We rescued 3 mares from a ranch in the Warner Springs area. The former owners name will NOT be disclosed.
1.) Registered Jockey Club Mare 11 years old. Papers in hand.
Registered name Bee a Tigress. Foaled Jan 25, 1998 by Lord Tiger
out of Silverdrone by Drone. Drone's children had a 76% starting, and a 55% winners. Total winnings for Drone's children total $73million. Tigress will be adopted out as a Broodmare only! Due to an old leg injury the former owner didn't take care of. It is NOT a birth defect. Looks to be the result of a kick. She is not in pain and has come accustomed to it. Tigress leads, ties, trailers, picks up all four feet. Tigress will come UTD on all shots, worming, farrier. Tigress is dark bay/ black, white star, one white sock.
Papers in hand. Broodmare or lead line only for small children, small periods of time. Gets along great with other horses, not pushy. Eats from the same feeder as another rescued mare. Excellent bloodlines. Have her 5 generation record. As well as more records we ordered. Will make excellent babies for Dressage, Reigning or even Racing. The Jockey Club has her listed as being bred in 09. The vet will know for sure if she is in foal or not. Tigress has foaled other babies. Bee a Tigress is FREE to a good home!
2.) Valentine is a quarter horse mare grade (Prior owner would not give us her papers nor her bloodlines) Valentine is dark bay/ black. Slim white blaze down her face, one white sock. 100%  healthy and sound. Advanced beginner until further evaluation. Trailers, ties, tacks, untacks, grooms, stands for worming.  Valentine will come UTD on all shots, farrier, teeth floating, and worming. Valentine would make a great trail, barrel, eventing, or? She will make a wonderful addition to anyones family. Not pushy, has already become buddies with another rescue mare. No bite, buck, kick, or rear. Puppy dog personality. Valentine is 8 years old. Catch her anywhere. Valentine will not be available for adoption until she gains weight!
3.) Pepsi. Quarter/Pony Cross Mare. Standing approx 14.2hh. Dark bay in color. Advanced beginner pending further evaluation. Ties, trailers, tacks, bareback, western, sweet disposition. No bite, buck, kick, or rear. We were told she was used as a PlayDay, and trail horse for a 12 year old girl. Awaiting a trail ride as soon as weather permits. She is 12 years old. Will come UTD on all shots, worming, farrier, and teeth floating. Will not be available for adoption pending more weight!
Pictures coming soon! Keep checking back for updates on these girls.

Boy oh boy.. What a day!! Last minute horse hauler change. He was delayed extremly (2hours). All in all Dakota was tucked into her stall at our facility at 9pm. Dakota settled right in, quickly finding her feed, and water! :) Dakota was formly known as Bella.. I changed her name immediately. I stuck with our naming after cars theme! Dodge Dakota! Although I'm not a huge fan of those...I do think Dakota matches her quite nicely. She is a 14 year old registered BLM mustang mare. I have all of her paperwork from the previous owner including the original bill of sale! wow! :) Dakota is fiesty, but I think working with her for a few weeks and she will be golden. :) She is 15.1 hh I'm finding I'm liking the horses shorter. ;) More and more pictures to come! Dakota does need some weight, but I'm confident I can bring her back up to full par soon. :) Dakota will be moved back and forth from our overflow facility and our main facility as rescue horses available for adoption will fill our stall at our Temecula facility. Our overflow facility is owned/operated by a awesome family. Mother and 2 daughter team! They are very good with horses, and have miles and miles of trails. :) I'm just so excited! I've been looking for a GREY MARE for a long time. To kind of take the place of the 2 I had to give up in our move from Missouri to California. =/ More updates to come! Stay tuned! :D

Today was a very sad day. One of the Co-Founders, and my best friend Danielle Miller.. Had to put her beloved Thoroughbred ShyBoy down. The vet said he came down with collic.. But the symptoms weren't collic like.. He was was walking on the part of his leg right above his hooves.. bending forward.. He was disorientated, stumbling, and slamming his head down.. Danielle did all she could, but in the end had to make the hardest choice.. to humanely put him to sleep.. We are suspecting perhaps he had a stroke, or? If anyone has ever heard of these types of symptoms before.. And may have an answer as to what it actually was.. Please email us! We do not think it was collic.. But aren't sure really what it was.. It seems like brain damage, or nerve damage for the back legs to do that.. No injury prior to this.

Once upon a time there was a wise man

who used to go to the ocean

to do his writing.

He had a habit of walking

on the beach

before he began his work.

One day he was walking along

the shore.

As he looked down the beach,

he saw a human

figure moving like a dancer.

He smiled to himself to think

of someone who would

dance to the day.

So he began to walk faster

to catch up.

As he got closer, he saw

that it was a young man

and the young man wasn't dancing,

but instead he was reaching

down to the shore,

picking up something

and very gently throwing it

into the ocean.

As he got closer he called out,

"Good morning! What are you doing?"

The young man paused,

looked up and replied,

"Throwing starfish in the ocean."

"I guess I should have asked,

why are you throwing starfish in the ocean?"

"The sun is up and the tide is going out.

And if I don't throw them in they'll die."

"But, young man, don't you realize that

there are miles and miles of beach

and starfish all along it.

You can't possibly make a difference!"

The young man listened politely.

Then bent down, picked up another starfish

and threw it into the sea,

past the breaking waves and said-

"It made a difference for that one."

Even though we know we are unable to save every horse in need.. Knowing that we CAN make a difference to the horses we are able to save.. Makes all the difference in the world to us.. The smallest act of kindness. CAN make a difference!

We are always in need of volunteers. To help with the day to day care of rescue horses.. Cleaning stalls, grooming horses, lunging, exercising, and generally giving rescue horses one on one time. We have a work for riding program set up for volunteers. For every four hours of work, volunteers receive a voucher for one hour of riding. They can use it themselves or give it away. They do not expire. However they can only be used when we have rideable horses in our ownership. Which is 90% of the time. All volunteers, and anyone at the facility will sign a release of liability form. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer. Contact us at CntryGrlHrseSlz@yahoo.com

We are always extremly greatful for all hay and feed donations!

We take all gently used horse related items. We hold tack sales, when we have enough tack. 100% of the proceeds from the tack sales. Go towards purchasing hay, feed, farrier, and vet services for our rescue horses.

We are in need of excavating services.

We are always in need of horse fencing, panels.

We appreciate greatly any and all donations! Thank you thank you! To everyone who has donated, and to everyone who will donate in the future.

Even though slaughter houses were closed in the United States.. Meat buyers are still very actively purchasing horses at auction for meat. The horses are then taken across the boarder.. Canada.. or Mexico... Horse owners.. please do not send your horses to auction! The meat buyer purchases atleast 80% of all horses that go through the auction! If you are a horse owner that can no longer afford to keep and maintain your horses, please please.. Contact a local horse rescue!
