Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who came out to any of the final Scouts Honor shows.  The tour was the best that the band ever went on (much too short if you ask me).  Thank you to David (Bitch-kits - like biscuits), Erny (Turbo), and Austin (Awesome / Boston) for all being great buds on this tour, as well as Atomic, Mackey, Kent, Jeremiah, Dustin, Bob, Kevin, JW, Krebill, Schone, Brett, Grant, and Sean Knight for all being great road dogs in the past.  Thanks to Jenn, Brett, Austin, Mike, and Grant for using their artistic abilities to make us look better (seriously, we go through gallons of make-up on tour!).  Thanks to the bands who shared the stage with us on this tour, especially Tina Sparkle, The Serpent Son, Empty Orchestra, The Dowry, Chris Mackey, Black Teeth, Cloud Mouth, Hinter, Your Dukes, Caterpillar Tracks, Fuckin Gnarly, Lost Hands Found Fingers, This Year's Tiger, The Infamous Jaguar Shark, The Needlepoints, Over Stars And Gutters, and Teenage Bottlerocket.  It was amazing to get to rock one last time with so many old friends from a variety of states, as well as make some new friends.  In fact, thanks to all of our friends who helped us out on the road over ALL of the years.  Special thanks to Planes Mistaken for Stars (always the helpful older brothers), Arresting the Fall (convinced me to restart the band with Atomic), No Idea Records (gave us a reason to keep going 3 years ago), Armada In Flames (for being so supportive that the owner not only released our records, but played and toured on them), Madstateworld (for making it possible for us to live the dream of touring overseas and opening for Hot Water Music), and Smith 7 Records (for releasing our release with the most intense packaging right before we went on a 3 month hiatus).  I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but this has to end somewhere.  Just know that I love all of you am so thankful to have you in my life.
-Jared Grabb (Jay-Rod / Jay-Rad of Scouts Honor)

PS- I'm collecting video and photos from the final tour for some kind of document to be released with our final album.  If you have anything, please upload it to mediafire.com and send the link to me at jaredgrabb@yahoo.com or j@thinkerthoughtwrong.com.

I suppose I need to come out and make an announcement for Scouts Honor.  The band will be traveling for its FINAL TOUR in March 2009.  After six years of doing this band and fighting to keep it's line-up filled, I've decided to call it a day.  Around the release of 2006's I Am The Dust, I was struggling to keep things afloat.  In the course of one year, Scouts Honor played 150+ shows with four different drummers and two different bass players.

Finally, after moving to Chicago, I found a new Scouts Honor "family" in David Dobbs and Ernesto Castillo.  We had written most of an album, toured Europe, and just had a blast joking around in the van.  Well, in recent months, our drummer David returned to Arkansas for family reasons, greatly limiting his activity with a band based out of Chicago.  He has decided to return to college, keeping him in Arkansas until 2010.  Meanwhile, our bassist Erny is focusing more and more on his career.  I no longer have an interest in teaching new members to play old songs.  It just doesn't seem like Scouts Honor is a good use of my time anymore.  So, I'ved called it.

Scouts Honor's final tour will take us down to SXSW in Austin, TX and around the Midwest in March of 2009.  We will be recording a final EP of new material during the tour to be released after the band's breakup.  If you would like to follow each of our musical projects after March, David will be rocking in Har Meggido, Erny will be rocking in a new project called Dorsia, and Jared will be touring with an acoustic guitar and releasing his 2nd solo album.

Thank you all so much for your support over the years.  I've slept at a lot of houses, rocked a lot of shows, and drank a lot of alcohol with you.  I can never thank you all enough for sharing this dream, whether you played in the band, sang along, hung out, bought a record, cooked us food, recorded our music, released our music, or put us up for the night.  Thanks.

Scouts Honor is back in the form of myself (Jared Grabb) and David Dobbs (new drummer from Little Rock, AR).  We recently recorded a Floor cover with Mike Lust for an upcoming No Idea compilation and completed a tour with Low Red Land.  Low Red Land's bass player, Ben, filled in as bass player for the shows.  We hope to find a new permanent bass player this winter.

Our first day of tour found us in Madison, WI at the dreaded Klinic Bar.  Our last experience here was less than ideal, but we figured we'd give it another try since Low Red Land had performed to a good crowd there the last time they toured through.  We played after a stand-up comedy performance (a first for all of us) and played to a very small crowd.  Oh, and a pretty terrible Australian band played too (cue fake crying on stage).

We took Thursday off and hung out in Chicago with Low Red Land.  Friday, tour started back up at Reggie's in Chicago (new MP Shows all-ages venue).  We had a great time drinking and eating.  Fake Problems were great as usual, too.

Low Red Land "Dog's Hymn" LIVE at Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago, IL on 10-12-07

After an early work shift on Saturday, I joined the guys to head down for two shows in Peoria.  The first, an all ages show at a church, was our biggest show of the trip.  It was a lot of fun to see what the young kids in my hometown scene are up to.  My young friends in Waster just got a record deal in the Netherlands and had a new 7".

Scouts Honor "Canvas" LIVE at 1st Church of God in East Peoria, IL on 10-13-07

The second Peoria show was a late 21+ show at the Pizza Works.  This show was smaller and more of a get together of personal friends.

Low Red Land "Gunfighter's Afternoon" LIVE at Pizza Works in Peoria Heights, IL on 10-13-07

Saturday night ended in a drunken haze down at Richard's on Main.  I managed to give David and Low Red Land a crash course on Jared's "Party Mode" by getting "Grabbed".  Much fun was had by all. Sunday led us south to continue tour in St. Louis, MO.  It was awesome to see Drew (formerly of the amazing Camp Climax for Girls) rock with Ring, Cicada.  Bluebird is a new venue and a great one at that.

We stayed overnight with Drew in Alton, IL on Sunday.  Drew was quite the host.  Monday led us to the last night with Low Red Land in Bloomington, IN at Uncle Fester's.  This show was small but rowdy.  Our pals in The Cool Girlfriends played with us and we had a great time.  Much drinking was done by Neil, Marc, and me.  We danced to Dr. Hook.

The tour was great.  It got David and I way motivated to write a new album and find new members this winter.  We're pumped and hope you are too.  Cheers!
