I didn't realize it has been over 2 years since I posted something here! Well, the group is starting to play again after the sudden, unexpected loss of our keyboard player Shaunka Shepherd. We played the "Oakland Art & Soul Festival" again this year and that was a very successful gig. We also played "The Great American Blues & BBQ Festival" in San Rafael which also went very well. I'm in the process of mixing for the next CD which we plan to release this spring on our label "WorldWind Music". The sound of the new CD is a bit different in that there are less cover tunes, more of our own material and a slight shift towards my rock roots. The blues will always be there, but I just needed to get some of the "southern rock" songs I've done out of my head and onto a CD. The formation of the group will continue to expand, contract, shift and change based on the venue we're playing. My target is to be able to start working the 10 to 12 piece group on a more regular basis but due to the current state of the economy I'll probably have to keep it down to 5 or 6 pieces. We have some gigs booked for October and November and I will also be working off an on with "Zakiya Hooker" and also with the "Best Intentions" Motown tribute show. As you may have noticed We don't have any shows listed at this time. I've finally gotten down to the business of mixing 11 reels of tape worth of music for the cd. But don't fret none, there are some things happening in August and they will be posted.
