Santiago Esparza / The Detroit News
The brutal cold that hit Metro Detroit Wednesday will stick around
today as winds make it feel like it is as cold as 15 degrees below zero
in some parts of the area. A wind chill advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. today, according to
the National Weather ..Service
..in White Lake Township. Temperatures this morning are in the teens and
not expected to get above 20 degrees, said weather service
meteorologist Steve Considine. The wind chill will make it feel an additional 20 degrees colder when winds gust, he said. The good news is we are having a warming trend coming through here," Considine said. "After the
..weather
.. we had (this winter) that will feel almost like a heat wave." Temperatures
are expected to be in the low 30s with plenty of sunshine Friday and in
the mid-40s on Saturday, he said. But there is a chance of rain both
days. "I guess we can't have the best of both words," Considine said. On Sunday the temperatures will stay in the upper 30s and next week should see warmer temperatures, Considine said. "It
does look like the next week will be fairly mild," he said. "We will
probably looking at several days next week with highs above 40."
