Current mood:  pleased
1. we dumped tons of old dollar bin records. you know, the ones you've been down on your knees digging through for years, only to pass over the same dusty old sleeves every time, hoping to find something new in on the next flip... well they're gone. we've reorganized and now there's a much bigger $3 section of good disco (among other things) singles, a much more, um, focused $1 bin (a little smaller but more winners) and more brand spanking new vinyl than you've ever seen at Somethin' Else.

2. Oh, you want that Shins album? Yeah we've got that. Of Montreal and Menomena and Neil Young live at the Fillmore... we've got it all. Come on by.

3. Have you noticed the $1 used cd bin? It's under the vinyl. Take a look next time you stop by, there are some real gems in there.

4. The regular used been has been hot lately. This weekend cleared a lot of that out but you know how it is - that just means we'll pack it in with a fresh new crop of goodies soon.

The used bin is looking pretty good right now. Don't worry about searching alphabetically because there's just way too much goodness crammed in there to keep it in order, so you're gonna have to dig - but it's worth it. Some choice cuts are the Eels - Blinking Lights and Other Revelations (great double album from last year), Jeff Buckley - Grace (but you probably already have that), the Walk the Line soundtrack (already? that's harsh), the Calexico/Iron and Wine split, and Morrissey's You are the Quarry which, oddly enough, is good, despite the first track, which is a bit of a letdown. It's worth it for "First of the Gang to Die" alone. There's also a copy of the She Wants Revenge cd in there somewhere. They're supposed to be like a dancier Interpol or something and all the kids like them. If you're feeling adventurous there's the Mats Gustafssons / Sonic Youth collaboration, Hidros 3. Give it a shot.
