Cherry Juice Recordings is looking for remixers with talent for one cute CJR song.
The winners will be released on CJR and will get 100% of the sell product of their track. They will get maximum visibility and possibly be signed for more releases. All genres accepted.
Deadline: Sunday November the 2nd at midnight (CET)

The track to be remixed is Laurent & Lewis's latest single "One Street Further", something very Pop.
Listen to the original here: http://www.deezer.com/#music/album/225735
Get the Acapella (wave file) here: http://www.cherryjuicerecordings.com/remix/onestreetfurther/
The speed is 130bpm.

Send the URL of your remix or the remix itself (320k mp3 prefered) to competition(at) cherryjuicerecordings(dot) com, with your artist name, a working email address and eventually a telephone number.

Tous à vos machines! Break a leg!

There are some rules, and right now, the ones that come to mind are:
Cherry Juice Recordings owns all submissions.
All entrants are allowed to make CD-Rs, download and stream their remixes wherever they want (no other uses), so long as they're given away for free (without charge) and licensed under Creative Commons. We can do the same...
We will, however, solely own and control all rights to the winning entries. We can use and sell them in any way we like, without payment other than agreed above.
The use of uncleared samples in your remix will automatically disqualify you from winning. Employees and family members of Cherry Juice Recordings and Wallshaker Music are not eligible to enter this contest!

Cherry Juice Recordings is a House, Techno, Electronica & Pop label based in Detroit (MI, USA) and Amsterdam (Holland, NL).

The (rare, out of stock) Japanese version of Laurent & Lewis's "Überlove" is being re-released digitally this month. It is an unmixed version of the European CD, with an Intro and Outro with Tamiyo explaining the album (in Japanese), and two bonus tracks (already released in Japan on other supports).
It should be on most digital platforms before the end of September.

The European digipack version is still available for those who want beautiful objects. Designed by Reykjavik-based French artist Pierre Marly, "Überlove" is a lot more than gorgeous music, it is a special package including artwork, lyrics and full credits.

The CD can be ordered online, mostly from French websites: Fnac, Amazon, Alapage and CDmail. Hurry before the stock is gone...

Muxtape is closed, some flash players just don't work, on iTunes one can only listen to 30 seconds... Well, there is still Deezer.

Now everyone can go and listen to Cherry Juice Recordings' releases there also: "Give It 2 Me", "Ouh Bébé", "Just Want To Be Loved", "Motion", "Überlove"... Go for it, honey!

The original CD is now at the factory somewhere in South France. Pierre Marly has shown us the design of the sleeve: it is gorgeous. We are now planning some release parties. We keep you posted...

I'm in Lappeenranta (South Carelia, Finland) and we just finished mastering "Überlove". Three days of hard work, but we're proud: it does sound quite nice.
Now it's time to enjoy the snow before heading back to Helsinki...

That's it, our album is finished. I'm flying to Helsinki in a few days to have it mastered at Sonichouse with Ecodelay.
Überlove has ten tracks. The first six are quite catchy, a blend of Pop, House and Electro, and the last four ones are darker, more on the Techno side.
Pierre from Dataselected (Reykjavík, IS) is finishing the sleeve and it should be in your favourite store some time in April.
We had loads of material left, so we might release an EP later, with more edgy tracks.
That's the news so far...

Just Want To Be LovedAaron-Carl confirmed that the official release date of the 12? version of "Just Want To Be Loved" will be February 14th 2008… or Valentine's day. It is quite ironic that a song about the lack of love comes out the day everyone is supposed to celebrate love, romantism and coupling, isn't it?

"Just Want To Be Loved" was originally written for a man, The Robot--, who was once popular, powerful and adored in the Amsterdam night life. He asked Laurent to write him something so he could become a Pop star. Laurent wrote a song about this man's life: popular because he is beautiful and sells drugs (he was a drug dealer), but still lacking love. Very disco, very catchy, but melancholic. While he was taking singing lessons and working on becoming a star, The Robot-- got busted and sent to jail for many years. So Laurent & Lewis decided to sing the songs themselves, hoping The Robot-- would get to listen to the radio and be able to hear the song that was meant for him.

The story doesn't stop here: while singing it live, Lewis saw people getting freaky on the song. They started screaming and licking his shoes. Another time, girls in the front row of the concert room started crying. Who could have thought that people would be touched by a song written for a popular Amsterdam drug dealer with a lonely heart?

The 12? will be found in shops already selling Wallshaker Music records. You can also pre-order it.
