording. Perhaps we could play in important festivals in and out of Spain, but nothings scheduled at the moment. We have nothing confirmed. Though if we officially confirm something, you can be sure that Metal Temple Magazine will be one of first mass media which will know it!

Q:Tell us a bit about Spain. How tough is the Metal scene over there? Is the competition hard?

A:The Metal scene in Spain is hermetic. Anything go out Spain and a no many thing come to Spain. The bands usually support themselves, and this is a good advantage. In Spain there are very good musicians, but its very easy to be anonymous forever. Not many bands release albums over here.

Q:Whats the most important thing in life for you?

A:My family and my boyfriend and then singing.

Q:What are your ambitions in life as a person and what are your musical ambitions with Forever Slave but also as an individual?

A:Id like people from around the world to get to know our music and to also get to play for these people. This is my only ambition (or wish).

Q:What do you think of the Internet? Do you use it a lot? Do you read online magazines?

A:I love internet. My hobby is browsing the net. I like to know new Metal websites around the world. Of course I usually read online magazines, mainly magazines about Metal like yours.

Q:What do you think of our mascot, Alice, sitting on top of our site?

A:When I found your site, she was the one who invited me, the one who made me interested in your site. I think that shes a very good idea and character.

Q:Last but not least, send out a message to all our readers. From my part, thanks a lot for your time and I wish you all the best in life and with your band, Forever Slave!

A:Thanks to you too. And for your readers I must say THANKS for reading this interview and if they want to get more info about Forever Slave you can find out more at our site: http://www.foreverslave.com

And if they want to get more info about my modeling career then visit my official site: http://www.ladyangellyca.com

BrianX Magazine: Describe your youth.
Lady Angellyca: I have always been into metal music. When I was a child my cousin listen heavy, rock (Ozzy, Alice Cooper,..),...and I remember that they taught songs. My face, hair is a bit "special" and I remember that people called me Morticia or Wednesday [from the Addams' Family] when I was at high School. The best was that these characters were my favourites :P  They weren't afraid of me because I'm a person that has the human touch and I had a lot of friends then everybody knew me and I think they didn't care about my look.

How did you get into creating artwork?
I studied Art at university. I have been an art teacher and I have had people from university, high school. But people think that the art is something that everybody who reads a photoshop tutorial
is a great artist, however, their best compositions are shit when a professional sees them, because we don't know anything about composition, colour, and others things. I can tell that I work free. I work more that I can win. When I work like a model win more. But I will always say: first I'm an artist then a model.

What is it about horror, erotica, medieval and dark fantasy art that make you so passionate about it?
I love the Romanticism and they love all that things. I love the legends that wrote Gustavo Adolfo Becker, and their are the inspiration for my character, songs, and of course, as a model I love performing them.

Your website is great yet has a spooky feel to it. Did you design it yourself?
Thanks. Yes, I designed everything. I studied throughout 5 years at art university.

How did you get into modeling?
I have always been into modeling. My uncle was a great dressmaker. When I was four years old I was posing. But I have never thought of this as a job.

Your singing involves mixing opera and normal voice, a truly unique combination! How did you discover that you had such a talent?
I started to play the guitar when I was 3 years old and when I was 14 years old I recorded a demo. I sang on the demo. I wanted to sing but I must learn guitar too to make my own music. When I was 18 years old I bought my first electric bass guitar and I thought that the strings weren't enough for me. I was not happy. And I decided to leave guitar and bass. One day I broke my guitar and sold my bass. And then the voice was my instrument. Now I go on singing and I love it. I think that guitar was my impossible lover, but I was very lucky because I found my true love (the voice), because there are a lot people that never find it.

What's your greatest talent?
I'm never satisfied with anything. I always think that all can be better. I think that this is my talent that I look for the maximum perfection in all my work.

Favorite place on the planet?
Germany, I love that country. I dream about going again some day. I love North Europe too.

What is the most angry you have ever been?
Umm I usually am h
appy and I have good relationships with everybody. I try to solve all problems with people. I don't remember any [times in particular], perhaps when I was a child when my sister stole my toys :P

Pet peeves?
No I don't have any.

Thong versus regular undies, and why?
I love sexy black or dark red underwear. I wear over-knee socks. I like feeling sexy and I don't know the reason, but I love this sort of clothes.

What's the most common question that people ask you?
Are you sure that you want to know that?!!... Well people usually ask me: Do you have pot? And I always tell them: No, I don't smoke. When people see a person that wear black clothes think that you must be a drug-taker or something.

What do you want the world to know about you?
Umm, that I exist, only this.

What's the greatest risk you have ever taken?
An artist or model or singer is a business person. You must sell everybody your work, your image, your music, your words...everything. And you always have great risks.

What scares you?
Anything. If you don't dare to do anything you will never have, so one must take a risk. The worst that can happen is that you die.

What's the deal with Halloween in Spain/Europe?
Halloween doesn't exist in Spain. It's something that come from EEUU. Here there is this day a thing called el dia de los difuntos. And if October 30th at night you find the Santa Compaña (this is a procession of souls) you will die very soon. Then people this day didn't go out to not find that souls. On November 1st, everybody goes to visit the graveyards.

Are you into witchcraft?
I played with tarot, but that I don't consider that witchcraft.

Do you always dress in dark/gothic clothes?
Yes, I'm an artist if I don't dress this way, the owner of art galleries don't want me.

If you could have anything in the world, what would it be?
I can't lie I desire all money of the world, then people can't fight for anything.

Ever been to Canada or the US?
Never . It's a pity, because I'd like to go.

Any secret pleasures?
Yes, chocolate.

Would you describe yourself as more dominant or submissive in bed?
The bed is for sleep. If you would tell me the beach, an elevator, ...or another different place...

Favorite upcoming projects?
A lot, my mind is always thinking of new things. But my band, Forever Slave, will be recording our new CD this month and I guess that it will be released this year.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In a house, with children and my husband.
