Pivot's first single is out now on Warp and we have a video for it out now. It features puppets, fake gore, sharks and us being splattered with blood - needless to say it was very fun to be in and it's on YouTube now - Oh, and the 12" is finally out at places like WarpMart, Juno & Boomkat, etc and digitally on iTunes and Bleep. It looks lovely, is nice to touch and has a heavy remix from the man like Rustie.... check it...

Roam the Hello Clouds recently recorded a live session of new material for ABC Radio National in Australia. Tim Ritchie presents 'Sound Quality' every Friday night, and was nice enough to have us on to play and have a chat. The recording is now available for download/podcast or get the file direct. It's some tribal improv voodoo stuff.

My new solo record is mixed and now sounds like a record. It was mixed in Berlin by Kassian Troyer who mastered the new Roam the Hello Clouds record.
It has taken a long time to make, but it's a pretty reasonable digest of whats been going on around me for the past two years since finishing playing shows for the last one - kids playing r'n'b on the back of night buses at 4am, dudes booming dancehall in their pimped up stereos down Bethnal Green Rd, echoes from the neaby Mosque, completely losing yourself in bass, hearts beating like marching bands, tension, release, tension, release, monotony, distractions, holding tight, it's racing...........

Debut record of a trio I am in called Roam the Hello Clouds is out now on ~scape. Basically a improvised jazz record, it was recorded in 1 day around three years ago in Sydney with friends Laurence Pike on percussion and Phil Slater on trumpet. People are liking it, it's getting airplay all about, so I thought I might let you know that you can now pick it up. You can get it digitally at Bleep, Juno, Boomkat, eMusic, Beatport, etc. Or get it for real at Boomkat, Smallfish, 78's, Amazon, etc Check us on MySpace and Facebook if you are on that tip aswell.

Just uploaded my past two albums onto imeem. Listen to them all in their entirety. Dave Miller - Mitchells Raccolta (Background Records, 2005) Miller & Fiam - Modern Romance (Expanding Records, 2006) I like imeem. I hope it has a future. Very clean, no rubbish, good sound aswell. It seems that MyWaste must be a bit scared of it aswell - I wasn't able to link to any imeem sites directly - it ruined the code that i submitted. The ones above are linked from my own site. If you want to imeem connect to me I am at davemiller DOT imeem DOT com (Sorry I can't link that, thanks to Rupert) Enjoy.

Partly getting distracted/procrastinating from finishing my next record for good (it's been forever), partly in sheer tribute to an awesome album, partly wanting to dance to slow music with emotion, partly feeling the claustrophobia/anxiety of the lyrics on the record, partly needing bass on the dancefloor, partly due to the love i got from the last bit of fun I had editing a indie song I love, I finished another dub. Enjoy. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible (Dave Miller dub)ps. We are mixing the Pivot record next week. Hold tight for that stuff. You are going to be surprised.

More free stuff to download. This time a live set of mine I did in Tokyo last year. It was available for a while last year, but now it's back. Plus, for the first time, two sections of a live set I did at the Spitz in London last year. It was for an Expanding Records showcase, and I played sounds from the Miller & Fiam album, minus Fiam (who was in Australia at the time), plus bits and pieces of percussion that were thrown in. It's a completely different vibe to the Tokyo club set - more sitdown/improv, and one that I don't do often, but love doing. Enjoy. Comment. Spread. Thought i'd share a little edit I did a few months ago of a band I love. It's kinda in the same tradition as a 'edit' of a disco track that extends the beat at the start and end of a song for djs. I know there are other edits of TVOTR that are more fun, hell, I own one, but this was just the vibe I got. Other reasons why it came out like it did were because of the influence of two things: 1. Theo Parrish 2. Psychedelic house parties that i've been to a few times where French and Spanish people dance to slow slow disco, house and afrobeat at around this tempo in east London until they realize they've been there for 14 hours. Then keep on dancing. TV on the Radio - Don't Love You (Dave Miller dub)Enjoy.

I had a great time in Perth over Christmas and the icing on the cake was playing the sold-out Bang the Gong show on NYE. It was great to try out a entirely new set of sounds (apart from one old thing) and even better to see people getting into it. Thanks again to the huge crew that put it on and the people who let me know they dug it. I took some really random photos of friends/casulties to make sure there was no posing. Enjoy. Back in LDN now and its 30 degrees cooler.
