FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Local independent music scene unites to welcome touring rock bands- indie @ the abbey debuts Wednesday September 12, 2007-
Indie music site Instrumental Analysis, WIAB Records, The Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company, 717 Tattoo and Jersey Mike Presents join forces, knowledge and resources to introduce Harrisburg's newest weekly concert series- indie @ the abbey- beginning Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 9PM at The Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company; located at 50 N Cameron Street in Harrisburg, PA.
The series features two nationally touring independent rock bands each Wednesday night at 9PM. Organizers emphasized that because of the midweek scheduling, the shows will end by midnight each week.
The Abbey Bar, featuring over 50 imported specialty Belgian Beers normally priced between $4.00-20.00, offers "$2.00 off" of the entire selection for the midweek new music series.
Inspired by a recent sold-out-free-show by Brooklyn NY indie-hipster-darlings The Hold Steady, (which drew over 800 devout fans and line-around-the-block wait time to enter the venue) organizers of the series say that they hope to tap into the shifting paradigm of popular music- offering more of what's relevant and embraced by the online community- in staunch juxtaposition with outdated "radio rock" artists.
