Hey guys, check out my events for the NYC details.
Currently, I'm looking for somewhere to stay for the 15 & 16th and the 21st.
I'm 74 inches long, so if you have a short couch, I'll be miserable. I'm also 240 lbs. Kind of a big fella. I'm drug, alcohol, and smoke free. I can handle a house in which you drink, but I'd rather not be around the other stuff.
Also, I'd love to hit up some 12 Step meetings while I'm there. AA or NA. I don't care.
So let me know...

From Publisher's Weekly:
This self-help book for the substance-abusing artistically—and atheistically—inclined is both a ringing endorsement of AA and a brilliant piece of literary performance with poetic and savagely funny insights. Spoken word artist Sinister—a self-professed "misfit" and recovering alcoholic and addict—celebrates sobriety and provides a methodical analysis of the 12-Step program interpolated with biting commentary ("The difference between the Bible and a Magic Eightball is that 400 years ago, you would've been burned at the stake for owning a Magic Eightball") and encouragement that is, by turns, sincere (in particular a foray into why artists are so prone to addictions) and comic ("Finding Your Inner A-Team"). The book is a wild mixture of autobiography, philosophy, social criticism, pop culture and nuttiness: the consummate self-help book for those too cool for self-help books. Although the author occasionally veers uncomfortably close to glamorizing his addictions, his advice is sound, detailed and heartfelt. (Oct.)

my old friend Vampyre Mike Kassel has died of pneumonia. I don’t know much more about it than that at the moment.
I met him in 1989. I was underage, sneaking into a bar to read poems. Vampyre was a wild eyed man, looked like an outlaw biker, and read his poems with a hilarious anger that I’ve never seen equaled.
Different time and place, different drugs, Vampyre would’ve been a Sam Kinison type comedian. Either that or a really funny serial killer.
I’ve missed his presence for years now. He hadn’t been on the scene much since our mutual friend David Lerner died. I’d only seen him at tribute or memorial readings since then. But now, he’s really gone from us.
If you want some funny mean poems... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url?%5Fencoding=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=books&field-author=Vampyre%20Mike%20Kassel

I'm doing a comedy show for Noise Pop. I'm opening for Dragon Boy Suede, who is up from LA and someone to see now before he blows up huge. He's the hot alternative comic right now after years of cultivating his unique style of standup. He's worth the price alone, but you can pretend to have come to see me at the same time.
Also on the bill are Carol & Mitzi. These are the alter egos of Beth Lisick and Tara Jepsen. Likely, if you know me, you know one of these two if not both. They do a character act that has gotten better every time I've seen it.
Ali Wong, also on the bill, makes jokes that would embarrass Don Rickles. She's filthy, funny, and cute as a button. She's one of my favorite local comics, with a full seal of approval from me, that if you like me, you will like her.
The show is $10. http://12galaxies.inticketing.com/evinfo.php?eventid=22768
Tickets may be bought at the above link.
Show is at 9pm, and somehow, it's all ages, even though it's in a bar. Don't ask me how, cuz I don't know. Bring your ID regardless, and have a good time!
