We can generally easily see, and are quick to point out the inappropriate behavior, actions and shortcomings in others, and yet can be completely oblivious to our own.  The funny thing is, that as we begin to focus on correcting those within ourselves, and recognize our own need to change and grow in certain areas, we begin to view others in an entirely different light.  And, the very fact that change is occurring within us, is seen by those around us, and acts as a catalyst for them to also begin to recognize their own need to change.  When our desire is to transform the world, if we will first look within, the rest will simply begin to naturally fall into place.

If I were on Death Row

If I were on Death Row, here is how you could help me more than anything else possibly could.

You could show me what True Love is all about.

You could forgive me as Jesus forgave you, (even if I am too stubborn to ask for your forgiveness. Your Love might break my stubbornness before I die)

You could simply show me the Love that Your Jesus has shown You. (How else will I ever know it?)

To Tell me about it, is nothing more than Words

To SHOW Me the Love, THAT makes a Real Impact & causes me to really think.

Jesus not only Talked the Talk, He Walked the Walk (Show Me Jesus)

You could Love Me & help prepare me to Meet this Jesus that you all say is LOVE

How will I know His Love if You are not Showing it to ME?

Would I Truly become Your Brother if I decided to Follow Jesus?

Do I 1^st have to be your brother for you to Love Me?

If You do not Guide Me, whose job is it to Guide Me?

If I were on Death Row, I would like to be Loved & Comforted (Witnessing Jesus Love through YOU)

I would need reassurance every single day that I will soon meet Jesus Face to Face.

It would comfort me to hear that I am currently being treated exactly as Jesus was treated

It would strengthen me to know that others are watching how I am handling my Death Warrant

It would strengthen me to know that through My Death, others might come to know Jesus as well.

If I truly came to Know Jesus through Your Love, I would have No Fear, I would be a New Man

Prepare me now to become a Martyr for Jesus Christ, so others can witness this New Man in me

Prepare me now to stand strong, suffer & die, as Jesus Christ suffered and died for ME.

Help me to realize that My Death will now be meaningful to all that watch me die (A Faithful Man of God) and through My Death others might come to know Jesus Christ.

Teach me to Love My Accusers, My Murderers, as Jesus Loved His.

Teach Me to Forgive Them, as Jesus Forgave His

Help me to understand that I am no longer that terrible criminal that I was when I came to this prison, but I am now a New Man in Jesus Christ (Your Brother) whom YOU LOVE.

And if I was innocent before I came here, help me to see that Jesus was also innocent, and He was also murdered by the evil mob that accused Him.

Teach Me to set an example, as Jesus set an example for US to Follow.

How can I learn to set an example, if you are not setting an example for me to see?

Simply Love Me

Through YOU, I might be saved, Through ME, others might be saved.

What better way for me to cross over to the other side, than to have Total Peace in Knowing that the next face I see will be that of My Savior Jesus Christ?

If I were on Death Row, I would want ALL to see that I am NOT AFRAID

If I were on Death Row, I would want ALL to see that my murderers are doing ME a Great Favor.

If I were on Death Row, I would want ALL to see that I am DEFINITELY going to Heaven (unlike those who 'think' they are doing 'Justice')

If I were on Death Row, I would love the opportunity to Thank ALL that made my Death an incredible Honor for Me, & an Honor to My Lord (I WILL see Jesus) Will they? Pray for Them, Not for me

If I were on Death Row, I would like to believe that You would Love Me, as Christ Loved You

If you Show Me Love & I accept this Love (Jesus), then in Truth & Reality, if I follow Christ's Loving example, I would WANT to suffer & die a martyr. I would Be Blessed & I would see Heaven. (GUARANTEED!)

I believe that the evil ones would eventually Stop Murdering Death Row inmates, once they considered that they were doing us a Great favor by ultimately ending our true pain & suffering, and providing us with a Guaranteed Immediate ticket straight through the Pearly Gates.

