Leon Hendrix will be appearing at B.B. Kings in NYC Times Square for Jimi's birthday on Thanksgiving!

Leon returns to Seattle for the big night! Jimi's birthday Concert show back in Washington State, where Leon will be presented with an aluminum hollowbody strat from bandmember Stefen Isaac by way of Spruce Hill Guitars. The company artist and owner is driving the guitar out from his Minnesota workshop. Roger Fischer of HEART & Randy Hansen will be performing and Jimi will be presented with an honor by the Washington Blues Society. The Leon Hendrix Mysterience will be playing in Everett WA at Club Broadway Saturday night to celebrate your life and music.

PEACE & LOVE EVERYONE

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – It is with a heavy heart that The Leon Hendrix Mysterience
extends it's condolences to the family and friends of Mitch Mitchell, the last surviving member of the
famous Jimi Hendrix power trio that took the music world by storm in the 1960's. Mitch had just
finished a successful yet tough tour playing Jimi's music. Sadly, he was discovered having passed away
in his Portland, OR hotel room. It seems he had given his all. This is a tough time for us. November 27th
(Thanksgiving Day) is Jimi's Birthday (66) and we were looking forward to celebrating and maybe
even seeing Mitch sit in on one of our upcoming Jimi Birthday Shows. Bittersweet timing.

Jimi Hendrix' brother Leon Hendrix was notably somber upon hearing of Mitch's passing. Asked about
the loss, Leon went on to say, "I first met Mitch when I went on tour with Jimi, Noel and him in the mid
60's. I grew to love those guys. They were funny and great musicians and brought a lot of love into our
lives. It's hard to believe he's gone, too. I guess Jimi needed his other drummer. Between Buddy Miles
and Mitch Mitchell, the skies will be filled with a glorious thunder. Heaven has one hell of a band now!

I will make sure to give Mitch proper accolades and tributes at the two upcoming Jimi Birthday Jams
I'm playing, the first at B.B. King's (BBKingBlues.com) in NYC on the 28th and the other at Club
Broadway (RockTheBlues.com) in Everett, WA on the 29th. Rock on Mitch... Say hi to Jimi!"

NEWS ARTICLE! Seattle Post Intellegence -Concert THIS SUNDAY

Peace. Love. And Jimi Hendrix.

http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com:80/thebigblog/archives/148031.asp

Seattle Peace Concerts hopes to raise its profile by resurrecting the spirit of Jimi Hendrix at Sunday's Hendrix Fest at Magnuson Park.

This should be a hot concert even if it isn't 80 degrees.

Seattle's Randy Hansen, known for decades for his blazing Hendrix tribute, joins the Leon Hendrix Mysterience (formed by Jimi's brother), Cafe Authors (featuring former Heart bassist Steve Fossen and British singer-songwriter Mike Curley) and local teen group Shotty for sets beginning at noon and continuing through 6 p.m. The free, all-ages event concludes with an all-star jam.

In staging the high-profile event, organizers hope to draw community support for Seattle Peace Concerts, which has staged free summer concerts at local parks for 28 years but has faced dwindling audiences and a dearth of new blood and new bands to carry on the tradition, even in a city teeming with musical talent.

Don Glenn, founder of the concert series, is now in his mid-60s and no longer able to produce the summertime event by himself. So a group of local music-industry professionals calling itself the Rejuvenation Committee has stepped in to revive the series and drum up community support. The committee is looking for sponsors, vendors and volunteers for future events.

"The Seattle Peace Concerts were once known and may still be thought of by some as a hippie fest," says Hendrix Fest co-producer Robin Fairbanks. "We're bringing this concert series into the new age."

Since there is little money to promote the Sept. 7 concert, committee volunteers have been handing out fliers at local festivals since May. Car Toys has lent the group its "Aftershock" stage free of charge, and Guitar Center provided the money for 15,000 fliers, as well as a Hendrix replica guitar that performers will sign. The guitar will be raffled off to help pay expenses.

"We're dedicated to reviving this 28-year-old tradition," Fairbanks said. "What a shame to have Don Glenn's vision of providing free music in the backdrop of some of Seattle's most beautiful parks die."

Jimi Hendrix: An Evolution of Sound Exhibition Opening Weekend

Jimi Hendrix: An Evolution of Sound Exhibition Opening Weekend
Details
Open April 26, 2008, Jimi Hendrix: An Evolution of Sound illustrates Hendrix's musical evolution from his early days in Seattle, to his time as a journeyman musician touring the southern "chitlin' circuit" and in New York City, to his explosion on the popular music scene in London and beyond. The exhibition and the visitor experience will weave together the various musical styles and cultures that Hendrix soaked up throughout his all-too-short journey.

Exhibition Opening Day Events

Throughout the exhibition's opening weekend, documentary footage of Hendrix will screen in the Play On Theater, a Hendrix music and light show will play in Sky Church and Hendrix-themed food and drink specials will be offered at Revolution Bar & Grill.

On Saturday, April 26 at 1:00 pm, EMP|SFM's Experience: The Band will perform Jimi Hendrix cover songs and more in JBL Theater. Experience: The Band is an innovative scholarship program that integrates instrumental and vocal instruction, ensemble performance and musicianship classes with state-of-the-art online learning materials. Experience: The Band is a part of the Berklee City Music Network, a partnership with Berklee College of Music in Boston.
