Hello all,

We have got a long string of gigs for 2009 now, but we are still looking for dates in September and November!

Also, exciting stuff... We are planning a Yule Tour. We have put together an album of Christmas material, and we shall be gigging it this Christmas. We have a few xmas gigs booked in, but if you would like us in your village hall, venue, club, garden, front room...... Please get in touch. We would like as many Christmas gigs as possible to promote the festive CD!

Much love,

Sam

Hello everyone,

Two exciting things: We have a new video up for your delectation - a montage of amateur footage from Shrewsbury Folk Festival this year - the best festival in the country!

Also, Kerfuffle are taking a small break from gigs whilst Hannah goes to Finland from Jan-May 2009 to study. However on her return, we are touring the country for the whole of June. We have some gigs up already, many more are being negotiated. Make sure you come and see us!

Greetings,

Over the past few weeks we have been receiving mixes of album tracks from dear Andy Bell. Things are sounding pretty exciting. We have taken leaps into the realms of epicness with a song called Down By The Greenwood Side. There are a few moments of epicness on this album actually - Betty Corrigall's Lament being another example. Look up Betty Corrigall on Google and read about her story. That's what the track is about.

We have a mixture of contemporary stuff (Katie Shaw, Mohacs, Rondo de Seltrad) and a load of very very old stuff too (some Playford tune from 1651). It's an album ranging from epic to frivolous, short to long, comfortable and experimental, new to old - but it's definitely the best thing we have produced yet.

As things stand, you should be able to get copies from April/May time. We might have some pre-release copies at gigs before the official release. Watch this space for preview tracks. I'll whack a few up in the near future.

Love always,

Hey guys,

There is an awesome new project called Stepnote that has just been released in the UK, and it's all about finding a teacher that is exactly suited to their pupil. If anyone wants to learn an instrument, (especially a folky one!), then do look on www.stepnote.co.uk and have a look. It's always difficult to find folky teachers in your local area so have a look :)

Love,

Sam

Hello hello,

Well, the recording was finished exactly one week ago today, and the cabin fever has worn off now. What can you expect from 'To The Ground'?

Well, it sounds pretty big. The album is much more 'produced' than our previous offerings - along with Andy Bell (our producer/engineer), we have thought a lot about producing an album that will titillate your sonic tastebuds, and not just be a representation of our live performance. This was an immensely exciting process for us, and we hope you enjoy listening to it!

The album is primarily made up of English material, apart from the odd tune here and there. Previous albums have featured music from Ireland, Scotland, Sweden and even the USA, but on this album we really felt like working on the traditional (and some contemporary) music of England.

We also feature a guest on the album - Andy Letcher (http://www.myspace.com/tellingthebees). I met Andy on the EAC Summer School, and he is an amazing piper. He plays on a tune called 'Mount Hills', which he taught me on the summer school, and it's looking to be a real highlight on the album. Check out his band to - Telling The Bees.

We have also been working with Tim van Eyken on the material for the CD. We have never worked with other people on our material so this time it was a real eye opener to have Tim's ears and input. He has really helped us in arranging the material and giving ideas for production.

In other news, I have just uploaded two videos from last year - the old videos had our old guitarist in and I thought it was only right to put Jamie on the MySpace instead! One is from Shrewsbury Folk Festival, and the other is from Derby Folk Festival. Hope you like them - new material is shown in the Derby video.

We also have quite a few gigs already for this year, and I will try to keep the list as up to date as possible. We are trying to arrange as many gigs as possible around the summer to create a launch tour for 'To The Ground' so watch this space - in the mean time, spread the word, tell your friends and get us gigs!

Take care,

Sam xxx
