Yes I believe I did. Hold on... Washington DC is a creative town. (gasp!) I know, hard to take, but it is true.
In my nearly 3 years here in this city, I've had the pleasure of meeting some of the most talented and creative people I've ever come into contact with. However, to try to make a living in a creative field, in a town more known for it's politics and posture, than for it's paintings and prose, is a hard road to follow. Being one of these creative types, I wanted to set out and start an awareness of the things going on in and around this town, and so this is why I started a blog/website called "
District Creatives". What I want to do, is create a buzz with different areas of creativity about this city. If there's a great band or DJ playing, one that you haven't heard of but is amazing, I want to know and write about it. If there's an exhibition of an artist that just finished Corcoran, and is phenomenal, and no one knows it yet, let's promote this. If you've ever been to a restaurant, and you had a dish that was incredible, and you want to tell it to your friends, let me know and let's tell all of them. If you have a moment, please check out the site and let me know what you think of it, as well as of the idea of creating a more visible presence for the very talented pool of individuals that reside here in our nations capital.