Do you remember how you felt when you graduated High School? Do you remember sending out graduation notices to all of your family & friends? You might have even had a graduation party. This was your Big Day for attention and everyone was sending you gifts and/or money.

I recall how shocked I was when I started receiving cards, gifts & money from my Aunts & Uncles, Friends & Relatives. I truly wasn't expecting it. I was not used to that sort of attention. Besides the money I received, I remember receiving an ID Braclet from one of my Aunts. I also remember receiving a deck of red playing cards with a Crab (the symbol of a Cancer) on the face. That was 31 years ago and I still have that deck of cards.

Today I am extremely proud of a young lady whom I have been writing to since March of 2006. She is listed on my web site and she really is a sweet girl. She has studied very hard to receive her GED while she is incarcerated in a Kentucky prison. Her name is Ashley Haire.

Won't you please send a card to Ashley and congratulate her for this great achievement in her life? Who says that you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

I am 49 years old and I have been smoking cigarettes since I was in my early teens. I've smoked Marlboro, Winston, Salems, Full Flavored, Lights, Ultra Lights. I have always smoked Filtered cigarettes. There is no way I could handle a non-filtered cigarette ever. My cigarette of choice for the past 5+ years has been a brand called Highways. They can only be purchased at BP Gas Stations. I developed a taste for them when cigarette prices started going through the roof. They were the only cigarette that I had found that was closest to the taste of the Marlboro brand. I was smoking Highway Ultra Lights 100's. I am not sure how many years ago it was that I switched to 100's over the standard length. All I know is that the standard length cigarettes simply didn't last long enough for me. Over the past 5+ years I have become a very heavy smoker (2-3 packs per day)and I am not happy about it nor am I proud of it, especially when I go into these terrible coughing frenzies sometimes when I 1st wake up.

Several days ago, I was talking to a friend of mine on the telephone. She is going through a rough time lately, trying to make ends meet. She mentioned that she recently started rolling her own cigarettes because they are much cheaper than normal cigarettes that you buy in a pack. She was also telling me about the tobacco being 100% Additive-Free Natural Tobacco. I really wasn't all that interested. For one, I couldn't imagine that I would ever enjoy the taste of a self-rolled cigarette. #2, I never knew that you could buy filters for rolling your own cigarettes. #3 She had mentioned that there was an image of an indian on the can and as I recall, many years ago I am positive that I've tried that brand (Pre-Rolled in a pack) and didn't really care that much for them.

A couple of things that she told me, did peek my interest and curiosity. She said that ever since she has been rolling and smoking her own cigarettes, she has not been coughing as she did. "No Coughing Frenzies" Wow!
Another thing she told me is that her brother stopped over to visit. He cannot stand to be around cigarette smoke. The smell of cigarette smoke bothers him a lot. She was in the next room and forgot, she lit up a cigarette and thought nothing of it when she came into the same room where her brother was at. He was shocked! He asked her what that was she was smoking because he could not smell it. It was not bothering him at all. In fact, he liked the smell of it.

These things peeked my interest and I decided why not stop and pick myself up a can of this tobacco, simply to try it out? After all, what do I have to lose? On Sunday at 9:58AM, I bought my 1st can of (Original Blend) Natural American Spirit Tobacco for $9.95, which comes with 200 rolling papers inside. I also bought 2 bags of Top Filter Tips (.99 per bag of 100) Now since I am used to 100's, I went ahead and purchased several packs of 100MM rolling papers and a roller for that size, even though the 100MM papers costs $1.19 for only 32 sheets. (BAD DECISION)

I was SHOCKED when I smoked my very 1st self-rolled cigarette. I actually enjoyed the taste and I knew immediately that I could easily get used to smoking these on a regular basis. But what shocked me even more, is how the cigarette did not burn up fast, as did the Highway Ultra Lights 100's do. I mean this thing lasted a LONG time. I puffed on it to the point where I wondered if it would ever end. LOL!

