Yes.. it's true.  We will be heading to Pachyderm studios this month to re-record "From the Last Hello".  The song currently on our 2006 Ep will be rearranged and redone with a new twist to it.  We can't be more excited to get in the studio again and remake one of our favorite songs for you all.

More to come...

Hey all.

So, I'll just come out and say it.  The tracking for the album is 100% complete, and we have turned the tracks over to Colt Leeb (the engineer of our last EP), who will be mixing the disc.  We expect to have the disc completed by mid-April, and will have clips for you shortly thereafter.

The tracks included on the disc will be "The Weight of it All," "All That's Been Done," "Too Late" and "Muting of Alarms" (though not necessarily in that order).

Of course, this means that we are currently planning a CD release party, and are working hard on making it the biggest local event of the entire summer.  If you haven't already, please spread the word about Far From Falling to your friends, and be sure to bring a few extras out to our show with Gingerjake on the 28th of this month.  We've got some big things coming up in these next few months, and are looking forward to having you sing along with all the new tracks.

In other news, writing has begun on a new crop of songs.  We'll post more updates as those come along further.

Hope all of you are enjoying the warmer weather, and we hope to see you on the 28th.

Til then,

Far From Falling

As many of you know, we are our own worst critics... that said, be prepared for an amazing, amazing album.

As I post this, I am currently listening to the rough mixes of "All That's Been Done" and "Too Late."  Both turned out far better than we could have ever imagined, and we've not even yet entered the mixing process.  Kudos go to our engineer, Daryl, and everyone in the group for absolutely stepping it up on this recording.

We took a bunch of video in the studio, and will be posting updates here shortly.  Be sure to subscribe to be the first to see them!

Harley goes in on Thursday to record vocals to "Weight of it All" and "Muting of Alarms," and after that, it's on to mixing, mastering and artwork.

In other news, we've just booked a show with FAIR TO MIDLAND at the Rock in Maplewood.  This will be our fourth time playing with them, and we are absolutely stoked to be able to play with one of favorite bands once again.

We will be booking a CD Release date soon as well, so please be sure to keep on the lookout for that.

Thank you so much for all your continued support.  We can't wait to see you and have you hear the new disc.

-John

If you haven't heard, we're playing the Fine Line THIS Friday, February 13th.  For those who haven't been there, the Fine Line (www.finelinemusic.com) is one of the best clubs in Minneapolis, and we've taken great care to assemble a bill we hope you'll love.  We'll have new merch at the show, and have put together a few surprises we think you'll dig.

On February 21/22nd, we'll be heading into Winterland studios to record the follow-up to our debut EP.  We currently have a few disc titles that we've been throwing around, and although the full tracklisting is still up in the air, these two songs are certain: "Weight of it All" and "All That's Been Done."  If you don't know these songs, feel free to check the links below to take a listen:

Weight of it All
All That's Been Done

If you do know them, be sure to head over to the previously-posted blog, and learn all the lyrics so you can sing along with us at the Fine Line!

For all the all-agers out there, we'll be playing a show at the Garage on February 20th.  Be sure to swing on out and say hi.

Hope all is well in your world, and see you this Friday.

Muting of alarms”

All I’ll be to you
Is a thief you will steal from you
The faith in me
I’ll wipe you from my brow
Much like I disavow
Everything plain to see

Well you made up my mind
Self loathed and unkind
You placed me on the shelf
And somehow I had lost myself

Cause I am not these things you speak
I am not what you believe
I am everything you are, just rejected
I will hold my dignity
As you throw your shade on me
I will no longer grieve
This is me

A lie fake and creep
I’ll beg steal and cheat on
On your company
I'm going to drag you down
Turn you upside down
Oh you best believe

Well you made up my mind
Self loathed and unkind
You placed me on the shelf
And somehow I had lost myself

Cause I am not these things you speak
I am not what you believe
I am everything you are just rejected
I will hold my dignity
As you throw your shade on me
I will no longer grieve
This is me

For locking myself in and being scared
To the numb-aholic in a state of fear
For the rolling of eyes and the crossing
of arms

To ignoring red flags and the muting
of alarms

(chorus x2)

“All that’s been done”
No more contact with my confidant
These thoughts of disconnect still intact
We’re stuck enrolled in this quarrel
We’re in

I want to stop living in the past
I want to be resolved and bridge the
gap

I want to forgive for all that has
been done

I love you and always will
So lets be big and just let go
Of this grudge that has been taking
hold

And be released of all this heartache
Mend the wonds that have unthread
Rest these ghosts inside of my head

So much energy has been expended
Thoughts of harmony cut off short
By attacks that reintroduce themselves

I want to breathe again without this
weight

I want to stand strong and be clean-slate
I want to forgive for all that has
been done

I love you and always will
So lets be big and just let go
Of this grudge that has been taking
hold

And be released of all this heartache
Mend the wounds that have unthread
Rest these ghosts inside of my head

Cause if it hit so hard for you like
it hit so hard for me

Then the healing's going to come painfully
Cause if it hit so hard for you like
it hit so hard for me

Then the healing's going to come so
painfully

(Chourus x2)

Weight of it all
I’m ashamed we lost our focus
More ashamed that we could not hold
this

With my head to the wall
I cant sleep anyhow
I guess there's always that option to
medicate

But whats the point of it all
If I cant face this head on
And be the one to take on your blame

Oh no
The ground is unsteady
Oh no
Now I’m barely standing

How far did we fall
Is it too far gone to receive me
The weight of it all
For so long
Has kept me buried
How I found it so hard
To be confined and unable to break
free

I moved on
I moved on

I am numb and so exhausted
So struck down by the words you keep
tossing

With my head to the wall
I cant sleep anyhow
I guess there's always that option to
medicate

But whats the point of it all
If I cant face this head on
And be the one to take on your pain

Oh no
The ground is unsteady
Oh no
Now I’m barely standing
How far did we fall
Is it too far gone to receive me
The weight of it all
For so long
Has kept me buried
How I found it so hard
To be confined and unable to break
free

I moved on

Sighing the sighs I know
That I’ve been sighing for far too
long

have I been sighing these sighs all
for naught?

(Chorus)
