So, I was visiting my friends Chris and Natasha last night after Chris's gig(he is a most excellant drummer),and we were just hanging out at their place.

Well, their little boy(also a budding drummer)brought my daughter a CD, which she promptly tried to destroy. Apparently he listens to it every night before he falls asleep.

Guess what CD it was?

Thats right it was Starryville Humors of the blood and skin, our acoustic CD. That kid must have some good taste!

Starryville, perfect for taming toddlers and lulling them into a good nights sleep.My face is pink as I admit we have never played it for our own baby, but I swear I will try it tonight,that is, if she does not destroy it!

The Pixies, youngCatwoman and I was at the Pixies concert yesterday at the DAR Constitution Hall. Oh, look at this picture from 20 years ago, they are so cute! All right, they might not look exactly the same now, but they still have the sound! And yes, my eyes were still watering when I got that full blast of Gouge Away in my face. Where is my mind?... I know, it's in Rock'n'Roll. Thank you Pixies!

We can now watch Beck Pinar and Carl Pelter and their crew investigate the phantoms that haunt West Virginia. Using electronics and Beck's skills as a medium they are outing ghosts and spectors left and right. If you watch closely you will here some spooky Starryville Tunes accompanying the ghost hunt.
The first show is their pilot, so keep watching and I am sure you will soon see them from your living room TV,just make sure to put the little ones to bed,and if your alone I would make sure to lock your doors and check under the beds and closets.

Kanye West
Maybe I am in the minority butI don't have a problem with Kanye West's sudden "appearance" at the VMA's.
He simply cannot help himself and he says what he thinks as he thinks it. He has no self-censor or inner Oprah and that works for me.
He is simply like a naughty child and it would have been all good if Russell Brandt had merely patted him on the head and sent him to sit in Time Out with a Dunce cap on his head.
Or given him a good shagging:}
Maybe after letting Taylor Swift give him a pop on his nose with a newspaper.

The Hold SteadyYou're bored listening to your re-rere-remastered of the complete collection of the Beatles !? Helloooho, we're on 2009 now ! Just check out Mary Chang's blog and see what's the dynamic Britpop scene has to offer nowadays.I've been to couple of very good shows that past month: Bat for Lashes at the 9:30 club, and Phenomenal Hand Clap Band at the DC9. I did not know these bands beforehand, I just went there on the advise of a friend of my very best friend (draw your own conclusions). Her name (of the friend of my friend, to make things clear, if this can be): Mary. It came out that Mary devoted herself to Britpop: she knows and follows an impressive amount of bands, she goes to most of the gigs in DC, even traveling to festivals, in the US or even in the UK ! Not only she is passionate, but she also knows how to share that passion by being a writer on popwreckoning.com. I really enjoy reading her articles and thanks to her I discovered new bands that I'm listening to now. So I thought that deserved couple of lines here, and I'm sure that many of the Starryville fans, or just music lovers, would enjoy reading Mary's articles and advises as well. Enjoy

Well, we both love anything that goes bump in the middle of the night, if you know what I mean-wink wink.
Actually ,we are honored that our friends at West Virginia Ghost Investigators would like to use a Starryville song in their upcoming TV pilot. We will keep you informed about all of their ghostly adventures as soon as we know anything.
