We have done many events over the years with the Psy Pirates at
their outdoor parties around canterbury. They are a great bunch! We are
proud to announce the release of their 'Garden Spores' CD featuring one
of our tracks - Shadows ft. Nacre.
From the website:
The first compilation showcases 11 of our finest dancefloor gems,
filled with rich sounds uplifting melodies, interesting rhytms and
unique basslines.
This compilation gently spans across a diverse musical range , warm
progressive house influences set the mood, then moves into the more
structured trance sound. After the hight of bpm is reached, the dub
influenced sounds emerge exiting to an ending of ambience
Certainly a fresh new breeze, which guarantees to satisfy a wider audience this upcoming Summer season!
You can get the tracks here: http://estuaryrecords.com/..index.php?option=com_maian..15&view=album&album=1&Item..id=3
The actual CD will be for sale at 3 events throughout New Zealand this

EXCISION
Taking influence from DnB, Metal, and Hip Hop, Excision is an artist
who must be heard to fully believe. Combining the morphing bass lines
of Drum and Bass, the aggressive energy of Metal, and the laid back
vibes of hip hop, Excision’s style is incomparable.
At only 22, this young Canadian’s passion for music has already
driven him to become one of the biggest Dubstep acts of North America.
Anyone who has heard a set by this bad boy has walked away feeling
energized and refreshed. If your lucky enough to catch a live set,
expect an assault of bass heavy tracks, mixed quickly and seamlessly.
Upon the selling out and repressing of his first release, “No
Escape” on his own label Rottun Recordings, it became apparent that
there was a large demand for the dark side of Dubstep. This was proven
to be true when Excision was asked by Electronic Music Superstars
Pendulum to remix their latest single “Showdown.”
Look out for collaborations with North American Bass Guru
Bassnectar, Pendulum, and many others ranging from DnB heavy weight
SPL, to Dubstep womp master DZ. With an upcoming U.S. tour alongside
Pendulum, and a set at the fabled Shambhala Music Festival among many
other Canadian and U.S. dates throughout the year, Excision is one to
watch.

SICK CYCLE
Sick Cycle began as two separate producers, Michael West and Levon
Maeder, each on their own path in music. They both attended the same
school and the same audio engeering course. Michael first released
"Meditation" under the name Sick Cycle in 2006, playing live on his
MicroKorg Synth & Acoustic Guitar and producing the drums on PC.
Michael and Levon finally collaborated together in 2007, and havent
looked back since.
Sick Cycle's dubstep assault began in 2008, with little knowledge. To
their amazement, Rottun Recordings, run by Canadian producer
"Excision", signed the tunes that came forth. "Concept" is out this
year as a 12" Vinyl on Rottun Recordings, as well as "Hive Mind" and
"Tweak Frenzy" as MP3 downloads via beatport.com. For more information
please visit www.rottunrecordings.com
This year for Sick Cycle involves their second CD album with some
special guest remixes, and their second New Zealand Tour - this time
with Dunedins best dj crew "Urban Terror Unit". Last years tour saw
Sick Cycle performing alongside melbourne based producer Nasty Genius,
and the results were outstanding.
Sick Cycle also run "Corrosive Noise" dark music events in New Zealand.
The events feature New Zealand musicians & producers who focus
primarily on darker destructive music. Christchurch events are held at
Double Happy in the central city, and in the past have featured artists
like Nanotek, Organikismness, Kilotone, Habit, The Facecutters, &
Urban Terror Unit. Keep an eye out for these events as they only happen
two or three times a year.
There is no doubt there are big things on the horizon for Sick Cycle,
they are passionate about what they do and are dedicated to noise.

REMARC! (UK)Sick Cycle & Chopp Dem Riddims are proud to present the pionner junglist, REMARC!
Sunday the 30th of November, at Double Happy, 182 Cashel St.
REMARC begun his music career at 13 years of age playing reggae, rare
groove and electro at house party's in and around his birth town of
Brockley in south east London. At 17 he got he's first break as a DJ on
the infamous Weekend Rush pirate radio station playing hardcore and
through the progression into jungle. It was here that he initially made
a name for himself as a DJ but only really touching a London based
audience.
Most of us first heard of REMARC when the dark-side anthem Ricky was
released back in '93 on his own label Dollar records. He went on to
produce some of the most rinsing jungle imaginable by becoming the
ultimate don of the Amen break.
UK based jungle producer and DJ, REMARC is widely proclaimed to be
"king of the Amen" and "a pioneer of ragga jungle" due to his chopped
up tracks for legendary labels such as Dollar, White House, Kemet,
Labbello
Blanco and Suburban Base. The majority of these tunes were compiled
alongside previously unreleased dub plates for a two volume
retrospective released by Planet Mu. The re-releases of these classics
soon moved as many units if not more than a successful drum n bass
release proving that Remarc and the Jungle sound is still an
unstoppable force in the game. It also introduced him to the world of
other electronic music and a new generation of Junglists and amen
mashers, ultimately building a 2nd fan base.
With tracks appearing on over 111 releases worldwide there is no
questioning that if you have not heard of Remarc, its time to open your
ears to the founding father of the amen sound. For those familiar with
the legend He is still spinning Jungle (oldskool and new) worldwide and
is becoming equally known for his DJ skills and nasty dub plate
specials.
2008 projects include the birth of his new record label Definition
Recordings – new releases from the man, (the first to be launch tracks
for his label) – a second American tour as well as an Australian tour.
There is no doubt big things are on the horizon for the man that is
passionate about what he does and is dedicated to flying the flag for
Jungle - the sound and the scene.
