Hey,

Thanks to everyone that came out to NV Ultra Lounge in Bloomington, IL last night.  We had a great time playing for you guys and hope to be back soon.  Also thanks to The Run Around and Green Light Revival, who both put on kick ass shows.  Be sure to check out The Run Around's new full length coming out in February.  It was recorded by MTP's own Ian Fell and Stephen Henigman up here in Chicago.

We're going to rolling through Champaign, IL the weekend of February 21st.  More details to come shortly.

Stay warm!

Hey everyone,

Just a friendly reminder that we will be playing at the Cowboy Monkey in downtown Champaign this Saturday night.  We'll be joined by our good friends in the Run Around, The Insecurities (featuring Stubhy of Lucky Boys Confusion), and Swizzle Tree.  The fun starts at 9pm in downtown Champaign, 19+, 7 bones.  Please come out and bring a friend!!

Also, we did an interview with the Buzz; a weekly publication put out by the Daily Illini.  The Buzz comes out Thursdays so be on the lookout for that MTP article!

We hope to see you this weekend.  Remember to let your voice be heard tomorrow and vote!

Just posted some new pics of us in the studio recording some guitars for a new batch of songs. Everything is turning out great. For this second set of songs we are recording at Rax Trax Studios located in Chicago, IL. Feel free to check out all the great things Rax Trax is doing here.

With 2 of 3 recording sessions knocked out, our new album is coming along slowly but sherly. On this album we have a lot of new creative work that we are excited about. Ian and Steve M are really battleing it out in the song writing so there is a good mix of each of thier vocal talent. We are very happy with the recording and can't wait to share it with everyone. We are taking the opportunity to be surrounded by some of the best engineers in Chicago and Champaign areas. So far we have recorded with Jonathan Pines of Private studios in Urbana, IL, Matt Talbott of Great Western Record Recorders  in Tolono, IL, and a multitude of Staff engineers from Rax Trax Studios in Chicago, IL. I could not even begin to tell you the amount of experience in the audio industry these people share but I can say that things are definitley going in the direction of a very aticipated sophmore release for Missing the Point. Stay in touch to receive more updates from mtp and come out to a show to hear out new material.

Thank you to all who have helped us and encouraged us to continue to make music. Once again, we are pumped about the new album.

Hi everyone!

We've had a great time at our last few shows! If you were in attendance you probably already knew that ;-) and you also might have picked up a free sampler at our merch table. It contains three tracks we've been working on since 2005's Healing of the Nation: "Anthem of our Season", "Happy Alone", and "The First Time". I just posted these in our Myspace player so please take a listen if you haven't yet checked these songs out.

We've got some really exciting shows coming up (Oct. 17th @ the Canopy with Lucky Boys Confusion, Cowboy Monkey with the Insecurities and Swizzle Tree, a couple of dates with Steve Ewing of the Urge,...), so be sure to check these out if you can. Also expect a recording update soon from the Counslor...
