"Simple Song" will be featured on Sugar Dancefloor 2009 compilation, available July 28!

Physical and digital distribution through Sugar King label.

Here's the lyrics to the song....Be groovy and bouncy this summer!

............

Johnny is a small-town boy....

Just made it to the city....

Feelin’ lost in the multitude....

You know it ain’t easy....

So when he gets a little down....

He likes to sing a simple song....

A song of hope, a song of now....

It goes something like this.......

.. ..

I don’t know what in the world goes wrong, but it keeps going on....

(x2)....

.. ..

Oh Donna is a nice young girl....

Her daddy’s got a lot of money....

She likes to go out on a Saturday night....

Sometimes she feels guilty....

So when she gets a little down....

She likes to sing a simple song....

A song of hope, a song of now....

It goes something like this....

.. ..

I don’t know what in the world goes wrong, but it keeps going on....

(x2)....

I don’t know what in the world....

I don’t know anymore....

I don’t know what in the world goes wrong....

All I know is you gotta stay strong....

.. ..

Boy meets girl, you know the story....

Guess what happened to Johnny....

Livin’ with Donna made him rich....

So now he feels a little guilty....

So when he gets a little down....

He still sings a simple song....

A song of hope, a song of now....

It goes something like this....

.. ..

I don’t know what in the world goes wrong, but it keeps going on....

(x2)....

I don’t know what in the world....

I don’t know anymore....

I don’t know what in the world goes wrong....

All I know is you gotta stay strong....

.. ..

Well it's finally on line...

After a name change to keep that Frenchy flavor, Radiocassette is ready to fire!
I joined forces with Cityzen F and it's a blast from the past, with guitars and all....

Check out the tracks here:

My solo album from 2007, 'Dans Mes Rêves', can also be downloaded for free now, as it is not commercially available anymore.

Hey there, it's been a while uh?

Well, I had to take a break from music for some personal reasons...but...but...
new stuff will be up soon!

In fact I've started a brand new project with my old friend Cityzen F: Boom Box!

Expect some crazy mish-mash of styles, Clash-like punky-funky joints, on the new myspace we'll create for it...

So stay tuned, ya hear!

Well I usually post something totally irrelevant in the summer, so in keeping with the tradition, here goes!!

This video is simply amazing:

I had no idea a single individual could create such amazing special effects.... Alexis you're the man!

Well the Freeway Lights EP is finally out on new weblabel Still Muzik!

Go check it out right here:

www.stillmuzik.com

It's quite a departure from my debut LP 'Dans mes rêves', which was almost completely in French and much more electronic, so I'll try to explain each song a little bit.

Simple Song is just that, a simple pop song and it's the one track that prompted me to write in English and also sing more. So if you don't like that one...you're probably not gonna like the rest!

To the Unborn Child is more experimental (pretty much every sound was done using my bass). This is about expecting a child, which is (understatement coming....) a powerful experience! Listen to the song to see what I mean...

What U Gonna Do is basically an angry fuck you type of song. Feels good to say it every once in a while: FUCK YOU!! See? Much better.

Stash Box is pretty obvious, it's a funk song about smoking weed. I guess the spirit of Rick James must have come upon me or something....

Disco King is my lucky song, it earned me some money through the movie deal and allowed me to keep on recording basically. It goes back to 2004, but Biof did a nice-ass remix, so here it comes again!

So voila, there you have it!! Hope you enjoy it, mesdames et messieurs!

well, it's official. Just as I got bored with hip-hop at the end of the 90's, I'm now bored with electro!

Not for the same reasons though: hip-hop stopped appealing to me at some point because it was all about bravado and gun talk instead of music....(then Jay-Dee came along, but that's a whole other story)

With electro, it has more to do with technology. Basically, modern software has made it REAL easy to record electronic club music (Ableton Live, anyone?).
As a consequence, most acts just sound the same, so....I got bored!! I can only withstand so many Justice clones before turning back to my Clash LP's. And don't get me started on DJ's! I think my mother just became one...

Anyhow my ramblings DO have a point: I'm trying to explain the change of style in my own music, as some listeners seem surprised when they hear my new stuff. I started off as a bass player, so now for me, it's back to the roots. And live instruments! (sort of)

My new EP should be out on the brand-new Still Muzik site in a few days, so hopefully you'll see what I mean... And like what you hear!!

Disclaimer: now don't be offended if you're an electro DJ, this is just the personnal opinion, as a musician and music-lover, of me, myself, and I. As De La used to say.
Disclaimer to the disclaimer: if you're too young to understand the De La Soul reference....go look it up you lazy ass!

Hey all!

I'm very happy to say "Simple Song" was featured this saturday on the Bristol Uncovered radio show by Richard Pitt & Gary Smith.

You can listen to the show this week here:

HERE!

(click on Listen again, it's in the last half hour of the show)

I have to say I'm real glad my music is well received over in Britain, as it's always a challenge for a French guy to sing in English!
