FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chocolatetown's own The April Skies to play exclusive Hersheypark Amphitheatre gig

August 27, 2007

Hershey, Pennsylvania Alternative/Indie rockers The April Skies are gearing up for an exclusive gig on Sunday September 2nd, 2007 at the Hersheypark Amphitheatre, inside the world-renowned Hersheypark.

"We feel honored to be the only central PA (regional) act playing inside the park at the Amphitheatre this year" said The April Skies lead singer/guitarist Jake Crawford. "Hersheypark has put together such a solid line-up of national acts playing there all summer long. It feels pretty cool to see our name sitting alongside acts like Joan Jett, The Gin Blossoms, Foghat and Jan & Dean, a little surreal, but cool."

"We're very appreciative of the way the town of Hershey has embraced us. We were honored to play last year's New Years Eve event in front of eight or nine thousand people downtown. This is just more icing on the cake and we hope to forge a lasting relationship with Hershey Entertainment as well," added bassist Jason Leidich.

Laura Woodburn, Director of Entertainment, HERSHEYPARK adds "HERSHEYPARK is looking forward to having one of our local bands, The April Skies, play in the HERSHEYPARK Amphitheatre on Sunday, September 2. The April Skies played for our town-wide New Year's celebration and we are thrilled to have them back to the Park for our Labor Day weekend celebration."

The Hersheypark show takes place in support of the band's current release HOW IT ALL PLAYED OUT (released this past October on WiAB Records) and comes after months of tour dates in cities like NYC, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington DC, Lancaster, Harrisburg and appearances at this years Millennium Music Conference, ArtsFest and the annual Dewey Beach Popfest. The band is gearing for more tour dates this fall and throughout the rest of this year and has already begun recording demos for another full length to be released in 2008.

The April Skies perform in the Hersheypark Amphitheatre on Sunday, September 2nd, 2007 with show times at 2pm, 4pm and 6pm.  Entrance to the Amphitheatre is free with paid admission to Hersheypark.

Harrisburg, PA for Immediate Release

HARRISBURG, PA
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Local independent music scene unites to welcome touring rock bands- indie @ the abbey debuts Wednesday September 12, 2007-

Indie music site Instrumental Analysis, WIAB Records, The Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company, 717 Tattoo and Jersey Mike Presents join forces, knowledge and resources to introduce Harrisburg's newest weekly concert series- indie @ the abbey- beginning Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 9PM at The Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company; located at 50 N Cameron Street in Harrisburg, PA.

The series features two nationally touring independent rock bands each Wednesday night at 9PM. Organizers emphasized that because of the midweek scheduling, the shows will end by midnight each week.

The Abbey Bar, featuring over 50 imported specialty Belgian Beers normally priced between $4.00-20.00, offers "$2.00 off" of the entire selection for the midweek new music series.

Inspired by a recent sold-out-free-show by Brooklyn NY indie-hipster-darlings The Hold Steady, (which drew over 800 devout fans and line-around-the-block wait time to enter the venue) organizers of the series say that they hope to tap into the shifting paradigm of popular music- offering more of what's relevant and embraced by the online community- in staunch juxtaposition with outdated "radio rock" artists.

For additional information, please contact Joe Casillo at 443-417-5336 or indieabbey@gmail.com

Attention bands...we are currently accepting press kits for review. We would like to sign 2-3 bands in the coming 12 months.  If you have any questions whether you fit what we do/like, see the list of bands on the main page.  Also, if you're looking for BIG advance checks, ummm, we're probably NOT the label for your band - try http://www.sonymusic.com/

Please send full press kits to:

WiAB Records
PO Box 408
Hershey, PA 17033

We're looking for serious bands/artists that are out playing shows, getting some press, and maybe even some radio (that would be cool). We probably won't make you rich, but we'll get your music in stores.
