Team,

Because of you, Neighbors For Change is a community sounding board and a forum for non-partisan exchange.   This is precisely what the Obama administration needs and encourages in order to garner legislative support in Washington.  With proper counsel, community support and resources we can be the change we want to see. This is a profound truth made real only by you.  The intention and need behind our organized growth is for our voices to be strong and clear when they reach the intended ear. 

What constitutes a member?  How do we organize? What is our focus?  All these questions are still unknown.  Our mission to support and watchdog the Obama administration has never been done. The path is inherently unclear, like uncharted waters and newly forged jungle trails.  I, like most of you, thrive on impossibilities.  Tell me it can't be done and I get even more determined and focused.  I know the YES WE CAN spirit resonates deeply in all of us.  

You are courageous and admirable people of which I have a deep sense of respect.  Like a family, we will argue and fight but we will still live, eat, pray and love one another, because in the end all we have is each other.  The struggles will serve to bond our collective purpose. 

I understand we all have separate and equal agendas that need attention.  But no one issue can be properly delivered to Washington, from the grassroots level and with any sense of realistic success, without a well oiled grassroots machine.

My single minded agenda is to get the machine built and powered in rapid order.  Why the rapid order?  Because every day that goes by there is less time to effect and manifest  the change we want to see and so much needs to be done.  There are a few examples in history that you can reference that match our purpose.  The pilgrims and Noah being the two I can see being reminiscent of our calling.

I am very cognizant that nothing of value ever comes easy and great things require time to manifest.  I am also cognizant that the Obama administration needs large and organized grassroots support in short order.  Who is up to the task to make this happen?  We are.   

I look forward to voyaging across this sea of change with you all.  I also know in order to make it to our destination, wherever that may be, we will have to walk and sometimes run through dangerous jungle.  I feel a sense of pride and humility because we have answered an emergency call to a higher purpose.  This has nothing to do about us.  It is about the  survival of our community, our nation and our world.