I couldn't wait to tell my friend. I called her up and told her what I did and how I liked it. I told her I was very impressed with how slow this tobacco burns up. This is when she told me more about all the additives that are in other brands. Chemicals they add to cause cigarettes to burn up faster, and to burn evenly. She said that she did a LOT of research on this before she started rolling her own and before she chose this brand of tobacco.

Well now I have started using the regular size rolling papers that come free inside the can of tobacco. I have no need for the 100's. I can puff on a short cigarette for 15-20 minutes. LOL! And guess what else? Today I decided to get brave and roll up a cigarette with NO FILTER. I simply wanted to see what it would taste like without a filter. WOW WOW! I like it even better without a filter. They taste GREAT! I am SHOCKED! I am AMAZED! I am AMUSED! LOL!

I felt that this is worth mentioning. I learned today when I called, the Grant County Detention Cention has made some major changes in their mail rules over the past two months. They are now allowing certain publications to be sent to the inmates as well as computer generated material, whereas before, the inmates were not allowed to receive ANY magazines or publications. They are also allowing COLOR ink within the letters, whereas before NO Color ink was permitted. This is a Giant Victory for these inmates. This is very encouraging news and it shows that we CAN make a difference if we do not give up trying.
They even changed the web page from two months ago when I first started making such a fuss.

In my August 21 blog, I explained how to easily avoid the High Phone Rates charged by MCI & the DOC.

It was brought to my attention that inmates are unable to make calls to cell phones. HOWEVER, I just received a letter from Becky today and she said that she tried to call my cell phone and couldn't get through. She also said "With a cell phone you have to setup an account with the phone company the jail goes through, which I believe is Evercom?"

YES! That is the Answer. I immediately called Evercom at 1-800-844-6591 and gave them my cell phone number. The lady immediately explained to me that they have no contract with Cingluar Wireless and then simply asked if I wanted to setup a PrePaid account for this number. I asked how much the calls would be, and she looked it up, came back and told me that each call will cost me $1.85 each, no matter how long we talk.

The minimum amount needed to be deposited is $50.00 an $8.00 processing fee. NOW Becky can easily call me in Cincinnati, Ohio from Bowling Green, Ky (181 miles away) for only $1.85 PER Call.

So there you have it, a perfect way to receive calls from your loved ones, without being charged ABSURD phone rates.

I paid $35.00 for a physical mailbox (3 months duration) through the UPS Store in Bowling Green, Kentucky
I paid $29.99 $5.95 shipping for a Nokia Cell Phone (Model 6030) through Cingluar Wireless
My Monthly Cell Phone Plan with Cingluar Wireless only costs me $39.99 per month for 300 Anytime minutes & 1000 nights & weekend minutes. (Long Distance is Free)

Bottom line:
For $39.99 per month, Becky can now call me for $1.85 per call INSTEAD of the $17.30 per call that I was priviously being charged for her to call my home number in Cincinnati, Ohio.

I wanted to confirm with you all, that my research and solution to beat the high phones rates charged by MCI through Evercom & the Correctional Billing Services definately worked for me. Rebecca finally received my letter today, and this evening she called me on my new cell phone. I haven't been able to talk to her in over 2-3 months due to each 15 minute call would have cost me $17.30 EACH. This evening she called me nearly 10 times or more and we talked for 15 minutes each time. I have determined that each call that I received from her during PEAK hours, is now only costing me a total of $3.98 for each 15 minute call. THAT is figuring in what Evercom is charging me PLUS what my monthly cell phone bill is through Cingluar Wireless. (On each 15 minute call, I used up $1.85 of the $50.00 I have on deposit with Evercom, + I used up $2.13 of my monthly $39.99 with Cingluar Wireless) During Nights & Weekends, I will only be charged $1.85 per each 15 minute call, because this does not use up any of my Cingluar Wireless money on my account.

Remember, ANYONE can do what I did. It was VERY EASY and there is no company making any big profits off of this.

If anyone has any questions or if you need help on any of these steps, or if you are confused about anything at all, PLEASE contact me and I will help you with this.
