i wanna catch the dust of a new revolution, i wanna inhale some of the dust it's kickin up.  i've got a passion, it's not fashion, global network interaction, all the g-phones write e-words spilled out on the floor in batches, playin scrabble on the table, makin up new words like zaygle, a new language, same message, all you need is love and a witness.  we've got wages and taxes, the earth standin straight on its axis, and the future just got here, and we almost walked right passed it, i'm walkin up on a congregation, they're not organizin religion, they're just dancin and liftin their hands up in every nation.  the bells and whistles are ornamental flare, i just now felt what has always been right there.  i wanna catch the dust of a new revolution.  i wanna inhale some of the dust it's kickin up, these words are gonna resonate, time come to regenerate...

...a lyric in the songs that sell us revolution, it's marketed and bought
it sounds so cliche, but it's all i can say when any other word could never sum it up
love, it is the card you play out of the hand you hold, now we all should be ashamed
we have made it cliche, but it's all i can say, and it's said with conviction written on my face, love it's all i wanna know, and everything beyond what is real is just for show, it's drank from a cup, it's written in blood, and it's worthy of much more than we could ever sell it for

there's a valley where love used to live. the stream has dried and the landscape died because neither side had an inch to give. a drafting of rules and the fight over space in a place that was once set aside for grace. and love was identified at the door and brought in on charges it wasn't responsible for. then vanity said "i'm the new ruler here" and pride formed an army to establish new lines, pariahs on the left, the others on the right. now the pawns are in place and the king plays chess with the captain of the army for the souls up for bet. and it goes back and forth in a cycle, in a spin, and neither side detects the stealth, the one they all let in. every shadow cast by the ruler and his court will be devoured by the light that love will import. may the pariahs and the others allow love to be the king to break the cycle, bring an end to vanity and prides regime.

i fell asleep in the dust of the desert, under a blanket of stars i fell into a daze in a prayer for the ages until my wish came and landed there.  i put alot of thought into a vision that is coming true to life, tonight.  i've seen a child in the arms of her mother, i've seen the sunset on venice beach, i've been in some of  my best friends weddings, they didn't last but i'm glad mine did.  all of my love buried all my hate, i really do feel like i'm walking on the air at heaven's gate.  i've written songs that can change your intentions, i've sung em all in the clubs we play, i got the words from another dimension, i got the words from a gaurded safe.  i put alot of time into a vision that is coming true to life, tonight.

ok, not much time to type. we arrive in LA, stayed at a halfway house a block from hollywood blvd. we went to sunset strip and attended an enation show at the whiskey. check em out. myspace.com/enationmusic. the next day we went to venice beach and watched the sunset. beautiful. the main strip was like new orleans with a beach. we drove up mulholand drive overlooking the city at night. lots of lights. we did our show at the good hurt. shannon-who used to work at hollister in huntsville, now lives in bakersfield and attended the show. her dad is a state senator for cali and was kind enough to give us a tour of the capitol. his assistant john took us to eat on the senator's tab-thnx john. we got to attend a hearing at which the senator presented an education bill to the board. the law making process in the flesh. we went to san fran, we were there the same day the olympic protests began. so we walked around it to the att ball park and saw a giants game. then to san jose-did the show, 2 guys from flourence AL who now live in san fran attended, thanks guys. on to portland-we're here, i'm typing quickly, 'bout to leave, no more time...

with albuquerque in the rearview, we got to san diego at dawn. let me hit fast forward to meeting peggy calhoun. peggy books and promotes for u31-a recently opened venue splashed with local art and personalities. peggy does this because she loves music-it’s that simple. she loves being around it, and reminds me that what we do is worth all the sacrifice. our show went well, and the next day peggy’s dad entertained us by playing some old jazz on an upright piano. and he pulled out the banjo as he and peggy did a duet. i saw the simplicity of a true love affair with music. and wondered why i had ever forgotten how simple it is. thanks peggy and father for reminding me. we got a tour of san diego, went to an elevated point that gave us a view of the entire city, and mexico. we have to get back soon. it’s amazing. the ocean is vast and the surfers are territorial. how small could it be in their eyes? surfers are unique, you have to earn the right to be one. we did another show at 710 beach club-good times, good people. a note from albuquerque-i have to mention jeny-she was at our show at atomic cantina-she ran to her car in the middle of our set and grabbed her guitar and sat in with us. she was a great personality, like peggy. peggy’s a treasure. i’m so greatful we met her and got to spend time with her. she’s a wonderful host. now off to LA for a few days where we’ll be staying at a half-way house of teens. i hope we can be of assistance in some way. i’ll let you know how it goes in the next blog.....

there are alot of miles between dallas and vegas before the landscape changes, and when it does it’s a reminder that we’re committed to this tour and all that implies. we saw the vegas strip for the 1st time. the sidewalks are littered with interesting flyers to say conservatively. once we strolled through a couple casinos the new of vegas wore off quickly-one note-the caged lions at mgm were the highlight-saw something cool, time for the show. we played at an old strip club converted into a music venue. we shared the bill with a band called the ventriloquists from LA. very nice people and we hope to see them again when we get to LA on the 6th. off to roswell. we did a scaled down show at a winery called pecos. and there we made life-long friends. to the owners paul and cindy, we’re in debt to you. and to dale, the manager, thanks for great conversation. and to all the people who welcomed us-too many to mention-you made an impression on this band, i hope in turn we made one as well. we’ll be back. BTW, none of the locals care about the alien thing. there’s more interesting trivia about new mexico that came to light via dale-it boasts the first winery and first "recognized" capital of the u.s. we had a night to chill in albaquerque. we wondered into a grand opening for a new art gallery where i met an inspiring resident artist named nick harmon. google fresco harmony to check out his work. outside the atomic cantina we met an contract nurse and music enthusiast named pat. he invited us to watch a dynamic guitarist named ryan mcgfirvey. he’s 21 and was obviously listened to SRV and hendrix in the womb. he could play. and it’s our turn to play tonight in this town where there are over 100 art galleries. i dig this town. sleeping in the van and eating very little, running out of things to talk about, not keeping my cell phone charged-minor details. God sustain us. we have more miles to cover and more people to meet.

Perfect vision in twilight, farsighted, seeing these times from a new angle, enlightened.

Stark, private, wise to listen and to observe all things that are said and seldom heard.

Nocturnal, essential to guard the night against its ruler that hides from the light.

Silent, stealth, undetected-moving through the maze in darkness for daylight's protection.

Sounds the trumpet of taps for the soon departed, and blasts the call to arms for the new age alarming.
